As Nate walked around Calypso's isle, he found himself growing more and more bored each minute. Maybe he should've humored her, but that would've gone against his nature. He was a stubborn person through and through. All he could do was look around the island, but there was nothing he could do to get off of it, and even if he could, where would he go? Even with the spell undone, he couldn't find any land that would be useful to travel to. He groaned as he kicked a rock into the water, having grown bored over the past several hours... until he heard horses coming from... somewhere behind him. When he turned, he saw a chariot being pulled across the sky. For a moment, he assumed it was Helios coming to speak to Calypso for some reason... but then he looked a bit closer. He saw the horses were breathing fire from their nostrils and fire constantly trickled out of their slightly open mouths. The four pyrokinetic equestrians were being controlled by a man holding their golden reins. The man was wearing armor that closely resembled that of a spartan, even matched with a red cape. On his head, he had a spartan style helmet which hid most of his face.
As he got closer to Nate, the Demigod grew more and more frustrated before he finally just screamed "Don't you Olympians know when to give up!?!" He began charging toward the chariot and jumped up toward it.
When he reached the chariot, he hopped along the horse' backs to reach Ares. When he was finally in range, he pulled his Bifrost fist back for a massive attack. Unfortunately, Ares had seen this coming and grabbed him by the face. His massive hand actually managed to grab Nate's entire face and he slammed the back of the Demigod's head on the inside rim of his chariot. Nate used his Bifrost hand to try and pry Ares' hand off of his face while using his left to punch him in the face over and over. He knocked him out for a split second and pushed his hand off of his face and was about to throw him down into the ocean when Ares woke up and grabbed him by the throat.
"I've been waiting for this!" Ares told him as he held Nate so tight that he couldn't speak. "Ever since you fought my friends, they would not shut up about you kids, so now I'm gonna take a crack at ya." He slammed Nate's head down onto the chariot again with his free fist and stomped his head to knock him out.
He threw him in the back of the chariot and began to drive his horses back to Olympus. Little did he know, Nate had only been disoriented and not knocked out. He groaned and got back up to his feet, then launched himself. He body slammed Ares and made him lose his control of the chariot. He turned to face Nate as they began to fly every which way. Nate kneed him in the stomach and pinned him down as he began to slam his fists into Ares over and over. The God of War finally dodged an attack and punched up at Nate's nose. He leaned out of the way, but Ares pulled his arm back to elbow Nate in the side of the neck. With the Demigod disoriented, Ares kicked him in the chest with both feet simultaneously. He fell on the floor again and Ares got on top of him. Before he could attack, Nate grabbed him, and pulled them both over the edge.
"What are you thinking, you idiot?" Ares asked as they both held onto the side "If your plan had worked, we both would've gone into the sea."
"No," Nate replied. "Just you."
"Arrogant little..."
He let go with one hand and punched at Nate's head, but he blocked, and punched Ares instead. He grabbed the chariot with both hands again and kneed the God of War in the kidney. He moved over and crawled on top of Ares and elbowed him on the top of the... helmet. He tried to climb back up to the chariot, but Ares wasn't about to let that happen. He pulled him down by the ankles and swung his head against the underside of the chariot. He let the Demigod go and decided to just leave him to drown. He climbed back up to get back to the reins.
When he was about to take the reins again, he heard "What's up, bitch ass!!!" He turned and Nate slammed his Bifrost fist into his nose from the opposite side that he had fallen off of the chariot.
Where Nate came from, Ares had no idea, but that was not the most of his problems at the moment. They both fell out of the chariot and wrestled in the air for a bit. Everything came to a sudden halt though as they landed on a beach in Fjord Norway... well, that was lucky. They both pushed themselves up to their feet and Ares called his massive greatsword, which seemed to be made of bronze or copper, back to his hands. Hewas about to sheathe it on his back when he looked around at all the unintended audience. Now, he had an idea. He would make nate go help the onlookers... unfortunately, he knew very little about Nate other than his fighting capabilities. If it wasn't any of his friends, he did not care in the least. He dragged his blade through the sand before swinging it out. Around them, a huge ring of pure red flames ignited. He had expected Nate to go and help people to get away from the flames, but he just watched them, seemingly mesmerized by the flames.
"Look, kid. I had fun with our little scuffle earlier," Ares admitted "But I think we've come to your end now, don't you agree?" Nate turned back and glared at him defiantly, yet silently "Oh, you disagree? Then come on and fight!" He reached behind him and pulled out a spare sword "Pick it up if you're so willing to battle a God."
Nate looked down at the sword, seeing it was a long bladed, dual hand allowing xiphos, the types of swords that Spartans would be seen with. He smiled and took his jacket off, mainly because it was soaked and also covered in sand, it was very uncomfortable. He used his foot to toss it up into the air and caught it.
