Nate groaned as the sun's rays shined down on him. He groaned and tried to use his Bifrost hand to block the rays, only to find that it was still inactive. What he found... confused him even more. He saw that his stub had been wrapped, not in bandage, but in seaweed? As he sat up, he found himself conveniently under a palm tree. At first he just thought he had washed up under it and had been stopped, but then, he saw how far he was from the water. There was no way he had been washed up that far unless the sea had somehow quite literally launched him like a cannon up to the beach. When he shakily got back up to his feet, he found that his clothes had been changed as well. Instead of his sweatpants and t-shirt, he now wore a sandy brown robe with a wide red shaft draped over his shoulder. Had he not been changed like a toddler in his sleep, he may have actually appreciated it. He looked around and saw that he was on some island, but not the one they had been aiming for. He also found that he was alone, which didn't surprise him.
The last thing he remembered was being the only one to fall into the freezing waters. The experience was haunting... the very little he actually remembered before being struck by part of the boat. He could see nothing despite being the God of Foresight's son. As he tried to control himself, the waters pulled him in every direction except the one he wanted to go in. He had tried desperately to grab onto anything he could, but whatever he found was swept away. Whatever had happened, something had washed him across this island.
"Morning, sleepy head." He turned to where the voice came from, but only found more sand and trees. "You've been sleeping so long, I thought you'd died." Nate reached for his sword... and once again, found it missing "Honey, you talk in your sleep, did you know that?" His sword was softly tossed at the back of his head, which he caught without even looking.
"Yeah, I'm keenly aware. Why?" He asked with his eyes fixated on the calm waters that sparkled with the light of the sun.
"I'm just curious, who is Ellie?"
"My best friend. Now what do you want?"
"Oh, honey, that's simple." The woman appeared in front of him with a soft smile on her face.
She was tall and slim, brown hair that fell down to her shoulder blades and piercing blue eyes that... seemed to move in absolute synchronization with the water behind them. She had a strong chin and cheek bones that were encased in a fair toned skin. She had no shoes or any foot coverings at all, which made sense as the sun was warming the sand. Over her torso, arms, and legs, the woman wore a shiny, but also soft looking... bathrobe? Yeah, despite having seemingly no materials around to make something like this, the woman was wearing a long bathrobe, which of course revealed some cleavage, because why wouldn't a woman all alone out in the middle of nowhere ocean see a man and decide to look as attractive as possible. As much as Nate despised the thought of falling in love, for reasons he either didn't actually know, or he was suppressing, he did have to admit, this woman was gorgeous.
The Demigod tried to look into her head... but he couldn't so he just asked "Okay, so what is it?"
"Right... well, I've got anything you could ever need here, in my secret little personal paradise," She explained happily "Soon the sun will sink and so will you too in my arms."
"Look, I'm no one's man- okay." She kept talking, clearly not listening to a word he had to say, so he began to walk with her following close behind.
"You know all you need's right here, because I'll be with you until the end of days. From here on out you're mine, child."
Nate put his hand up and told her "Yeah, Hel with that. Bitch, I've got half a mind to kill you right here." Nate unsheathed his sword... which was a bit more difficult because he was still only using his left hand and the sword was on his left hip "You don't stop treating me like a pet, I'll let your blood stain the sand."
The woman giggled as Nate directed the tip of his blade to her neck and she pushed it down while retorting "Oh, my handsome survivor, you may try, here's the thing, honey. Gods like me can't be killed."
She giggled again as Nate tilted his head to the side and asked "A Goddess?" With his head tilted like that, he noticed a certain bird watching him, an owl, and that's when he knew Athena knew where he was.
"Hon, you're adorable. Go ahead and bow before your mighty mistress, Calypso, but please don't be scared, I mean you no harm. All I want is to keep you safe and entertained." Nate rolled his eyes, but a malicious smile grew across his face "While under my spell, this place is my secret paradise. Without my blessing, none shall leave... and without my blessing, no one will ever even know this place exists." Little did she know that she was doing nothing but setting herself up for a gruesome fate, as this man she had picked up was not one who had a great track record with Goddesses, but seeing as she seemingly meant no harm, he decided to give her one last chance.
"Listen, Caly, I'll give you one chance. I'm not meant to be here, I've got much more important shit going on. No matter what you do, I'm not gonna be drawn into your little paradise. I won't be here 'til the end of time."
"Sorry, hon, but you're all mine."
"Just let me go back to where I need to be and I promise I won't kill you! Because God damn it, you may think yourself immortal, but my Congenital Amputee ass is about to prove that wrong! I am not fucking around this time!"
"I-"
"If you're gonna say, oh I'm sorry I can't let you go, but you're mine now, then why don't I just rip your-"
"You think I'm sorry? I'm angry that you don't appreciate my saving you. I'm restless because I want more than these animals and creatures that live around my isle. I'm sad that I've never even once heard-"
"I love you?" Nate sighed with his eyes closed "Yeah, there's a reason for that, Caly."
"You know what? I hate that I've fallen so deeply in love with you."
"On that, you and I couldn't possibly agree more."
"So tell me, why'd I fall in love with-"
"I really don't know, and frankly don't care." Nate manifested his arm and plunged it through Calypso's chest!
She stared at him, betrayal evident in her eyes as he stared back into hers with complete indifference. His Bifrost arm began to burn the flesh it was in direct contact with as he put his power into her. Her hair began to fall out as the power became too much for her body to handle. Greek gods were not built to handle the power of the Bifrost, and now Calypso's whole body was being flooded with it. She couldn't even let out a sound as Nate's arm had burst clear through her heart and lung... which was fitting given that he had just broken her heart. He watched completely emotionlessly as her skin began to peel off and fall onto the stand. He kept his arm through her as her eyes disintegrated and melted. After her skin and muscle, finally, Calypso's skeleton was all that was left and it fell to the sand below their feet.
Her spell seemingly fell when she died and... the island wasn't all that was hidden. When her spell faded, he saw the island for what it truly was. To be frank, it wasn't much worse than what she had shown it as, but it was still more of a let down. Most of the trees were rotting, but sand was still soft under the sun, but the foliage was much more overgrown, to the point that it covered a lot of the island. The sun was high in the sky, but the water around the island was covered in algae. Nate looked down at himself and saw that his sword was just a piece of driftwood and his clothes... were exactly the same as when he had fallen off the boat. He decided to sit and wait until... well really anything happened, he was incredibly bored. He probably shouldn't have killed the only source of entertainment he currently had access to.
