A club. That was what had taken Lee Fletcher's life. A dusty, overlarge wooden club wielded by some giant that had no business being inside the camp boundary line.

The thought made Kiwáni sick to her stomach just thinking about it.

Michael had carefully led the girl to the body of their dead brother, still resting against the camp grass with his eyes closed as if he was only taking a snooze. His hand clutched at the bow still in his hand, and his head was bleeding, a sure sign that it was the injury that killed the cabin leader.

The dark haired girl felt her legs wobble uncertainly as she and her brother approached the body. Kiwáni's eyes burned at the sight of the blood staining the grass beneath the body. It was so much.

She was not sure if she had ever seen that much blood outside a body before.

Her eyes snapped off Lee's body and onto the smaller one next to it, still clutching at the bloody orange camp shirt.

"We can still save him!" Will cried out, his tears streaming down his face in waves. His hands were covered in blood, and he was trying to pull the body into his lap. The younger boy's equipment was sprawled everywhere, a stark contrast to the usual order he normally stored it in.

"Kiki! You've gotta help me!"

Kiwáni felt her knees hit the bloody grass and she sunk into the ground. Her fingers reached out uncertainly, and carefully brushed the hair out of Lee's face. Her hand moved back and the girl watched as the strands moved back into the eyes of the boy. The daughter of Apollo choked back a sob in her throat.
