Back on the island with the palace, Beth and Kenneth finally caught up to Mikayla and Eden. They both knew something was wrong, maybe they were under the control of some spell, or perhaps these were copies, but either way, they stayed on guard. Whatever power the woman in the palace held was enough to take on two powerful Demigoddesses at the same time. When Mikayla walked up the stairs, the doors opened... and the inside was fully lit. They walked in and were greeted by three women.
One of them, who introduced herself as Syrinix. The three were all very beautiful... and seemed to be of asian descent? Beth didn't question it, if the woman inside preferred asian women, who was she to judge? Syrinix was short and had long, straight black hair that fell just above the arch of her back. She had a thin build and a warm smile with black eyes above it. She was wearing a pair of black baggy pants that were held up at her hips. On her upper body, there was nothing but a tight baby blue tube top and black gold bracelets on her wrists.
None of them were very tall, but the woman on the right side of the doorway was the middle height of the three. This one introduced herself as Asteli and she had a less thin form, but also not very curvy either. Unlike Syrinix's straight black hair, Asteli had wavy golden hair. Her skin had blotches where it was lighter than the rest. She had a much more aloof facial expression and dark brown eyes. Asteli had on black shorts and a dark gray skirt on that had sparkling shells lined along the bottom. On her torso she wore a dark purple midriff t-shirt with sleeves that were rolled up to the point that they were basically just rings.
Finally, the tallest, which again couldn't have been more than an inch or two taller than Mikayla, introduced herself as Kelleia. She had curly brown hair back length hair that grew lighter until almost blonde the further down it went. Like Syrinix, she had a very pleasant smile, but her cheeks were much more pronounced on her face than the other two. She had an hourglass build, but was also athletic with muscular yet slim arms and relatively thick thighs. In another similarity to Syrinix, she was wearing black pants, however instead of being incredibly baggy, these were skin tight. She also had a tight tank top that had been cut so that it revealed her midriff. She also had a pair of green and emerald earrings on.
As Syrinix enthusiastically told the Demigods through the palace, Beth kept an eye out for her friends. All she saw were a bunch of animals... Wait, animals? She finally figured out who's island they were on. Granted, it should've been obvious when the girls had said magic, and the three women, who she now realized were Nymphs, not just normal people with over the top names. With all the animals everywhere, it was impossible to know which animal could be her friend... until she came across a very angry raccoon. It was chained up and had rope tied around its snout like a muzzle. What tipped Beth off was that the wolf was pink. Yep, this was almost certainly Mikayla. Now all they had to do was find Eden... but before she could look any more, they found themselves standing right behind the owner of the palace and caster of all the magic.
"Hello, Lady Circe," Beth greeted the Goddess with a slight bow. "Look, we apologize for our intrusion on this island, but can I ask you a question? We had a couple friends scout out this island after we washed up here and they never came back. When we went looking, all we found was this place. Sorry if this seems disrespectful, but I will just ask for assurance. Did you do something to them?"
"Who, me?" The woman asked, still having her back to Beth and Kenneth as she fed a pig, who let out a seemingly miserable squeal "All I do is reveal my visitor's true forms."
"You turned your kid into a wolf," Kenneth pointed out, which made the woman scoff and finally turn around.
When she turned around, the two finally came face to face with the Goddess, Circe. She had long dirty blonde hair that was tied in a wide, rope braid that fell down to the bottom of her back. Her hair had flowers in it and vines that kept them where they were meant to be. She was tall, around three inches taller than Beth, who was already six feet even. Much like Calypso, she was a thin woman, but had a muscular build all the same. Her fair skin clung to her body and her piercing silver eyes stared daggers into their souls. Circe had a magically charged chain necklace around her neck which seemed to be made of platinum. The woman was bony, and her cheek and chin bones were very prominent on her face as well. Her outfit was much like most other Greek Gods they had met, a toga, but her's, like all the others, had an alteration. Hers was more of a sand colored tank top that bared her midriff and a long white skirt than went from her hips to her ankles. Of course, she also had a pair of sandals on which seemed to be made of gold.
"Look, I'm not going to sugar coat any of this," She told them, before her eyes began to glow. "I have no clue who either of you are, but nor do I care." With a wave of her hand, the doors slammed shut and the three nymphs currently in the room were wrapped in magic ropes that bound them to the walls "There is one thing I will make clear. This island is mine. These Nymphs? I'll protect them at all costs, even if it means putting them through slight harm momentarily. Now that you're here, you're under my rules! If I see you make even one wrong move, anything I don't like, then you and your little friends will be done for." The glow of the chandelier dimmed as she sucked the fire out of the candles.