"Sure this is what you wanna do?" He asked Ares as he pointed the weapon at him.
"Father promised me complete domain over modern Greece, it's a lot of power."
"Not if you can't use it."
"You don't have a chance, Dallr."
"Alright... lemme tell you something. One friend calls me Dallr, but I'm Nate, and Ares, you're not my friend!"
With that, the two both charged at each other with onlookers only being able to see their silhouettes through the flames. They leapt at each other and swung, but all either of them hit was each other's weapon. They both landed and Nate rolled to avoid damaging his legs upon impact. When he stopped, he was quite literally less than half a centimeter away from the flames. If he had even skidded a little further, he would've lost even more to an Olympian, which he absolutely refused to do. He turned around and charged at his opponent once again. Ares swung his massive sword at Nate's head, but brought his blade up just in time. Ares knocked his sword away and then swung at Nate again. He knew he couldn't block in time, so he moved closer. His idea was for Ares' hands to hit him instead of the blade chopping his head in half. His plan thankfully worked and Nate was knocked backwards towards the flames. He back rolled up to his feet and grabbed his sword up off the ground again. When Ares wound back for another large attack, Nate used the opening to swing his blade up across the God's eye. He stumbled back and dropped his blade into the sand as Nate took another step toward him. When Nate was about to attack again, Ares slammed the butt of his sword into the Demigod's stomach. He spun around and slammed the flat of his sword into Nate's chest. The boy went flying through the air and landed on top of a church. He groaned as he stood back up and quickly sidestepped Ares' massive sword. For a moment he was confused why the Olympian would throw his weapon, and then said God landed in front of him.
"You've got spirit, kid." He punched Nate in the chest to knock him back down, then swung at his head, but the Demigod ducked under Ares' massive sword.
"God, do you Olympians ever stop spouting the same types of lines?" Nate asked as he swung his blade at Ares, but it bounced off the armor "What the- shit!" He grabbed him by the face again, leapt down to the ground, and slammed the back of his head into the driveway leading up to the massive building.
He got off of Nate and looked back at the church, sneering as he saw the kind of building people now did prayer in. While Ares was distracted, Nate looked around. He found a tree not too far away and decided to use that. He calmly tore it out of the ground and used his Bifrost hand to hoist it over his shoulder. When he was within range, Nate swung the tree like a massive baseball bat. The truck of the tree slammed into Ares' back and shattered upon impact. He was knocked through the front door and Nate dropped what was left of the biggest weapon he has ever held.
"Okay... you know, kid..." Ares said as he slowly got back up and cracked his neck "I've been alive a long time, and I don't know anyone, God or Mortal, who has ever hit me in the back with a tree... it's been a while since I've been pissed off!" As he charged at Nate, the Demigod took his sword off the ground, and swung it into one of the gaps in Ares' armor "What in the..." Nate pushed him back and swung his blade to throw the golden blood off "Okay... now the real fight begins." He took his sword off of his back and stabbed it forcefully into the ground to create a massive shockwave.
Nate was sent flying backwards and back rolled to get back up to his feet quickly, which was a good idea seeing as Ares was keen to attack as fast as possible. Ares leapt at him and swung horizontally at his legs, but Nate dive rolled over his sword. When he turned around, he spun under another swing to his head. Nate didn't even have to look as he swung his blade out to his side to block Ares' next attack. The force of the Gods blow pushed him back and onto his back, which gave Ares an opening to attack. He brought his blade down at Nate, but he backrolled once again. He swung his blade behind him and stabbed down at the Demigod's head, but he jumped off of his hands back up to his feet. When he did stand back up, he was backed up against a tree, and Ares decided to take advantage of this. He brought his blade down again and Nate blocked, but this time, he had a plan. He tilted his sword so Ares' would slide down it and he'd come closer. When he was within the range of his head, Nate slammed his forehead into Are's nose. The helmet's nose protection shattered and the God fell back.
"Not bad," He admitted while taking his helmet off and crushing it in his grip "Not bad at all."
"Ya know, you're the worst kind of person," Nate told Ares as he kicked the massive sword back to his opponent "Good, but not enough to be great. Even Gods can have a false sense of righteousness... and I hate that."
"Oh, just shut it and come at-" The world began to slow down as Nate cracked his neck.
He had induced World Lag and created a large Bifrost flame in his hand. He threw it at Ares and blew his chest plate off before he even got the chance to react. He charged up his Bifrost arm again and punched it into the ground. Ares was thrown back by the intense rainbow shockwave still in slow motion. Nate watched him float in the air, then let the World Lag go. Ares crashed down into another tree and Nate leapt at him.
