"Now we've got us a fight!" He exclaimed... and then he finally unleashed Mjolnir.
"Thor, we do not need to do this!"
"We do! Now show me who you are!"
He held it up to the sky, then flipped it down into his under hand, and slammed the top of it to the ground. A massive shockwave blasted out in all directions and knocked Beth backwards. She rolled back up to her feet and he ran forward, then swung the mighty hammer at his opponent's head. She used the shield to block the attack, then he swung the hammer across her jaw. Beth was sent spiraling backwards and fell to the ground on her back. She scrambled back up to her feet and side stepped a vertical hammer swing. Thor turned toward her and swung horizontally at her head, but Beth used the shield to absorb the strike. He pulled the hammer back and Beth rolled away from an upward swing. She watched as a lightning bolt blasted through the wall of their cave and opened up yet another cavern.
Beth got up and yelled "You initiated this fight!" She summoned a large axe to her hand "But I will finish it!" Thor looked down at her and she slashed his face, tearing more flesh away before he just regenerated "Shit!!!"
Thor snapped and called Mjolnir back to his hand as he had dropped it when her axe cut his face. When she brought her axe up again, he used it to block the blade. He grabbed his mystical weapon out of midair, then swung it up into her chest. Beth was absolutely stunned by the force behind the attack and she tried to stay on her feet, but this was quickly shown to be absolutely impossible because she was thrown up into the air. She was sent flying up into and through the ceiling of the underground cave. She dragged the blade of the axe through the rock, but she couldn't gain any traction. After a while, Beth lost her grip on the axe and flew out into Midgard again. Jormungandr once again looked up at her, equally as annoyed as the last time she had flown past him. Beth flew through Midgard as a whole and landed on a building in Vanaheim.
"This is for Heimdallr!" Thor yelled at her as he threw her head.
Beth luckily dodged the divine weapon, but when Thor landed in front of her, she couldn't avoid his punch to her nose. He grabbed the handle of his hammer and ripped it out of the statue it had embedded itself in. He spun around and swung at her head, but she ducked underneath the attack. Beth held out her hand and hoped for any kind of weapon, even though she knew the Vanir were better known for using magic instead of real weapons. Thor's mighty swing shattered the statue and an arrow flew into Beth's hand.
"Well, it is better than nothing," She said as she flipped it into her underhand and stabbed it into Thor's side.
She used her free hand to grab him by the shoulder, then swung her leg against the back of his knee. They were sent tumbling off of the building and crashed down through trees before Thor smashed Beth's face into the ground. Beth was knocked out and Thor got up to see who's statue they had destroyed.
"Sorry 'bout your statue, Freyr, ya drunk old... idiot..." Beth got up to her knees and looked down at a log next to her, then she grabbed it, got up to her feet, and swung it as hard as she could into the back of Thor's head, which actually managed to do... something "If you ain't fightin' dirty you're not fightin', right?" Thor asked, accentuating the r in right.
Beth dropped the shattered remains of the log to the ground and held out her hand for another weapon. Thor decided to wait, all the alcohol having been burned from his system thanks to the lightning. They watched as a scythe flew through the air and into Beth's hand, a weapon she wasn't too familiar with, but a weapon none the less. Beth sighed and got ready to fight Thor again, knowing this battle would only get harder from here.
"Come on, kid!" Thor coaxed her while taking his hammer off of his belt and Beth began to run toward him.
Thor charged up a lightning bolt in Mjolnir and Beth slashed him across the stomach, not letting him unleash his attack. She spun around and swung the blade of the scythe across his chest. Thor stumbled backwards, now that the numbness of his drunkenness had worn off, the pain of her attacks actually set in. The Thunder God quickly shook it off after regenerating and looked up to see that Beth had summoned another shield to her left arm. Thor grinned at her and raised his mighty hammer again, then swung it at her head over and over. With each attack, Beth used the shield to block the attacks, but it was clear Mjolnir would shatter the circular weapon within a matter of seconds. She ducked and rolled under one of them, then swung upwards at him. The blade of her scythe cut through his face and took a chunk out of his nose and lip.