"Bitch, I apologize, but you do not seem to realize that spells have no effect on me. See for years, I have been smoking a flower, one that nullifies your abilities, so I think it is time you let all my friends go."
"Girl, you must be a liar. Where could you possibly have gotten Molly?"
"It is actually pretty common out in the mortal plain, so I just had to-"
"You went to that damned Casino, didn't you?" Circe asked with a smug grin on her face.
"Alright, fine, yes. However, regardless it means that you and I are now evenly matched."
"Oh, is that what you think?" Circe created an animal spell in her hand, which was what Beth was hoping for, seeing as it was the Goddess' go to move "Then let's see how well this works on you." Circe hadn't noticed that Beth had moved in front of Mikayla and jumped out of the way as she threw the spell at her "Oh, you little-"
"Damn... you!!!" Mikayla roared as she turned back into her normal form and used a magical explosion to break free of the chains.
"Oh... well isn't this just nice?" Circe groaned "Pinky? Don't challenge me. Things will only end worse for you than they already were."
"Oh trust me, there's definitely gonna be some bad endings here, mom," Mikayla retorted, the anger evident on her face "But it won't be ours, it'll be yours!"
With that, Mikayla opened with a pink fireball being thrown at her mother's head. Circe's eyes widened for a moment and she jumped to the side. She watched the fireball explode, but since her palace was protected by magic, it was undamaged. Circe decided to strike back and created a bubble shield around herself while running through several more magical attacks. Mikayla was suddenly body slammed, and thrown through the doors. She tumbled out into the jungle and Circe shot an orange spell at her. Mikayla used a break dancing move of spinning on her hands to dodge the attack and kicked a shimmering purple orb at her mother. With both attacks having been dodged, the orange spell shrunk the tree it hit whereas the purple teleported the chandelier it impacted.
"This all you got, mom?" Mikayla asked as they shot opposing spells at each other, which impacted, and sucked each other in.
"Not even close. Your magic can't compare to my own."
Mikayla jumped and kicked another fireball at her mother, who created a wall of ice around herself. The two magical creations created a mist that the two continued to fight within... or in Circe's case, with. She used the mist and turned it into a dripping spear that she threw at Mikayla. Mimicking something Nate would do, Mikayla calmly jerked her head out of the way, and let the weapon sink into another tree before evaporating. She charged at her mother and encased her fists in magic energy, to which her mother responded in kind. Mikayla charged at her mother and swung a wild punch, but she teleported away just in time. Mikayla skidded to a stop and looked around before seeing her mother on the beach a little ways away. She ran out to her and punched her mother in the nose, but Circe used a magic shield to block the magic from affecting her. Circe returned with a hammer fist to Mikayla's head, but she rolled away just in time. When Mikayla got up and punched a pink bolt at her mother, Circe used another spell to block and redirect the attack. Circe punched at her daughter's ear, but Mikayla grabbed her arm, and got behind the Goddess. She spun around and enchanted the sand beneath them, then proceeded to use it to launch Circe up into the air.
"Damn, they are seriously going at it," Kenneth said as he watched the two fight.
"Kenneth, we need to focus! Which animal is Eden?" Beth asked, but then she remembered something "Wait... Mikayla's favorite animal has always been a wolf. Eden has a few favorites, but most of them aren't here."
"Which are here?"
"Uh... there's a few pangolins, a... goat I guess. This spi- ah!" When Beth noticed the jumping spider, she instantly resorted to smashing it with her shield. She was close to having a panic attack but tried her best to control it.
"I uh... hope that one was not Eden," Kenneth said, looking down at the remains.
"It... no, no, she would have responded to us," Beth assured him, shaking off the initial fear "Ugh, why does she have to like these things?" Just then, one of the pangolins bumped Beth's ankle with its nose "Hm?" She looked down and the animal continued bumping her leg, as if to tell her something.
Mikayla knocked Circe into the water and created a dome of ice all around her except for her head, so Mikayla told her "Mom, that's enough. I'm clearly the better warrior, so just let my friend go, tell us where Nate is, and let us get off this island. I'm letting you live, but only so you can help us."
"Ugh... fine," Circe finally lamented.
"Good, but just so you don't try anything cute." Mikayla appeared behind her and kicked her in the back so hard that not only did the ice around her shatter, but so did a few of her virtibets!
"Augh! Oh, you little bitch, what is wrong with you?"
"Hey, I'm not the one who decided to kidnap my closest friend, now come on." Mikayla dragged her back by her legs, which the still powerful Goddess was unable to feel.
"Just know, you little bitch, once I figure out how to get feeling in my legs again, I will kill you."
"No, you won't. Now let's turn my girlfriend back into a hot girl instead of a shell creature thing. Seriously, what did you turn her into?"