"You fool!" Ares grabbed Nate out of the air and punched him in the chest, sending him flying through several trees "Now, how about we finish this." He picked his sword back up and rushed Nate quickly.
He stabbed at Nate's chest, but he pushed the massive blade away with his own. He moved back and Ares swung upwards at his chest. He jumped away from the attack and Ares spun in the air before swinging down at him. Nate was sliced across the foot, then Ares cut him across the eye as retribution for earlier in the fight. While Nate was cauterizing the wound so the blood wouldn't obstruct his view, Ares kicked him in the chest. Nate slammed into the ground and his sword fell to the ground again.
He looked up and Ares walked toward him while saying "Kid, you gotta stop losing weapons." He swung down at the Demigod, but he grabbed his wrist.
Nate turned and threw Ares over his shoulder which shook the entire country of Norway. He stepped back and Ares decided to throw his sword at Nate... for whatever reason. Nate casually side stepped and pushed it into the ground before they began brawling bare handedly. Ares got back up and Nate slammed his Bifrost pal into his nose. When he was disoriented, the boy uppercut him in the throat. Nate was about to attack again when Ares hook punched him across the jaw. Nate was sent flying back into a car and was about to attack again when Ares thrust punched him in the sternum. He coughed after the attack and retaliated with a two punch combo, the first to Ares eye and the second to his stomach. Ares calmly shook this off and smiled, then slammed two hook punched into Nate's ribs. He brushed the attacks off and returned with a full force Bifrost punch right to Ares' ear. He stumbled back and Nate blocked a wild hook with an elbow. When Ares punched with the other hand, Nate bent under it, and grabbed Ares' sword out of the ground. As he stood up, he rammed it through Ares' stomach, then pinned him to another tree. As he was trying to push his sword back out, Nate elbowed him in the nose. His head smashed against the tree and Nate leapt up to punch him in the nose. When he landed, Nate stepped back, picked up a car, and threw it at Ares. It completely shattered and left the Olympian almost totally unharmed, but Nate had a good laugh about it.
"Alright, time to get serious," Nate told himself.
He leapt up into the air and slammed his fist down onto the ground to create a massive Bifrost shockwave. This destroyed the tree Ares was pinned on and he pushed the sword out of himself. As Nate got back up, Ares grabbed him by the throat, and threw him against the church. His back nearly shattered as he fell against the wall and instantly ducked away from a hook punch to his head. When he got up, he used his right arm to block another strike, and at the same time, struck Ares in the throat. The God of War coughed and staggered back, only for Nate to get him by the neck with his Bifrost hand. He yelled as he swung Ares around and slammed his back against the church's door. While he had him by the throat, he slammed a massive hook punch across Ares' jaw. He let the God go and ducked under a wild hook. He punched Ares in the groin while he was bent down, then he went down on one knee. He swung a spear poke strike into the back of Ares' knee and knocked him down. He stood up in a crouch position and hook punched Ares in the stomach with his Bifrost fist. The God of War lurched over and Nate swung a crushing uppercut into his chin. He staggered back and Nate kicked him in the side of the knee to
"All this time, I had thought you and Athena were equals," Nate taunted him as he uppercut him in the chin "But you're just meat." Nate kicked him in the back of the head "But I kinda expected Athena to be the smart one-"
Ares headbutted him, continued with a backfist, and yelled "Enough!" He slammed his massive fist into Nate's chest and sent him flying.
He slid on the ground and asked "Struck a nerve, did I?" He grabbed his sword off the ground and launched himself toward Ares.
He flipped his sword into his underhand and stabbed it into Ares' cracked and torn chest plate. He yelled in pain and glared down at the blade in his side. When he looked at Nate's face, he was a little unnerved by the malicious grin that had stretched across his face. He suddenly released a massive red shockwave from his body and threw Nate backwards. The young Demigod got back up very quickly and charged Ares, only to be hit in the back of the head by his sword's hilt.
"Dumbass!" Ares jeered as he caught his sword and watched Nate do an involuntary twirling front flip before crashing down on the ground "Now to teach this impudent brat a lesson." As Nate got back up to one knee, Ares swung his blade down at him, but Nate grabbed his wrists to stop him "Alright, listen up, you insolent little shit. If you think you can just talk to a God the way you've been doing, you've got another thing coming. You may be a divine being centered around destruction, like me, but you're still just a mortal!" With that, he struck Nate across the jaw!
A sickening crunch could be heard coming from Nate's neck as it twisted unhealthy quickly. He flopped onto his back and his head turned to the side. His eyes dimmed and blood began to drip from his mouth and nose. His arm began to fade away and it looked like he had even stopped breathing.