"That it?" Thor asked as she slashed him across the face again "Won't be enough." He jumped back and asked "I can take it... can you?"
Thor rose up into the air using the power of Mjolnir, then swung it down at Beth. She had absolutely no time to get out of the way as she was blasted by a lightning bolt. Beth seized up and fell to the ground, her whole body clenched and jittering wildly for a few seconds. Once it had worn off, Beth got back up, and then jumped away from an electrified Mjolnir that Thor threw at her. While the mighty weapon was out of his hand, he ran at her, and tried to grab her. She ducked under his arms and jumped away as he tried to seemingly bear hug her.
"Thor! Just listen to me!" She pleaded with him.
"You've got nothin' I wanna hear!" He yelled back at her as she ran toward him.
"My mother and I parted-"
"Shut the fuck up!" He grabbed her out of midair as she jumped at him and he summoned Mjolnir back to her hand, then swung it into her chest, sending her flying through several trees "Fight 'n' die!" She got up and was instantly struck in the shoulder blade by the mighty mass murder weapon, her armor being the only reason she didn't sustain heavy injuries "Your group struck first!"
"I am not a part of them!" She rolled under a hook punch to her jaw, then Thor kicked her in the side of the head, which knocked her onto her back again.
She got up and Thor grabbed her by the throat while asking "Then was this shit luck!?" He slammed the back of her head to the ground and lifted her back up "Did my brothers die to their blind fucking luck!?" He threw her away and launched Mjolnir at Beth, but she dodged it... only for Thor to call it back to his hand and hit her in the back of the head with it, causing her to do an involuntary front flip "Dumbass!" She looked up at him and he swung Mjolnir across her jaw, which she assumed would kill her... but after a moment of her noticing that she was still just barely conscious, she pushed herself back up to her feet and watched as he took a few steps back "I ain't leavin' 'til I see the real you, so get up!" He rolled his shoulder and cracked his neck, ready to continue the battle and Beth could see there was no way to go but through him..
Once she was up, Thor grabbed her by the back of her head, and threw her against a tree. She yelped as her back slammed against the hard bark before she fell to the ground. She managed to stay on her feet and only noticed Thor approaching when he thrust punched her in the chest. She fell back against the tree and it fell over this time. She grunted and coughed up blood, then punched him twice in the mouth. In retaliation, Thor swung two punches at her head, but thanks to the fact that she was smaller than him, she dodged them pretty easily. Beth summoned a chain to her hand and wrapped it around Thor's neck. She looked at another tree and swung the chain around its trunk, then pulled on it. Thor was yanked back against the tree and Beth unleashed a couple of blows. After a punch to the throat and an elbow to the bridge of his nose, Thor grabbed her fist when she swung at him again.
He pulled her into his foot and yelled "Stop it!" He kicked her in the stomach and sent her flying backwards, which let her pick up the scythe again "You think this chain can hurt me?"
"No, but it can hold you," Beth yelled as she threw the scythe at the rest of the tall tree that Thor was tied to.
"Hmph, clever," He acknowledged, only to use Mjolnir to turn the tree into wood chips and used his lightning to melt the chain around his neck "But clever won't beat me."
Beth watched as he engulfed himself in crackling blue lightning and asked "Oh, what is this? Your next phase?"
Thor didn't answer and instead swung a lightning bolt at her, but she rolled to the left of it. She looked up and saw him floating in the sky again. Thor pulsed his divine lightning into the head of Mjolnir and lobbed it down at her. Beth, for some reason, didn't think to dodge and instead crossed her arms in front of her chest. The misshapen hammer slammed into her forearms and threw her down to the ground again. He snapped his fingers to call the mighty giant slaying weapon back to his hand and swung it down at her head. She used what was left of the shield to block one more time before the defensive weapon shattered. She was surprised the weapon could withstand the assault, but judging by its dents and cracks, it wouldn't withstand another hit. Just as she was thinking this, Thor grabbed her by the throat. He lifted her up and swung the axe down at his head, but she used the shield to block the attack. The shield finally shattered and sent shards of electrified metal into several innocent Vanir, killing at least two. Thor shifted her in his grip and slammed the top of Mjolnir against her sternum. Beth fell backwards and shook it off while throwing whatever weapons she still had to the ground.
