Y/N's POV

Flashback

" Mmm....." I say as I slowly opened my eyes. I slowly stand up as my eyes adjust. I lean against the wall for balance. " Ow....." I hold my head in pain as I look around. I was in a dark hallway. the walls were full of moss and vines. It smelt musty and damp. Water was dripping from the ceiling. " How long.....was I out for?" I said to myself. I then remembered something, rather someone important. " The prince!" I said. I picked up my sword hilt and ran upstairs to the main throne room. I ran up the stairs as fast as I could. I was still heavily disoriented and kept tripping over my own feet and the steps. I looked at the castle. It was falling apart and covered in vines and moss. The once brightly lit halls were now illuminated by the moonlight that shown through the holes in the walls. 

The beautiful tapestries and curtains were now torn and blowing in the wind. The magnificence stained glass windows were now broken. parts of the floor were falling and breaking. I had to be careful so that I wouldn't fall. Eventually I made it to the throne room. There was a huge hole in the wall and the thrones were covered in vines. Parts of the ceiling were also falling apart. I looked around the room until I saw a small cradle. I ran to it and looked inside. But there was no baby. " Huh?" I said in disbelief. I shook my head and looked around the blankets. " T-the prince. No....." I said. I looked around the room but didn't see him. " Dammit!" I screamed as I punched the floor. It cracked more. " He's gone. Rhea...I failed you. I couldn't protect him. I woke up too late." I said.

I wiped the tears away from my eyes. " No Y/N. He might still be alive. if not you can at least find his body and ask his spirit for forgiveness." I said. I took a breath and stood up. I then walked over to the hole in the wall. I looked out over the ruins of the castle. " Light binds souls while darkness tends to envelope them. I walk in the darkness searching for the light. lead me to the light. Unique Magic: Torch in the Dark!" I said. A trail of light that was only visible to me appeared and went away from the castle. " I swear I will find your son Rhea." I said. I then leapt out of the castle and started following the trail.

End of Flashback

My journey led me through many lands until I finally ended up at a place called Night Raven College. Since the school only allowed boys to enroll I cut my hair and pretended to be a boy. Thankfully, I had a flat enough chest to pull it off. I snuck into the orientation ceremony and was sorted in the Disomnia Dorm. It was based off of the Thorn Witch. While I didn't like it due to my country's history with the faes, I accepted it since the trail of light I summoned led directly to it. Once I was there my search came to an end. i immediately saw the prince. He looked just like his father but his hair somehow changed from blond to silver. I wanted to approach him but that's when I saw him get close to someone I knew. The person that he was close to was General Lilia Vanrouge. I remember General Vanrouge from the war. 

While I never fought with him directly, my master the Knight of the Dawn and the Prince's father, fought with him a lot during the war. The stories he would tell made my blood boil. I wanted to attack him right then and there but then i also noticed that the Prince of Briar Valley was the head of the dorm I was now apart of. I knew I couldn't take them not on at the same time.....at least not if I want to keep my true powers a secret. I had to get the prince alone so I could tell him everything. Even if it's not what he wants to hear, even if he can't believe that it could be true, i needed to tell him and protect him from these faes. But I also had to keep my identity a secret. That night after the welcome events, I made a plan to tell the prince. Step one was to befriend him. I could pretend that I need help with something and get to know him then. Step two was to get him alone and tell him about everything. Step three was to leave with the prince and head back to the old castle. Step four was to rebuild the Sword Country. While I knew there would be issues I knew I had to do this. I promised Rhea that I would protect her son always. I can't go back on that.
