an old friendJust like Rachel had said, there was indeed a mark of Daedalus on the costume storage door, the faint blue symbol covered in dust.
"It hasn't been used in a long time," Annabeth spoke, running her finger alongside the dust of the door.
"I tried to open it once," Rachel added, "just out of curiosity. It's rusted shut."
"No." Annabeth stepped forward, smirking slightly. "It just needs the touch of a half-blood."
The daughter of Athena was right, and once she touched the mark, the metal door began to creak open. After a minute, a dark staircase leading down into darkness was revealed.
"So... after you?" Rachel looked nervous glancing at the staircase.
Kiwáni shook her head, and watched as the mortal girl's eyes blew wide as the older girl's skin began to glow the typical golden hue. "That's so sick Kiki."
"Thanks!"
"It's not that cool," Percy muttered under his breath. Kiwáni turned her head back with a raised eyebrow. "Oh! I mean, you can do so much other cooler stuff, you know? Like sharpshooting something a thousand yards away, or killing a monster in a single blow. So, it's not that cool, you know, on your relative coolness scale."
Kiwáni snorted at that, and stepped into the tunnel first. "Thanks Percy."
Rachel rolled her eyes and stepped into the tunnel after the daughter of Apollo. "Nice save."
Once the four of them had gotten inside the Labyrinth, Rachel screamed. The mortal girl pointed to something ahead of them, and Kiwáni leaned forward to get a better look. Hung from the ceiling a couple of yards away was a skeleton, much larger than a humans. Upon closer inspection, the daughter of Apollo noticed it only had one eye socket.