"Enough of this!" She yelled as she grabbed Thor by the throat and hook punched him across the face.
"No, no..." He chuckled, "I'll say when we're done."
He wrapped his arms around her, pinning her arms to her side, then he jumped into the air. He laughed as he flew them through the realms, taking her... somewhere. She wriggled her arms out of his grip and grabbed his matted red hair while punching him repeatedly in the face. He barely reacted to the attacks and he just laughed at her while head butting her in the sternum. She stopped hitting him and looked around, seeing that they were in a realm of lava, flames, and volcanoes.
"Where are...?"
"Welcome to Múspellheim, kid," Thor said while throwing her down into a crater "This is for Loki!" He landed and ran at her, their weapons clashed, and Beth was thrown backwards onto her shoulder "No more fucking games, girl!" He yelled at her while she struggled to put herself back up to her feet "And now that we're in your human perception of Hel... lemme send you to the real one." He snapped his fingers and brought his mighty hammer back to his hands.
"I would prefer not to die," Beth replied, not being a smartass like Nate, but just thinking out loud.
Thor stepped toward her and swung down at her head, but she grabbed his wrist with both hands. She turned and hoisted him up onto her back with extreme effort. She let out a loud yell as she swung him down onto the ground. The sound of her yell was almost as ferocious as the volcanoes constantly erupting all around them. She looked down at her opponent and he threw Mjolnir up at her. She leaned away and it flew past her face, then she reached out, and grabbed it. She had to use both hands, which she could do because hers were significantly smaller than the God she was fighting. As much as she pulled and strained, it wouldn't move from where it had stopped in midair. Somewhere in the distance, Beth could hear... metal? It sounded like someone trying to forge a blade, but failing and trying again over and over. She looked around and saw a bunch of Fire Giants... and then one that was over double the size of all the rest in the distance. For once she was happy Nate wasn't around, because that would've messed him up even worse than Jormungandr had. As she continued pulling at the hammer, it began to move. For a brief instant, she thought it was finally succumbing to her will... and then the moment passed. It turned her around and flew her back to Thor, hook punched her in the chest! She fell down onto her back and he took another step toward her.
As he picked her up by her throat and began to slowly twist her wrist to the point of snapping, he told her "One of us dies here and now!" Beth summoned a spear frantically and stabbed it into his shoulder to make him let go, then she ripped it out and stabbed him in the side before backing off. "And with the way you've been fighting, it ain't gonna be me."
Beth was still catching her breath and Thor threw his hammer up into the air. She watched as it flew up and he seemed to use a lightning bolt to harness himself to it. She lost track of him in the smoky skies, but what she could see was lightning clouds forming above her. They began firing lightning down everywhere beneath them and Beth had no defense. She was struck with multiple bolts, but luckily thanks to her divine innate durability, she could take it.
Thor dropped back down and Beth yelled "Thor, you know Thrud would not want you to-"
"Keep my daughter's name outta your fucking mouth!"
He threw Mjolnir all around Beth and she watched as he turned into lightning, using the hammer to dart around. Thor appeared next to her and sent a heel kick at her head. She ducked underneath the attack and rolled away from her opponent. She got back up and watched as Thor slowly began to rise up while channeling all the power he could within his body. She tried to rush him, but he sent an electro shockwave out of himself! She was thrown backwards by the attack and Thor dropped back to the ground. She ran at him again and Thor pounded the ground with both fists simultaneously, sending Beth away again. Beth got up and then Thor shattered her shoulder armor with Mjolnir. He kicked her away and grabbed his hammer's head in both hands, then slammed it against the ground a few times like a child playing with a toy. The results of his seeming tantrum were devastating as lightning bolts flew down and struck the ground randomly.
