Nate burst into the room and saw Eden, Eir, and Kenneth standing around the bed, so he asked "What happened?"
"Well, I managed to make sure she survived," Eir explained "However, her body seems to be in deep sleep. It doesn't look like she'll wake up without some kind of trigger. Say, sensing her friends being endangered or something like that."
"And what are the chances of some disaster striking?" Nate asked.
"Very slim, but still possible," Eir replied, which caused Nate to sigh.
"Alright, well..."
"Nate!!!"
"Oh, great. What now?" Nate asked as they all turned toward where the yell had come from "Athena's back. Ah... crap." Nate cracked his knuckles "Alright, I'm gonna go talk to her." It was clear that the run had calmed him down from the fight with Hayden "Hopefully I'll be able to talk her down." Eden nodded, seeing that his eyes were back to their usual slow, calm, and vibrant selves.
"Please don't die," Eir asked of him "She sounds... enraged."
"Yeah, I can hear that," Nate agreed while looking out the window "Hey, is there a secret tunnel out of here or something? I'd like to make her search for Beth as hard as I can if I can't stop her."
Eir nodded and replied "Down the hall, take the first door on the left, then walk two tiles down, and punch through the third one you stand on. The entire row is built with pressure plates that will open up a small tunnel. It will get you to the gate to the haven."
"Thanks, Eir. I'll be back." He ran down to the armory and grabbed a sword in its sheath, then went down to the secret tunnel.
"Do you hear me, Nate!?" Athena called out while creating a powerful shockwave "Bring me my daughter! Bring me my chosen leader!"
Nate walked up behind her and replied with "Yeah, well she's leading her own path at the moment..." Athena turned around and snarled at him "And I don't think you're a part of it. Get out of here and let this be the last time we see each other. Remember, last time you said it was goodbye." He turned away and she glared down at him, dwarfing his measly five foot nine stature with her six foot seven.
"We will see about that." She summoned a spear to her hand and threw the weapon at the back of his head.
Nate heard it coming, leaned to the side, and caught it without looking, then told her "Okay... I guess you wanna do this the hard way." He turned around to attack her, only for Athena to slam the heel of her boot into his chest "What the-!?" He yelled in pain as he crashed against the sign and he fell unconscious to the ground.
"Now, to find-" Something began running all around her, seemingly bouncing off of every cabin and building "What is this?" The blur came to a stop in front of her and she saw Kenneth "Have you come to give me what is mine?"
"Only if you can catch me. We should go for a run." He turned and began to play a dangerous game of chase with her, and when he looked back, he noticed that her Owl form was able to just barely keep up with him.
He ran up the library of the camp and looked down as she just flew in a straight line after him. He got in front of her again, then ran up Eir's infirmary and then jumped toward the Greek praying temple. He bounced off of it to the Norse praying temple and looked down to see the owl right on his heels again. Kenneth ran in a wide circle to confuse her, then darted down another street. Someone was coming out of his cabin and Kenneth swerved out of his way while Athena just flew over him.
Mikayla used a spell which granted her the ability to speak into Kenneth's mind for only a couple of seconds and told him "Kenneth, you've gotta adopt a new strategy. She's moving faster than you now."
"But I know the camp better than her, so I will use that."
They dashed all throughout the camp, darting around houses and through trees. Whenever Kenneth would run down a street, Athena would do the same less than half a second later. He tried moving through a little alleyway between cabins, but when he came out, she was flying right next to him. He wasn't wearing his winged shoes, so he couldn't run on the air, but he could still go a little faster. Kenneth pushed himself as hard as he could and ran up the wall of the Mess Hall. He climbed up it and the two chased each other around on its roof before he ran back down to the ground once again. They ran through the streets and Kenneth ran up the frozen lightning bolt again. Athena followed him up and when he grabbed it to swing himself in a new direction, she just followed his movement. Kenneth was running for his life, but it soon became clear that this was simply child's play for Athena. He launched himself down into the forest and bounced off a tree before trying to lose her in the thick foliage. They raced through the trees and around the boulders littered throughout the forest. Every now and then, Kenneth would run through an animal, which blew it up instantaneously given the speed he was running. He was covered in blood, organs, and bones of deer and squirrels.
He ran over the water and back toward the camp proper and she surpassed him, but didn't attack him, which made him ask "Wait, what?" She began racing through every building "Oh, no."
He ran after her and did his best to keep her away from any doors or windows as even he himself didn't know where Beth was. He had not caught where they were taking her, so he did his best to make sure she wouldn't get into any buildings. They raced into Eir's infirmary and the Valkyrie hid Beth underneath a trap door so she wouldn't be spotted. They ran through the room and Athena looked around, but since she didn't see Beth, she just kept searching other rooms. Kenneth came into the room about two seconds after Athena did and watched as she flew through the window.
