The next day, Mikayla woke up before Eden and found her small friend with her arm wrapped around her waist. She looked down at her small friend and noticed what a mess her hair was. She wanted to go ask someone what had happened, but she already knew. She turned over and hugged Eden back and just waited for someone else to come and get them.
Nate was already down in the bar and had already settled the bets with the guys. Today, he had opted for a black dress shirt and black jeans, looking more professional than the last few days. He was drinking whatever he could and saw a familiar face in the crowd. He blinked twice and looked over at the same place again, but he was gone. It was so strange because he was never that fast. As he was thinking, a blonde woman who looked to be maybe a year or two older than Nate sat down in the seat next to him.
"Hey there, big boy," She said as he looked straight ahead, not even seeming to notice her presence.
"What do you want?" Nate asked, still not turning toward her before drinking more of his drink "Need another!" He tossed the glass to the bartender, who caught it out of the air.
"Well, I just saw a handsome young man sitting over here and just wanted to get to know him a bit."
"Then go talk to him and quit wasting my time." The bartender made the drink and slid it back over to him, but the woman stopped his drink. "Hey, I just ordered that."
"Yeah, you can get another one. I said I wanted to get to know you."
"Not in the mood. I already know everything I need to about you."
"Oh, should we go up to my room then?"
"Oh! Oh no, that's not what I mean." Nate turned to face her, then used World Lag to go behind her and grab his glass, then sat back down before restoring time to its usual speed "See, I can already tell you and your boyfriend are having a bit of a fight. Trouble in paradise... so to speak." He took another swig and let out a long "Ah..." He put the glass down and faced the woman again. "I can also wager to guess you see my fancy clothes and think you'll be able to swindle a bit of cash out of me, cash I am not currently holding on my person."
"Ugh, there's no way you- wait... what the hell? The hell are you talking about?"
"I can also tell from looking into those icy blue eyes of yours that you don't exactly appreciate being called out for your gold digger tendencies. Most of the time, people don't exactly like being called out, so that's pretty understandable, but for you it's like you're so afraid of it that you try to shut down anyone who even comes close to bringing it up. Unfortunately for you, I really don't care about anything you have to say about shutting me up because you're the one who initiated this conversation, so have fun thinking about that while waiting for your boyfriend. Now, I'm gonna finish this drink, make a call, and then head back to my room. I expect never to see you again, and I'm gonna forget about this conversation in a matter of minutes. Later." And with that, he just got up and left, but before he forgot, he went into Beth's mind, and told her 'Hey, Estevan's here. Not sure when he got here or if he was following us, but make sure to keep your guard up. I'm not gonna be sweeping your dead ass off the ground because you forgot to keep your guard up.'
"Thanks, but why did you tear into that poor girl?"
'Ah, you saw that? Well, to answer your question. She's a bitch.'
"Huh, I did not know you knew people outside, especially here."
"Oh, I don't. Her eyes showed me everything."
"Ah, well-"
'Ellie, look out!' Beth looked behind her and dove away from a slot machine that something threw at her.
"What the hell?" She rolled over her shoulder and got up to her knees just to see Estevan glaring down at her from the next floor up "Oh, great. I am not letting you get away this time. I have learned my lesson."
They glared at each other as Beth jumped up to grab the railing of the next floor. She knew this fight may not be as easy as the last one because she was wearing an outfit that was... less than optimal for combat. Instead of her usual clothes, she was wearing black high heels and a red slitted dress. Even so, she pulled herself up and then hopped over the railing to look for Estevan. He had disappeared in the crowd so she just pushed through everyone in her way. He could have only gone in one direction so she just walked that way to make sure she didn't miss him. She came to a short staircase and saw Estevan at the bottom of it. She decided to take a page out of Nate's book and jump down instead of walking down to him as she was just irritated at this point.
She landed in front of Estevan and he yelled "You took everything from me... I will kill you, bitch!"
He stepped forward and swung a wild hook punch at her, but she just grabbed his wrist. She used his and her own momentum to backflip over his arm, then landed on her feet, and punched him twice in the kidney. She let his arm go and punched him across the jaw, then heel kicked him in the side of the head.
"Aurgh, you little bint!" He stood up and hook punched her across the jaw, sending her crashing against the wall.
He stepped toward her and went to grab her neck, but she used a tiger mouth strike on his adam's apple. He staggered backwards while holding his neck and Beth stepped away from the wall. She punched at his nose, but he ducked away from the strike. He swung a hook punch into her ribs, then hook punched her in the ear. Estevan grabbed Beth by the back of the head and kneed her in the stomach, then pushed her backwards. She stumbled back and put her hand on the wall to stop herself from falling over. Once Beth regained her balance, she knelt down, and elbowed him in the knee. He fell to one knee and grunted, then she got up, and swung an uppercut into his chin. Estevan stumbled back and she used this opening to roundhouse kick him across the face. Estevan stumbled backwards and she ran at him again. When he regained his composure, she jumped, and hook punched him. Estevan fell down to his knees and she rolled over her shoulder.
Estevan growled as he got back up to his feet, then snarled "Fine, time to die, girl." He grabbed his sleeves and tore them off.
Beth got up and Estevan swung a roundhouse kick at her, but she ducked underneath it. She pushed his leg away, spun around, and elbowed him in the groin. Estevan yelled and stumbled backwards and she punched him in the jaw. He put his foot down and shook his head, then grabbed her by the hair. He slammed Beth's head into the wall, then threw her to the floor. She looked up and then barrel rolled away from a horizontal hammer fist. She got back up and elbowed him in the side of the neck, then swung a punch at his head. Estevan ducked under the attack, grabbed her ankles, and pulled her down onto her back. People began to turn to face them as he stomped down at her head. Beth used her forearm and palm to try and keep his boot away from her face, but his strength was greater than her's. She looked around for something she could use, then simply kicked him in the knee.
