Y/N's POV
" Another failing grade again Y/N." The professor said as he handed me my test. " W-What? How? I studied so hard." I said. " I don't understand how someone who descended from great scholars could be so ignorant." The professor said. " I-I'm sorry. I'll do better." I said. " If only you were like your older sister. She excels at everything yet you fail at everything. Your family must be so disappointed." The professor said. I started tearing up and ran out of the classroom. I ran through the winding hallways and ended up at the center of The Grove. I sat down near the Titan's Heart and started crying.
As the other students walked by, I could hear them whispering about me. " Isn't that S/N's sister?" I heard one say. " I hear she's at the bottom of every class." Another said. " Nothing like her sister. I'm surprised she wasn't kicked out of the grove." Another said. " Cerces, if you're listening....please give me the knowledge to succeed at my studies. Please..." I prayed to the Titan. My name is Y/N LN. I'm a student at the Grove of Epiphany. I come from a prestigious family of scholars who's works date back to past eras. I'm the youngest in the family but sadly...not the brightest. My sister excels at everything. Academics, music, art, etc. She's always been my parents' favorite. Well, my family's favorite.
When we were both accepted to study at the Grove, I thought this was my time to show my parents I can be as smart as her. But I'm failing and everyone knows it. My family has called me a disappointment and has been constantly comparing me to my sister. I hate it. I just wish I was good enough. " You know that won't work. Even if there was a Titan, I doubt they would help with your plight." I heard a familiar voice say. I turned to see Professor Anaxa. " P-Professor..." I said. Professor Anaxa is one of the seven Sages of the Grove and is one of the prophesied Chrysos heirs. But he doesn't believe in the gods/titans. He only believes in his experiments and alchemy. This had given him the reputation as a blasphemer. But he's still the smartest person i've ever met.
He took the test out of my hands and looked at it. " Hmph. Another failing grade. Yet you didn't listen to what I told you." He said. " I-I'm sorry." I said. I turned my head away from him. " What have I been telling you since i heard about your situation?" He asked. " That I can't do it on my own. That I....need your help." I said sadly. " Exactly." He said. " Can you....help me please?" I asked. " Finally coming to your senses? Fine, I'll help you. Meet me in my alchemy lab after your classes are done." He said. " O-Okay." I said. I got up and headed off to my next class.
Anaxa's POV
I watched Y/N walk off to her next class. " Hmm...things are going perfectly." I said as I walked off. Y/N has been here for the last few years studying alongside her sister. While I don't have Y/N as a student, I do have her sister. One day when her sister forgot something in their shared dorm, Y/N brought it to her. I never thought that i would say this about anyone but she managed to stir up some emotions within me. If I believed in Mnestia, I would say that she was smiling down upon me. Y/N was a vision of beauty. Despite being....below average for intelligence, I found myself lusting after her. I wanted her to be mine and only mine. So I devised a plan. I was going to make her rely on me completely. By playing at her weakness, I would make her reliant on me completely. So I made her believe that she would fail every single test if she didn't come to me for tutoring first. I may have also purposely switched out her tests for harder ones, knowing she would fail it.
