Y/N's POV
" Put those tables over there. No I said the cream colored plates not the white ones. Ugh...the color of the banners are supposed to be golden yellow, not yellow yellow." I said as I commanded the servants around. They quickly scurried off after I gave them their orders. I sighed out of frustration. " Ugh...this party has to go perfectly." I said to myself. My name is Y/N. I'm one of the top servants in the Vanilla Kingdom who serves Pure Vanilla Cookie. I've been serving him since the Kingdom was founded by him all those years ago. I know his likes, dislikes, what he does at different points of the day, who he likes to speak with, who he doesn't particularly like to speak with, and a lot of other things. The other head servants are managing other things at this moment. I was tasked with preparing the Throne Room for the party that was being held tonight. Once every year Pure Vanilla holds a gathering for his friends, advisors, and the people of the kingdom. Everyone is invited to partake in the merriment. However, this is also the most stressful time of year for us servants. We have to make sure everything is perfect. Pure Vanilla Cookie is one of the kindest , most thoughtful people I know. I don't want anyone thinking otherwise. Which is why us servants always make sure this party goes off without any issues.
" Y/N, we have an issue." I heard someone say. I turned to see one of the other servants running towards me. " What's wrong?" I asked. " There's been a delay in shipment so the golden yellow banners won't be in on time." The servant said. I felt my patience thinning. " Okay, we have to improvise. Try finding any golden yellow fabric that can be turned into banners and start making some. i'll search this wing." I said. The servant nodded and we both ran off. I scoured the castle of any spare golden yellow fabric that wasn't being used. I managed to find some spare fabrics and started returning to the Throne Room with them. But because I grabbed so many, I couldn't see where I was going and bumped into someone. " Hey, watch it!" I snapped. But then I peered over the pile and saw Pure Vanilla on the floor on the other side. " M-majesty I'm so sorry!" I said as I helped him up. " It's quite alright Y/N. It was an accident. But may I ask what you're doing with a pile of fabric?" He asked. " It was for the party tonight. They sent us the wrong color and we wouldn't be able to get the right one in on time. So I had to improvise." I said. He let out a small chuckle. " Haha. I should've expected that. You're always so innovative and creative. But it's okay if the colors are off. It doesn't have to be perfect and I don't want you to become exhausted because you're stressed." He said. He came behind me and rubbed my shoulders a bit. I smiled. " Thank you Your Majesty. But I promise I'm fine." I said. I stepped away from him and picked up the fabrics. " I'll be in the Throne Room if you need me." I said as I walked off.
I went back to the Throne Room and the servant from before gave me the fabrics they found. We used those as the banners and it looked pretty good. " Okay. Next I have to finalize the guest list, check on the food preparations, make sure the orchestra is all set for tonight, check on the seating arrangement, and a bunch of other things to do. Witches I hope nothing goes wrong." I said. I could feel my stress levels rising. " Y/N?" I heard someone ask. I turned to see another servant. " What is it? I'm incredibly busy so make it quick." I said. " Pure Vanilla Cookie requested your presence in the garden." The servant said. I took a breath to try and calm down. " Very well. I hope whatever he wants is quick though." I said. I then followed the servant outside. When I stepped outside, I saw Pure Vanilla sitting at a small table with some tea and cakes to enjoy. I walked up to him and he motioned for the other servant to leave us alone. " You wanted to see me Your Majesty?" He asked. " Yes. I was wondering if you wanted to join me for some tea? The weather is wonderful today and you seem like you need a break." He said with a smile. I didn't have time for this but couldn't say no to the King. " If you would like me to join you I will." I said. His smile got a bit wider and I sat down. He picked up the pot and poured me some tea. " I can do that Your Majesty." I said. " Nonsense. I want you to relax." He said. I sighed but let him did as he pleased. Once he was finished I drank some of the tea. It did help me calm my nerves a bit. " Aaah~ This is nice." He said. " It is." I said. But I really did need to get back to work. A few minutes later a servant came out and walked over to us. " Sorry to bother you both but I need to speak to Y/N." The servant said. " What's wrong?" I asked. " Half of the cream colored plates have scratches on them." The servant said. My grip got tighter on the teacup. " Is that all?" I asked. " Well....the orchestra decided to bring extra members so we need more chairs for them." The servant said. I gripped the handle of the teacup harder. " Anything else?" I asked. " We...also had to throw out half of the jellies since one of the kitchen servants forgot to put them in the proper place and they went bad. So...we're creating new ones but they might not be ready for the party tonight." The servant said.
