The two glared at each other for a moment before Nate jumped back and yelled "Slow down!" Athena looked around as she could see the boy had used his World Lag technique.
"Oh, fine. I will humor you," Athena sighed as even in slow motion, she managed to dodge a sword swing up at her head.
"I can't remember the last time anyone's actually... hit me!" He told Athena as he swung down at her head, but she blocked with her spear "Ya know... pain, it's not as bad as I remember."
He spun his sword into his underhand and raised it up into the air while funneling Bifrost into the blade. He let out a grunt as he stabbed the weapon into the ground. The moment the blade pieced through the ground, a small Bifrost explosion erupted. Athena stepped back to avoid the blast, then created another spear. She jumped at him and stabbed down at his head, but Nate leaned out of the way of the attack. He jumped back and to the side, then Athena threw a spear at him. He knew he couldn't avoid it given its speed, so he just shifted his body so it would only graze his arm. He rushed toward her and slapped another spear away as he stabbed at her chest. She jumped away from the attack, then stabbed at his eyes, but he just leaned out of the way of the strike.
"You fight like a stillborn boar," Nate taunted her as he leapt away from another stab.
She threw another spear at him, but he used the sword to bat the weapon away. She used another spear and threw it up into the air, intending for it to fall down through his head. Nate looked up and jumped to the side, rolling over his shoulder as he landed. He got up, jumped at Athena, and stabbed at her ribs. She just blocked the attack, then ducked underneath a sword swing at his head. While she was down, Nate stepped behind her, and kicked her in the back. She barely even noticed, turned around, and punched him in the stomach. He fell to one knee and she grabbed a stick off the ground, then stabbed him in the kidney. He yelled out in pain and she created another spear in her hand. She swung the spear at his head, but he ducked underneath the attack and they both spun. They swung their weapons at one another and their weapons collided. Athena stepped forward and heel kicked him in the chest, sending him sprawling on his back.
"You will not be a challenge for me," She told him calmly while looking down on him.
Nate scrambled back up to his feet and yelled "Shut it!"
Athena jumped at him and stabbed at his chest, but Nate leapt away from the attack. She looked back at him and slammed the butt of her spear to the ground, emitting a powerful shockwave. Nate grunted loudly as he was knocked backwards by the attack, then shook his head, and used Bifrost to cover himself.
"Aha! There we go, armor fit for a God," He said as he looked up at her again "Now, let's try this again." Nate ran at her and punched her spear to the ground "I say it's time I ended this!"
"I agree," Athena replied as she roundhouse kicked him in the side of the knee, which knocked him to the ground "However, this fight has not gone the way you most likely hoped it would." She grabbed him by the throat and squeezed as she lifted him up into the air.
"Hoped... yeah, I hoped it wouldn't go this way..." Nate struggled to say as he shook around, trying to break her hold "But I... expected it... to be like this..." He punched her in the jaw, then began to hit her elbow to make her let go.
Athena tilted her head and smiled at Nate, then swung her fist across his face. She let him go and watched as he fell to his hands and knees on the ground. Athena took her battle helmet off and tossed it down at Nate, letting the heavy armor slam against his back. He yelled out in pain as the heavy helmet fell directly down onto his spine. He turned around and grunted as he stood back up, then he swung a hook punch at his enemy's ear. She blocked the attack and palmed him in the chest, sending him flying backwards. He backrolled up to his feet and she jumped at him, so he blocked a punch to his face, but couldn't block the next one to his stomach. This time, he fell vertically down to his knees and looked up at Athena.
"You're not takin' Beth," He told her while blood trickled out of his mouth.
"Yes, I am."
She hook punched him across the jaw while knocking him to the left in a violent tumble. Before he hit the ground, Athena slammed her other fist into his nose. Nate fell backwards and got back up to one knee while coughing up a bit of blood. She grabbed Nate by the hood of his jacket and lifted him up in the air. She swung him over her head and into a house, causing his head to bounce off the stone steps when he landed.
"Stay down, I will not tell you again," Athena told him.
Nate looked up at her and laughed a little, then turned over on his stomach, and pushed himself back up, "Think I can't keep going?" He asked this while using one hand to support himself using the wall.
"Fine."
She stepped forward and kicked Nate in the chest, sending him crashing through the cabin door. The girl inside screamed and covered herself up, then froze when she actually took in what was happening. Nate... just got hit, and by the looks of it, she could tell this wasn't the first time. Nate used her bed to try and pull himself up and the girl grabbed his hand to help him. When he was up, the two looked at one another and nodded, then Nate was kicked in the chest again. He fell against the wall of the cabin and Athena grabbed him before throwing him out into the street again. He shakily got back up to his feet and Athena walked out of the house. Nate looked back at the infirmary, sensing that Beth was back on her feet.
"Oh yeah, now, you decide to wake up, ya lazy bitch," Nate groaned as he looked back at Athena "Alright, A, let's finish this up already."
Nate swung a punch up at her nose, but she grabbed his wrist, pushed his arm away, and elbowed him across the eye. He staggered backwards and closed his eyes for a moment so his blood wouldn't get in it. He looked up and was immediately punched in the other eye, which knocked him down onto his stomach facing away from her. He groaned and got back up, then he leaned away from a stab to his neck, and was slashed across the cheek by the spear. He yelled as he fell back against a wall and he didn't even have enough time to get his bearings again before she punched him across the jaw. Nate stumbled and fell to the ground on his stomach. He grunted as his chest hit the ground, and then when he was about to get up, Athena stomped on the back of his head.
Beth came out just in time to see Nate's head be slammed down into the ground. Athena stepped off of Nate and for the first time... he didn't get up. Beth waited for about five seconds, but Nate didn't get up, and was hardly even moving. She let out a yell which shocked Kenneth and Hayden. She had never screamed like this before, so no one had expected it. She ran up behind Athena and stabbed her through the back with her leg mounted dagger. Athena looked down and turned around, only for Beth to strike her across the face. Athena's head was knocked to the side, but other than that, she barely felt it, like all the attacks the Demigods had unleashed on her before.
She turned back to her daughter and sighed, "Well, it seems that the problem of loyalty does not just lie with the boys who seem so infatuated by you." She looked down at Nate and stomped on his back, causing him to groan quietly and pitifully "Let us see what we can do about that." She looked behind her and saw the dagger stuck in what would have been her spine "Oh, look at that. You managed to make me bleed... but as the saying goes..." She reached back and effortlessly tore the weapon out of her back, the wound healing just a few seconds later "Never wound, what you can not kill." Beth looked down at the bloodied blade in horror, then Athena picked her up by the throat "Such a shame that two powerful warriors must die tonight." She swung Beth and threw her into a building "Actually... no, I have a better idea." Athena jumped up onto the entry gate of the camp and yelled out "My daughter! Listen to me! You have three years to join the ranks of my Athenian Warriors. If you do not come see me, I will kill everyone you have ever cared about one by one every day until you do. I do not want to resort to that, but it will be what happens. That is all, farewell!" She jumped up into the sky and turned into an owl again, then flew off into the night sky.