"What the hell?"
Estevan stumbled back and Beth told him "You are still incapable of beating me."
"Shut your mouth."
She tackled him to the ground and punched him in the nose to make sure he stayed down. She put her knee on his chest and began punching him across the face over and over again. She grabbed his leg and swung a hammer fist down into his knee. He grunted and she threw his leg to the ground, then continued her assault. With each punch, she drew more blood which sparkled with golden specks.
"Enough of this!" He grabbed her by the throat and held her up while grabbing a syringe out of his pocket.
"What the hell... is that?" She rasped out while struggling against his grip.
"Just watch." He tried to stab himself with the needle, but she grabbed his wrist "Oh, stop struggling." He headbutted her, which made her let go, then stabbed himself with the needle, injecting some kind of performance enhancer into his system "I have been waiting for this day... for a long time..." He pulled her into another headbutt, then threw her off of him.
He got up and they swung punches at each other, but Estevan opened his fist, and caught her's in his palm. He closed his fist around her hand and nearly broke it in his grip. She yelled out in pain and he pulled her into a hook punch. He let go of her hand and swung another punch into her nose. He grabbed her by the back of the head, then slammed his head twice into her nose. He dropped her down to the floor, then stomped on her chest. She gasped for breath, then stomped down onto her face again. Beth actually passed out from the attack, but Estevan clearly wasn't done with her yet. He grabbed her by the ankle and threw her into another slot machine. This woke Beth up and she groaned, but when she heard him coming, she came up with an idea.
"Why do you keep trying to win this? There is nothing you can do to beat me anymore."
"Oh yeah?" She asked, then she punched him in the eye "Then what about this?" She spun around and uppercut him in the groin, causing his balance to falter "Now just like Nate always says..." She rolled and kicked Estevan's legs out from underneath him and knocked him onto his stomach "Time to fight dirty!" She jumped down and elbowed him in the back of the head.
He growled as he got back up to his knees and shook his head, then noticed Beth running at him. He grinned and got up and when she jumped at him, he clotheslined her. She did an involuntary backflip and landed on her back on the floor. She groaned as she hit the floor, then looked up, and then barrel rolled away from a stomp. She got up to her knees and rolled under a wild hook punch to her nose. She got up behind Estevan and the two charged at each other again, but he blocked a punch, then a knife struck her in the throat. She coughed from the attack and he grabbed her by the hair again. He swung her around, then pulled her into another clothesline, which knocked her down to the floor. He looked down at her as she rolled over onto her stomach, then grabbed her by the back of her dress. He pulled her back up to her feet, then threw her against the wall, and pinned her there with his forearm pushed against her throat.
"You know what your problem has always been, Elizabeth?" he asked while kneeing her in the hip, which made her grunt "You were always lucky." He punched her in the ribs, which made her exclaim in pain "You have been lucky in the friends you have made..." he elbowed her in the side "You have been lucky in the life you have lived..." He headbutted her in the nose "But now... you will die alone." He bent down and grabbed her leg, then held her by the back of her neck and leg over his head "How unlucky for you." Beth was barely listening as she reached down for her leg mouthed dagger, then stabbed Estevan in the eye with it "Augh! You stupid little bitch!" He swung her over the ledge and she fell on her stomach two floors down.
He ripped the blade out of his eye and snarled, feeling the gel like liquid mixed with blood drip down his face. He wiped it from his face and swung down to her to finally end her. He held the knife in front of her face as she looked up at him, then snapped it in half, and tossed both pieces to opposite sides of the hotel.
"Oh, you mother fucker!" She got up and swung a hook punch into his jaw.
He backed up when she hit him, then she used the same hand to hammer fist him across the face. She used her other arm to hook punch him again, but he blocked her attack this time, then swung his elbow down and slammed it into her shoulder. She fell down to her hands and knees and Estevan stepped on her back. He thrust his foot down and pushed her down into the floor again. He took his foot off of her, then grabbed her by the hair, and smashed her head into the floor. He picked her back up again and threw her over the railing, letting her fall all the way down to the ground floor.
"I will decapitate you and keep your pretty little head as a trophy," He snarled down at her as he landed just in front of her.
"You would have to... beat me first..." Beth groaned as she got back up to her feet "Come on... 'Van."
"Never call me that." He punched at her nose, but she leaned away from the attack "No one is ever allowed to call me that!!!" He hook punched at her, but she rolled behind him, and wrapped her arms around his neck "Just give it up!" He elbowed her in the stomach, turned around, and tackled her to the floor, then when he tried to pick her up, she broke his pinky fingers "Augh! What in the flying-!?" He decided not to waste any words and throw her into an open elevator, then come in with her.
"Ugh... what just happened?" She asked.
When Estevan got into the elevator and the doors closed as they ascended, Beth decided to stop playing around. She jumped forward and uppercut him in the chin. As he fell back against the door, she grabbed him by the neck, and pulled him into a groin kick. He fell to his knees and she stepped back, then heel kicked him in the jaw. The doors opened and she hoisted him up onto her shoulder, spun around, and threw Estevan out into the fifth floor.
She followed him out and he held himself up just above a stairwell and asked "Will you ever just die!?!"
She got tired of him and heel kicked him over the railing and fell down through the hotel. He crashed down on his neck on the stairs and it broke as soon as he hit the step. His lifeless body tumbled down the remaining few steps and Beth watched as he stopped at the bottom face down. She walked back to the elevator, panting for breath as she stepped inside. She pressed the elevator for the ground floor and just waited until she made it.
The door sweeped open and she looked down at his body after kicking it over to lay on his back, then Kenneth tapped her on the shoulder, and said "Beth, my room. Now. We need to talk."
