Nike had expected to cut Kenneth off by going down an alley, but that failed. Kenneth just ran next to her, trying to get a solid hit in, but he couldn't. They ran up a temple's wall and used its roof to bounce to another house. Kenneth kicked Nike in the stomach and ran across the house's wall. He watched as she managed to land on another house and she ran down the side of it. Kenneth quickly followed her, but Nike ran up the building to his left. Kenneth ran in a straight line after her and watched her leap to another building. Kenneth ran up its wall and continued to chase her through Olympus, both of them running through the city in the twilight lit city. They ran up another tall tower and dashed to opposite directions to meet each other on the other side. They collided and Kenneth tackled her with a yell. They struggled in the air for a few seconds before Nike punched him in the stomach. They fell away from each other, landed, and continued their deadly chase. They ran up and down streets, slamming each other through walls, and running through beasts, people, and even a few very minor Gods. They were both covered in several types of blood, but neither seemed to care.
Kenneth began to run away again and Nike scoffed "Really, child? The moment you realize you can not defeat me, you run like a coward? I suppose I should live up to my title now." She saw him run toward the courtyard and... found no one, well no one she was looking for "Heh, the boys have their playmates, now to find-"
"Me?" She was about to turn around when Kenneth knocked her away, over the seemingly frozen battle Marc and Nate were having against Zelus and Cratus.
"Oh, okay..." Nike got up and shrugged it off "You think that minimal damage will be enough to take me down?"
"We have already killed one of your siblings, what would make you any different?" Kenneth asked while cracking his knuckles.
"How about you find out?"
They ran at each other and Kenneth swung a punch at Nike's jaw, but she ducked under the attack. She moved behind him and swung an uppercut into his kidney. He grunted in pain, then she punched him in the spine. Luckily the armor that Hephaestus had given them was still holding up, so the punch didn't do much. He turned around and hook punched her across the jaw, then knelt down, and punched her in the hip. Kenneth got back up and punched her across the face again, then grabbed her, and ran her through Olympus again. He dragged her back across a long temple, then bounced back and forth to slam her head into walls. He jumped and slammed her down through the main city's floor. They fell down into the tunnels under the city and continued their battle.
"Yeah, you do not seem too much tougher than your siblings."
"That is why I am the smart one."
Nike slammed his head into the wall of the tunnel, then kicked him in the head. She pulled her fist back and swung at the side of his head again, but he rolled out of the way of the attack. Kenneth got up and slammed a hook punch across Nike's jaw. She shook it off and uppercut Kenneth in the jaw to knock him back. He stepped back toward her and punched her in the ribs. Nike grunted as she bent to absorb the attack and returned with a kick to the inside of his knee. Kenneth winced as he stepped back and shook out his leg before punching Nike in the nose. The two began running all around Olympus, even other Gods stood still in their points of view. After about a quarter second, Nike lost sight of Kenneth, who tackled her against a wall.
She fell to the ground and he pinned her to the wall while telling her "I hope you remember what you did to my mother, because what I will do to you will look merciful in comparison." He turned and threw her through the wall behind them. "I hope you enjoy fighting, because this will be your best and your last one." He stood on the back of her knee and punched her in the back of the head "get up." He pulled her up by the back of her neck, then slammed an uppercut into her sternum again.
After her battle with Aiden, Beth was climbing the stairs back up to the Olympian Throne Room. She knew her mother would still be there and knowing her, she would be sitting on Zeus's throne. Beth was still unsure how she was supposed to defeat Athena if Aiden, a mere Demigod, had given her as much trouble as he did. She used Gungnir as a walking stick as she traversed the latter half of the stairs. When she finally made it all the way up the throne room and pushed the doors open. She handed Gungnir over to her left hand and pulled Hofund off of her back. She looked around at the darkened throne room, but she couldn't see Athena.
"My family..." Athena's voice echoed through the room as flaming arrows lit up the torches on the left side of the circular throne room "My enemy..." More flaming arrows ignited the rest of the torches "It was foolish to challenge me."
"Show yourself, mother!" Beth called out while holding her Asgardian weapons in a guard position.
A flag of Ares fell down from the ceiling and Beth calmly cut it away. As her back was facing the largest of the thrones, Zeus's, Athena jumped down from the rafters. Beth didn't even notice her mother until she landed with a loud thud. Unlike every other time Beth had met her, Athena was wearing an armored chest plate and shin guards while also weaning a single sleeved toga. Beth readied her weapons and Athena called forth a spear of her own. It flew into her hand and Aegis flew to her left arm.