"If this does cause another Theomachy, you'll die first!" He told Beth as he stepped forward and grabbed her from behind "Then... your mom."
He picked Beth up off the ground, swung her over his head, and slammed her down, face first into the ground. He picked her back up by the throat, spun around, and threw her to another volcano. Beth summoned a weapon to her hand and Mikayla's chained daggers came to her. She saw Thor jumping at her and tried to do the same thing she had done in Vanaheim. She swung the chain at him, but he caught it, and wrapped it around Mjolnir.
"Don't think I'm just some stupid meathead," Thor advised her as he sent an electrical current through the chain.
Beth cringed and growled as the electricity coursed through her body and she struggled to call another weapon to her hand. Beth pulled the chain and yanked Mjolnir out of Thor's hand. Instead of using raw strength, she decided to use physics to use the hammer. As she swung it at his head, an axe flew into her hand and she tried to swing the hammer at Thor's head. He leaned to the side and let the blade sink into the rock of the volcano they were fighting on. Thor grabbed the hilt of Mjolnir and pulled the chain to drag her toward him. Beth used this to her advantage and she swung the axe into Thor's stomach, digging it in as deep as she could. With all her might, she swung her around, and threw him up to the mouth of the volcano! He grabbed the edge and pulled himself out, then snapped to call his hammer back to his hand. Thor ran down the magma filled mountain and Beth ran up at him. They both wound up with their weapons and swung them at each other. Mjolnir absolutely shattered the blade of the axe and Thor swung the hammer into her jaw! Beth went tumbling down the volcano and Thor ran after her, kicking her in the ribs as he caught up with her. Beth tumbled down to the ground and summoned another weapon to her hand.
She got up and Thor yelled "Come on!"
They clashed and Mjolnir shattered the weapon upon impact, so Beth summoned another one. They did the same thing a few more times, with each Mjolnir hit shattering her current weapon. She summoned a gigantic battle hammer and swung it against Mjolnir, actually managing to knock it out of Thor's hand. She was about to attack again when he punched her twice across the jaw. The attacks caused her to falter and he snapped his fingers to call Mjolnir back to his hand while using the other hand to grab her by the throat.
He pushed her down to her knees and caught Mjolnir as he told her "I see why so many of my people fell to your friends... even this... lesser version from what I can tell. The thing is I am different from the rest of them! Now as for you, All-Father won't be able to go through with the plans he's got for you-" Beth suddenly pulled him in for a headbutt and punched him in the jaw, knocking him off of her and causing him to stumble back... but then he began to chuckle "Heheheh... there she is..." He pulled out a tooth and tossed it into a lava puddle "There's the War Goddess." The two began to slowly circle around each other "Consider your blood debt paid... see ya around." He used Mjolnir to fly back to Asgard and Beth sat down, completely exhausted by the battle.
She looked up when she heard an animal running toward her and heard Nate yell "Over there!" She saw Marc and Nate coming toward her on Gulltoppr.
"Guys... what are you doing here?" She wheezed.
"Woah, she seems pissed off," Marc said as they slowed while getting closer to her.
"Hey, it's just Marc and I," Nate replied as they stopped Gulltoppr and got off the massive beast "That was quite the fight... we'd understand if-"
"We need to go now. We have to talk to Odin."
Nate sighed and replied "Fine, get onto Gulltoppr. Won't be a long ride."
Beth got up shakily and stumbled towards Gulltoppr, the gentle beast lowered himself to let her get on easier. Even with her furry companion's aid, she still struggled. Nate and Marc gave her a boost onto Gulltoppr's back. Marc decided to let Nate and Beth travel on their own and used any clouds he could find to travel as a pure white lightning bolt. Beth managed to stay conscious just long enough for Nate to get onto Gulltoppr's back in front of her, and then she passed out, slumped over on him.
