Kiwáni meets her other dadWhen dawn came, no one was more nervous than Kiwáni, who was sure she was going to pull out all of her hair before her father arrived. As she continually checked the time on the funky Mythomagic watch Nico had on his wrist, she breathed nervously.
Thalia came up the girl, and gave her a shoulder bump that knocked the girl out of her anxiety-riddled thoughts. "Calm it Sunshine. You're cool. Don't worry about what he thinks."
Kiwáni nodded her head, but her fingers were still fidgeting with her necklaces, shifting around the chains and charms.
"Your charm. The big one. I like it," Thalia pointed to the large Hopi butterfly sitting low on Kiwáni's neck.
The girl nodded absentmindedly, her eyes still focused on the dark sky. "Oh yeah. It's a Hopi butterfly."
Kiwáni focused into the conversation, flashing the girl a nervous smile. "It's like... a symbol for continual change. That the world is never still, always growing."
Thalia clicked her teeth. "Nice."
The pair were interrupted by the sudden lightening of the sky, turning from a more dark blue to the bright pinks and oranges Kiwáni had grown to appreciate. After all, it was the view that lit up her bedroom window every morning.
"About time. He's so-o-o lazy during the winter," Artemis muttered.
Kiwáni watched with bated breath as the sky began to turn the normal blue color, mixed with the enchanting sunrise colors. Just as she was focusing on a batch of beautiful orange clouds, she felt a blast of warm air hit her face.
