first flight

The four teenagers were awoken by an earthquake shaking the ground beneath them. Kiwáni's eyes snapped open once she realized the shifting of the Earth beneath her, scooping up her sleep stuff quickly, along with the daughter of Athena's.

The older girl's eyes locked on the still sleeping forms of Percy and Rachel, next to the now dead fire pit. Kiwáni raced over and gave the son of Poseidon a firm shake of his shoulders.

"Percy," she spoke loudly, hoping her voice might wake the boy if the physical shaking did not. "We need to leave!"

The boy's eyes snapped open, and his hands latched onto the girl's upper arm. Percy's fingertips dug into Kiwáni's burn, causing the girl to wince slightly.

The demigod's eyes were wild, and he was looking around trying to make sense of the situation. Percy's eyes landed on the ones softy standing over him, and he relaxed slightly. "Tyson—Tyson's in trouble!"

Annabeth ran up to the two demigods, her sleeping bag still undone in her hands. "First things first," she said. "We need to get out of here!"

The daughter of Athena sent the two teens a smirk, and rustled Rachel from her sleep. The mortal girl's eyes opened groggily, and she pulled the sleep bag sleeve closer to her head. "What time is it?"

"Time to get up Rachel!" Annabeth's voice had too much glee in it for this early in the morning. "Earthquake!"

"Good enough for me."
