When Beth and Hayden had fully gotten up, they ran at Athena again. The Goddess sighed, rolled her eyes, and swung her swords at them, which made them stop in their tracks. She swung the blades at their necks again, but they both shuffled backwards. Hayden swung his scythe down at her head, but she used the right blade to block the attack. She pushed his blade down, then swung her sword at his head, but he ducked under the electrified weapon. While his head was down, Athena kicked him in the forehead, which made the son of Hades stumble backwards. Beth swung at her legs, but Athena jumped over the attack, and grabbed her by the collar when she landed. Athena lifted Beth up off the ground, then threw her aside.
"I'm getting tired of this," Hayden growled as he got up and swung his scythe back onto his back "I think it's time we went all out."
He clenched his fists and encased himself in a cloud of death, a move similar to what Nate tried to use in his first fight with Athena. He took his scythe off of his back again, then swung it through an Athenian Warrior. He turned around and saw a few ganging up on Marc, so he jumped into the air, and killed them all. He landed and swung his scythe through three more Athenian Warriors. More surrounded and tried to dog pile him, but he just used another death cloud to rot them all off of him.
Athena used the lightning from her sword to send a lingering blast of lightning at Beth. The Demigoddess had no choice but to run from the attack because she knew a divine lightning bolt would fry her instantly. She ran to a pillar and used her sword and spear to scale it, then when she reached the top, she launched herself back toward the ground away from the bolt.
"Ready to stop your fleeing?" Athena asked, "This is hardly any exercise if all you do is run away."
"Then maybe I can get back in on this!"
She looked back and used her left sword to casually let his scythe's pole bounce off the blade. Beth ran at her again and swung the sword at her head, but Athena just jerked her head to the side. She swung her left blade up at Hayden and when he blocked, he was knocked backwards by the force of Athena's attack. While he was thrown away, Athena stabbed at Beth's head. She used the spear to block the attack, then she used her right blade to block Hayden's next attack. She pushed his weapon away, then used both swords simultaneously to block the next joint strike. Athena kicked Beth in the stomach and turned to Hayden before knocking his scythe out of his hand. The blade sunk into the ground, then she spun and hook kicked him across the face. He spiraled down to the ground and Beth jumped at Athena again.
"Stop this, mother!" She told Athena as she swung the sword at her head, but Athena just stepped backwards.
Athena stabbed the two swords into the ground, then punched her daughter in the forehead. She stumbled backwards but managed to hold herself on her feet. Beth shook her head as she regained her bearings, then jumped, and side kicked at Athena's nose. She kicked her foot and pushed Beth to the ground, then hook punched her across the jaw. Beth stumbled back, then fell onto her stomach, and before she could get up, Athena grabbed her by the ankle. She picked Beth up, spun her around, and threw her back to the stairs, then she heard Hayden get up, and looked back.
"Leave my girlfriend alone!" Hayden roared as he jumped down, and killed any Athenian Warrior in his way "Elizabeth, I'm coming!"
"Fine, then. I will continue with you." Hayden let out a yell as the two ran at each other and when their weapons clashed, he was thrown backwards.
Beth had gotten up and picked up her sword while she ran at another small group of Athenian Warriors. She slashed through the closest one's neck, then used the momentum of the attack to spin. Beth quickly brought her sword up and blocked a mace strike down at her head. She heard someone else running at her and when he jumped at Beth, she ducked under the attack. Beth kept her blade against the mace and kicked the warrior in the back.
Athena was being pressed by Hayden, but she just said "Enough..." She sent the lightning from her blades into his, sending him backwards "Now... to deal with the disobedient traitor." She came up behind Beth and kicked her in the back, sending her flying away from the stairs again.
Beth fell on her stomach and looked back to her mother, who was spinning her blades in her hands again. She began to shoot lightning bolts at Beth, but without the intention to kill. Beth screamed out in pain as the lightning bolts struck her. Athena only stopped when the lightning from her blades wore off, so they were just normal swords again. She stabbed them into the ground and walked toward her daughter, ready to end it. Beth crashed down onto her back and groaned as her head hit a stone. She looked up at her mother, who was preparing to end her with another spear. Athena raised the spear and just before she stabbed Beth, she was knocked away by something moving at unreal speeds. Kenneth pushed her back to the White House stairs and threw her up the steps.
When she landed, the son of Hermes ran up to her, and asked "Miss me?"
"Ah, Hermes' son," Athena sighed as she got back up easily "You wish to have a rematch with me like Nate did?"
"Yeah, I do."
"Like Nate, I will give you a warning. Walk away from this fight while I let you."
"Athena... you may be a Goddess of War and Battle Strategy," Kenneth reminded her "But you have shown yourself to be too slow to stop me in your current form..." Athena sighed as Kenneth clenched his fist "And I am just getting started!" He used his super speed to swing a punch at her, but she used her Quick Thought, moved at the same speed, and caught his fist "What the-" He couldn't even finish the sentence as Athena threw him into another pillar, sending him through it completely.
"Do not underestimate your opponents," Athena told him as time returned to normal speed for both of them.
"What did you do...?" Kenneth asked as he tried to get up "Years ago... when we first faced off you and I were at the same speed... I know you do not train your speed like I do! What did you do!?"
"I was willing to give you all a chance," She explained while he got back up to one knee "That chance has passed."
"No... no, what has passed is your shot at whatever you are planning," He told her while getting back up "We may not be able to beat you today... but we will be ready soon." He used his super speed to get away and Athena just let him, not knowing what he went to do.
Marc tried to run up to her and attack her, but she just slapped him away. He tumbled down the stairs and Mikayla ran toward her friend. Athena walked toward her and before Mikayla could use her magic to heal Marc or attack Athena, the Goddess kicked her in the nose. The pink haired Demigoddess was sent flying backwards and Beth got up to see her friends getting overwhelmed. She looked back at Eden being overwhelmed and saw Gulltoppr fighting as well.
"Everyone, we need to retreat!" She yelled as she ran for the large animal, and then was followed by everyone else.
Athena watched as the Demigods retreated with Nate's barely breathing body and one of her warriors asked "Mother, should we pursue them?"
She looked down at the warrior, back to Gulltoppr, and replied "No need, they have no further importance for what I must do."
