Kiwáni thought she was through with weird Iris messages. Sure, she got some strange ones from Annabeth where she was not even sure the daughter of Athena knew she was on the other line. She had sat through many where Grover updated her on every single detail of his adventures looking for Pan, which had become less of crazy stories and more like melancholy to do lists. Ethan Nakamura had sent her a rather chilling one around New Years and the two had not spoken since.

But Percy...

Gods, she could not even think about Percy without her heart hurting. Presently, she did not have the courage to Iris message him after what she and her brothers were calling "the incident", and he had thankfully not tried to contact her either. Feelings of relief and disappoint swirled through her mind every time she saw the rainbow light shimmer across her bedroom mirror.

But nothing could have topped the crazed look in Clarisse's eyes as she stared at Kiwáni through the rainbow tinted mist. Her hair was pushed back by the girl's blood-red bandana, as it was normally, but this time there were strands falling out. That was the first thing that threw the daughter of Apollo off. That was something Kiwáni knew the daughter of Ares hated. Said it got in her line of sight.

And her eyes. Gods, her eyes. Kiwáni had never seen Clarisse's eyes look so red. She had almost asked if the girl was on drugs. That was until she saw who Clarisse was holding in her arms. Then her eyes too enlarged.

Kiwáni had not rushed to Camp Half Blood that fast in her life. The girl practically threw all of her stuff into a bag, and took her mother's car in route to the airport in under ten minutes. The girl was just lucky enough that her mothers had taken her to get her learner's permit a couple of weeks before. And that she had enough money in her bank account to pay to leave the car at the airport for the time being. But that did not matter, all that mattered was that Kiwáni was on her way. The girl bought a ticket and boarded the plane before her mother's had the chance to blow up her phone.
