MELISA DIDN'T know how long it had been since Freddie said he was grabbing some glasses from the back, but she was getting impatient. They had a full house, and she really needed them.

She told Otis she would grab some glasses before heading to the door. This was a part of the routine. Nothing seemed off.

The following five seconds felt like a normal shift, and in a swift moment, it didn't.

It took her a moment to register what was in front of her. The smile faded away, and she felt like her heart dropped to her stomach. Her blood ran cold, and her heart started racing.

Melisa rushed over to Hermann's side, her hands pressing down against his stomach, where the blood was coming from. Hermann tried to talk, but Melisa wasn't sure she heard him over the buzzing sound in her ear. She grabbed a towel nearby and pressed it against the wound.

"GABBY! OTIS!" She wasn't even aware of how loud her voice was. All she knew was that Hermann was bleeding out in front of her, and she had to do something.

Melisa did her best to stop the bleeding. She tried not to focus too much on the blood that was covering her hands as images flashed in her head of the night she killed her stalker. All that progress was jumping back by the second.

Gabby and Otis had heard her scream and rushed over immediately. Both froze when they saw what was happening. Hermann was bleeding out, and Melisa was kneeling over him, trying to stop the bleeding.

"Call 911!" Gabby jumped into action. She ran back to the bar where her phone was to call 911.

When Hermann was carried out on a stretcher, everyone left the bar. They watched as he was taken into the ambulance. Gabby went with him, and the ambulance drove away.

Melisa stood and watched this happen. She couldn't go with them—she just couldn't. Every second, it dawned on her more and more what had just happened.

She could feel her hands shaking as she tried not to cry. Kelly, on the other hand, was angry. He was angry at Freddie and at Cruz, who was the reason Freddie was in their lives and the reason their friends hired him.

Melisa looked over when he heard Kelly and Cruz talking to each other. It was over Freddie. She managed to catch his eyes.

Kelly had one look at her bloodied hands and teary eyes and went to her side immediately. He hugged her tight and kissed the top of her head. "He's gonna be okay."
