Y/N's POV
" Faster. Come on, run faster!" I thought to myself as I ran up the mountain in the rain. " He went this way. Come on!" I heard one of the villagers behind me say. I turned around for a split second and ended up tripping over a branch, When I got up, I noticed a huge cut on my leg. " Oh no." I said. But then I heard the villagers getting closer. I had no choice but to get up and run. I was in so much pain but I kept running. If they caught me they'd kill me. SO I just kept running. Soon enough i came to a clearing and saw a temple in the distance. " Help! Is anyone there?! I need help!" I screamed. I then felt an arrow pierce my back and I fell to the ground. Through my blurry vision, I could see the villagers coming up to me. I couldn't make out what they were saying but I knew they were going to kill me. " No.....I don't want to die. Someone, save me." I thought to myself. I then started to feel cold, like an icy wind was blowing over me. I then heard some screaming and saw blurry flashes of the villagers running away from something. I turned my head slowly to see a figure approaching me. But because of the blood loss, I ended up blacking out.
Time Skip...
" Mmmm......what happened?" I asked aloud as I regained consciousness. I opened my eyes and found myself staring at a ceiling. I then turned my head and looked around the room I was in. It was a traditional Japanese styled room with tatami floors and walls. There was a window that had a small table next to it. There were some wall scrolls as well adorning the walls. I was also laying on a fluffy futon and I wasn't wearing my normal clothes either. I was in a nice silk robe that felt super soft. I wanted to sit up but my body was in too much pain to. " At least this futon is soft. I can't remember the last time I slept on something so soft." I thought to myself. My thoughts were interrupted when I heard the door to the room slide open. An older man stepped in. " Ah, you're awake." He said. " Um...hello sir." I said. " You were out for five days. Everyone was worried you wouldn't wake up." He said as he sat beside the futon. " May I ask what this place is?" I asked. " You're at the main temple of those who are apart of The Eternal Paradise Faith. Our gracious leader saw you being attacked by those nasty villagers and saved you." The man said. " Your leader saved me?" I asked. He nodded. " Yes. In fact, I should let him know you're awake. he was very eager to meet you once you woke up." The man said. He got up and left my room. A few minutes later, I heard a knock on the door. " C-Come in." I said.
The man from before stepped in but this time he was with someone else. By his side was a man. He had long blond hair and stunning rainbow colored eyes. He wore a red shirt with some black design around the collar and wrists. He also wore these grayish pants with a white belt. I also saw that he had golden fans that were rested at his hip. " Well now. I'm glad to see you're awake." The man said. His voice was so soft and soothing. " May I introduce you to our gracious leader: Douma." The man from before said. The man known as Douma walked up to me and knelt down beside the futon where I was laying. He brought his hand up to my face and pushed a piece of hair out of it. I felt my cheeks heating up. " How are you feeling?" He asked. " I um...good?" I said. He chuckled. " Why are you unsure? Did you hit your head too hard?" He asked. " Sorry." I said. " It's okay. Now, you know my name but I don't know yours." He said. " Oh um....I'm Y/N." I said. " Y/N....hmmm...." He said. I could tell he was thinking about something. " I've decided. You're staying here." He said. " Staying here?" I asked. " Yes, you'll be staying here in the temple where I can keep you safe." He said. " B-But what about my village?" I asked. " The one you were run out of? The one where the villagers tried killing you? Do you really want to go back there?" He asked. I looked down. " Y-You're right. No one wants me there. Why should I even go back?" I said. Out of the corner of my eye, I thought I saw him smirking.