"I will give you one last chance, Elizabeth," Athena told her daughter "Join the ranks of Olympus."
"Never, I would never turn against my friends, not even Noah."
"Then... perish with them!!!"
She leapt toward her daughter and stabbed down at her head, but Beth ran to the side. She jumped on Ares' throne and bounced back toward her mother. She swung Hofund down at her head, but Athena blocked the blade with Aegis. She threw Beth toward another throne, so she jumped off of Hera's, and stabbed Gungnir at Athena's head. Athena looked back and jumped away at the last possible second, then ran at Beth. Her daughter landed, spun around, and blocked Athena's slash with Hofund. Beth flipped Gungnir into her underhand and stabbed at Athena's pelvis. The Goddess used her own spear to knock Odin's away, then swung the weapon down at Beth's head. She brought Gungnir back up and knocked Athena's weapon backwards. She used the momentum of the attack to follow up with a spin, then slashed at Beth's neck.
She leaned backwards underneath the attack, then when Athena stabbed again, Beth brought Gungnir up and yelled "Hindrun." A translucent crimson barrier in the shape of a sphere formed around her.
It shattered when it was impacted, but Beth was left completely unharmed. Athena growled and ran at her daughter again, swinging her spear up to knock Hofund backwards. She jumped up into the air, spun, and kicked Beth in the nose. Athena's daughter stumbled backwards and had to intentionally fall backwards to avoid her mothers next attack. Athena spun around again and swung the tip of her spear at Beth's head, but she rolled backwards. They both spun around as Beth got up and slashed at each other's head. Their weapons clashed and Beth stepped behind Athena.
She kicked her mother in the back and pointed Gungnir down at her before saying "Hækka og stjórna." A covering of dim orange energy covered Athena.
Beth raised her up into the air, then threw her into Zeus's throne. Athena fell onto her back and the backrest of the throne crumbled. She got back up and rolled away from Beth's next stab with Hofund. She spun around and swung her spear at Beth's head, but she blocked with Hofund, and put Gungnir on her back. Athena stabbed at her daughter's head, but Beth blocked the attack with Heimdallr's sword. Beth used the momentum of the block to spin around and she swung down at Athena's head. The Goddess blocked the attack with the pole of her spear, then knocked Beth's weapon aside. Beth decided to use the same move Athena had earlier so she jumped, spun, and kicked her in the nose. Athena stumbled back and wiped the golden ichor from her face, then slashed at Beth's side. She landed and blocked the attack with a downward swing, then leapt over Athena when she stabbed at her again. Athena turned around and swung at Beth's stomach, but she leapt back, and landed on Poseidon's throne.
"This all you got?" Beth asked.
"I am just getting started," Athene retorted.
The two ran at each other and swung at each other's head again, but their weapons each blocked the other. They landed behind each other and Beth took Gungnir off her back while she turned around. Athena swung her spear down at her head, but she blocked it with the pole of Odin's spear. She stabbed at Athena's stomach with Hofund, but she jumped backwards. Athena shook her head, then jumped, and swung her spear down at Beth's head. She stepped back and Athena spun around with the momentum of the attack. She launched herself into the air and Beth decided to do a stationary front flip. Beth ducked under Athena's flying roundhouse kick, then her frontflip let her avoid a swing down at her head. Beth held both of her Asgardian weapons over her head, then as she fell back down, and swung them down at Athena's head. The Goddess used the pole of her spear to block the attack. They pushed against each other for half a second before Athena pushed her daughter backwards. Beth swung Hofund at Athena's neck and stomach, but both were blocked by her mother's spear. Beth leapt over her mother and while she was upside down in the air, she tried to swing at Athena's back, but she turned, and blocked the attack.
"You look tired, Elizabeth," Athena told her as she swung down at her again.
"Not tired," Beth as she stepped backwards and blocked the next slash "Just hurt." She jumped backwards again, then front flipped forward, and kicked Athena in the face with both feet.
Beth landed, spun, and swung at her mother's face, but she blocked blade with the pole of her spear. She moved to push Beth away, then spun, and batted Hofund out of her hand. It went flying and stabbed into Hermes' throne, which left Beth with only Gungnir. Athena swung her spear's tip at her neck, but Beth ducked underneath the attack. She flipped her spear into her underhand, then stabbed at Beth, but she backrolled backwards. She got back up and took Gungnir off of her back. Their spare poles and clashed and used the same move Athena had to throw her next to her. Beth got on Athena's back and began to choke her mother with her spear pole.