"She is relentless," He said as he panted for breath "Alright... you can do this." He took one more deep breath in and blasted out of the broken window.
He jumped out of the window and it didn't take long to find the owl, so he continued chasing her. They ran over and around houses, Athena relentless in her pursuit. Kenneth got tired of this and attempted to attack by jumping at her. She looked back and swerved to the right to avoid his attack. His fist broke through the ground and he rolled back to his feet to continue the chase. As she checked inside each window she spotted, Kenneth built up his own speed by bouncing off of a bunch cabins. She was checking inside Nate's cabin as he tackled her to the ground. They both tumbled to the ground and Athena returned back to her normal form. She got back up and then transformed into her owl form again to continue the search.
"You are not getting away!" Kenneth called after her as he got back up to his feet.
She looked back and grumbled "Okay, fine. I suppose I can take a minute or two to check your skill."
She turned around and flew at him like a dart, but he ducked under the attack. She turned back into her human form and he looked back at her, only to be punched in the jaw. He stepped back, then used his forearm to block another punch. He used his other fist to swing a hook punch into Athena's jaw. She retaliated with a knee to the stomach, which knocked him back.
"Stand down. There is no way for you to win this," She ordered him, then turned into the owl again, and flew away.
"Oh, no! You do not get to run away."
Kenneth followed her and jumped onto the roof of a cabin after grabbing a spear. He jumped up and threw it at her, then continued to run after her. Athena dove out of the way of the spear, then used her small size to fit underneath a bench. Kenneth just jumped over the bench, ripped an armrest out of it, and threw it at her. Kenneth watched as Athena began to fly away again and the moment he landed, he rushed after her. She flew up into the air as he threw a battle axe at her, but she just swerved away from the weapon. She flew in front of Kenneth and the two continued to rush through the camp. Athena transformed into her human form again and grabbed a spear that Kenneth had just thrown. She turned around while in the air and threw it back at Kenneth. The son of Hermes stopped, spun around, and kicked it away. The two separated and dashed in polar opposite directions. They both used whatever they were around to run up, then back down to gain speed. Athena waited until they were about to collide, then reverted to her human form. She held her arm out and her bicep slammed into Kenneth's throat.
He went flying up into the air and she said "Now, I think it is about time we ended this." She reached up and caught him, then slammed him down onto the ground. "It is a shame for such a powerful demigod to die this way." She pinned him to the ground and punched him twice in the sternum "You would have made an amazing Athenian Warriors." She picked him back up by his throat, turned, and threw him away "But, I see your loyalty to my daughter has clouded your judgment. Very well." She let him skid across the ground, then turned into her owl form again, and flew toward him 'I do not understand you two, what is your fascination with my daughter?' She clamped and dug her talons into his shoulder, which caused him to yell out in pain as she dragged him across the ground 'But that being said...' She threw him down to the ground and watched him roll over on his back before turning back into her human form and she stood over him "You are pathetic," She spat at him "You do not deserve the speed you have been given, however my forces do-!"
She was about to finish Kenneth off when an animal suddenly roared next to her. She looked back and saw Gulltoppr charging at her. She recognized him as Heimdallr's mount, which was why him being here confused her. She looked up at the rider and saw Nate glaring down at her as they ran her down. She braced for impact and the animal headbutted her in the ribs. She grunted as Gulltoppr pushed her against a house and Nate got up on his feet.
As she began to push the Asgardian Horned Lion off of her, Nate roundhouse kicked her in the temple, then stomped her head into the wall as he asked "Having fun yet!?" He turned away and kicked her head through the wall as he leapt off of Gulltoppr.
"That chase did give me some fun," She admitted as she kneed the lion in the jugular, then pushed him off of herself "How about we test if the beast can give me a similar challenge, shall we?" Gulltoppr roared and charged at her, but since she was ready this time, she just grabbed his horns "Wow, for such a large beast I expected it to put up at least a bit of a fight." She threw the beast away and he crashed down in the forest, right at the edge of the river bank.
"Gulltoppr!" Nate called after his companion "Alright, you and me then!" She threw another spear at him and he said "Oh look, the sticks are back." He caught it calmly, but then she somehow made it explode, which he had not seen coming "Urgh... what the?" He looked up at her and ducked underneath a hook punch "Still a bit faster than you, huh?" He swung up a backfist, but she grabbed his wrist without a second thought. "What in the-" He was cut off when she hook punched him across the face and let him stumble backwards "Augh! Damn it, you..." He took in what just happened and felt the place where she had hit him "You..." He looked down at the blood on his palm and fingers, then showed it to her as he hissed "You... actually hit me."
