Y/N's POV
" Bow before me you pathetic weaklings." Sukuna said as he stood before us. We all bowed to him out of fear. You could hear the whimpering sounds, the teeth chattering, the unsteady breathing of everyone in that room. I was in the back with my parents, prostrating myself before this monster. About 280 years ago, Sukuna came to our province and took over. We, of course, resisted him but were met with horrible bloodshed. We had no choice but to submit to him. We give him offerings in the hopes to appease him so that he doesn't kill us. Those who don't live up to his expectations get killed. Sometimes he kills just because he wants to. I was born about eighteen years ago. This is the only life I know. I saw him kill someone right in front of everyone's eyes when I was six years old. That's the moment I knew what true fear felt like. Soon enough it was time to give our offerings. We stood up a brought Sukuna some livestock from our farm. Since resources have been low, we had no choice but to give away our livestock. There's hardly any food, water, medicine, and any other necessity needed to live. So we have no choice. We'd rather die of starvation, dehydration, or sickness than get killed by Sukuna. We approached Sukuna and gave him our last remaining chickens. " T-They're very healthy and l-lay eggs frequently." My father said. You could hear the fear in his voice. My mother and I kept our heads down. Sukuna grabbed one of the chickens and examined it. " Hmm....I accept your offerings weaklings. You get to live another day." He said. " Oh thank you Lord Sukuna. We are eternally grateful." My father said. The three of us bowed and went back to our spot. Soon enough everyone gave their offerings and we were allowed to leave. My parents and I returned home. Once we did, my mother broke down crying like she always does. My father started searching for something suitable to give him next week. " We gave away all of our livestock, fabrics, and money. Do you think he'll except our crops? We need to find the best ones." He said. You could hear the panic in his voice. I could tell his mind was close to snapping. I sighed and went to find something to cook for dinner. When my mother gets like this, she's never in the right state of mind to cook. I went into the kitchen and started looking through the cabinets for food but found none.
" Nothing, nothing, nothing." I said as I closed each cabinet. I sighed as I heard the sobs and manic ranting from my mother and father. I opening another cabinet and managed to find a potato. " This is all we have?" I said to myself. I grabbed some of the remaining water and started boiling it above the fire. I then managed to wash the potato with what little water was left. Once it was washed, I peeled it and cut it into pieces. I then put the pieces into a pot and boiled it. My stomach growled at the smell. I haven't eaten in a week. I would always give the food to my parents. Father needed the strength to work the fields and mother always got hungry after crying. At most, I'd be able to have one piece. Once the potato was finished cooking, I divided the pieces evenly and set plates aside for my parents. I ate the last piece and the skin. My mother slowly ate her piece in between the tears and my father started mashing his up and eating it. I sighed out of sadness but held back the tears. I walked back into the kitchen to get some more water but realized we had none. " Out again..." I said. I picked up the bucket and headed to the door. " I'm heading out to get some water." I said. But my parents couldn't hear me over their mania. I sighed again and headed to the well. I could hear the mania of the people of the village as I walked. Corpses and people near death sat on the side of the streets. This village has lost a lot because of Sukuna. I went to the well and tried getting some water. But none came up with the bucket. " Dried out. Maybe there's a stream nearby." I said. I headed towards the forest and started looking for a stream. After a bit of walking, I found a nice stream. " Water..."I said as I collapsed to my knees. I was so weak and hungry but I had to get this water back to my parents. As I filled up the bucket, I heard footsteps coming towards me. " Hello?" I asked. I got no answer. I looked around again but saw no one. " Hello?" I asked again. I then saw a figure emerging from the forest. I froze in fear when I saw who it was. It was Sukuna. I couldn't move. I was too afraid. He stood there and stared at me. " L-Lord Sukuna..." I said. He crossed his four arms and looked me over. " And who might you be?" He asked. " I'm um....Y/N L/N." I said. " The farmer's daughter. I remember you from earlier today. What are you doing this far in the forest?" He asked. " T-The well in the village dried up. I needed water for my family." I said.