"Pathetic," Athena growled as she grabbed the pole and threw Beth back to the doors of the throne room.
Beth got back up and threw Gungnir at Hofund and knocked it free. Athena just let her do whatever she was planning, curious as to the nature of the weapons. In the split second that both Asgardian weapons were in the right position, Beth called Gungnir back. It flew into her left hand and the sword was knocked to the floor at her feet. Beth picked it up and glared up at her mother, taking a deep breath before cracking her neck.
Beth began to run forward and she yelled "Áfram árás!" She was sent flying forward in a yellow burst of magical power and she crashed into her mother, which sent her sprawling onto her back right in front of the Hearth of Hestia "Stalagmítar!" Green Bifrost power emanated on the ground beneath Athena and a stalagmite knocked her up into the air and while she landed, Beth ran at her, using the stalagmite as something to leap off of "Hlífðarhylki!" Beth was encased in a blue crystal like coating as she landed, which stopped her from moving, but when Athena struck it, she was knocked back by the casing's shockwave as it broke away.
Beth's use of magic strained heavily on her body and she knew she wouldn't be able to use it again for a few minutes. Nevertheless, she had very little time to think as she was in the most intense battle she had ever taken part in. it made sense, seeing as how she was fighting not only an Olympian, but her own mother. Thor, sure he had been much stronger physically, but her speed advantage over him kept the fight as even as she could've hoped for. Here, she was just trying everything she had to survive and beat her mother. That burst of Bifrost power was the most headway she had made in the fight so far, but it still felt as though she had done very little.
"It is unwise to lower your defenses!" Beth heard Athena scold and instinctively she blocked whatever attack Athena threw at her.
She knocked Athena's spear back, then Athena swung up at Beth;s chin, but she stepped back to dodge. Athena lifted her weapon high above her head, then swung it down with the force of one of Zeus's thunderbolts. Beth knew she couldn't block the attack, so she jumped away from the impact creating a long crack through the entire throne room. She stepped forward and swung Hofund at Athena's head, but she blocked with the spear. Beth jumped at Athena and swung both weapons down at her mother's head.
She pushed Beth behind her and her daughter decided to use another spell, yelling "Eldur sprakk!" A burst of amethyst shot out of Gungnir's tip.
She was struck in the back and fell on her stomach, which gave Beth an opening to attack. She jumped up and flipped the sword into her underhand and stabbed down at her mother. She rolled out of the way, then got up, spun around, and slashed Beth's stomach. She looked down at the blood trickling down her stomach and held her hand over the wound for a moment. She looked back up at her, only to be knocked down by Athena. She fell on her back and Athena tried to stab her, but Beth grabbed her spear's pole, holding it just a few centimeters from her heart. Beth decided to take a chance and rolled backwards while kicking her mother back. She grabbed her weapons off the floor and fell to her knees. Athena walked toward her, then swung her spear's tip at Beth's head. She brought Hofund up in front of her face and blocked the attack.
The more magic she used, the less energy she would have for the rest of the fight, but Beth didn't have a choice, so she put the tip of Gungnir to Athena's stomach, and said softly "Slá til baka..." Athena was thrown back into Apollo's throne by a blast of bloody red energy.
Beth was still breathing heavily and looked down at her stomach, then pointed Gungnir's tip at the wound, and muttered "Græða sárið." She watched as her wound closed up and the skin sealed itself again using an orange light. "Okay... now, how about we continue?"
Athena stepped off of the throne and replied with a simple "Gladly."
She ran at Beth and swung her spear down at her daughter's head, but she blocked the attack. She pushed Athena behind her and kicked her in the back of the leg. Athena stumbled and fell to her knees, which gave Beth another opening to attack. Using the movement of her kick, she spun around, and swung Hofund down at Athena's head. She blocked the attack, then kicked Beth in the stomach, right where the wound had healed. Beth staggered backwards and then stepped back to avoid another slash from the spear. Beth's stomach scar was still incredibly vulnerable to attack, so she had to think quickly as to not be taken out... so she decided to throw Gungnir at her mother. Athena just sidestepped the attack and let the spear made of Ymir's bones clatter to the floor.
