Athena swung her blade at Beth's stomach, but she jumped back. She landed next to Hera's throne and Athena spun around, then slashed a razor sharp wave of light at her daughter again. Beth jumped back, then bounced off the top of the chair as it fell to the floor. She landed and looked behind her to see her mother falling towards her again. Beth dove away from the attack and rolled back in front of Hestia's hearth. Athena ran at her and leapt toward Beth, bringing her blade down at her daughter. Beth rolled away from the attack and turned to face her mother as she got up.
"You know this is not what grandfather wanted Olympus to become!" Athena swung at her head horizontally, but Beth ducked under it, and rolled backwards "He battled the Titans with his siblings for an entire decade!" Their blades crashed into each other, then Athena shoved Beth into a pillar "They fought to keep peace in the world."
"No world is ever built on peace," Athena scolded her daughter "They are built by-" She swung at Beth, but she ducked, and rolled away as the pillar crumbled into rubble "-Power, and they are controlled by those with the most of it!"
As Athena walked toward Beth to finish her off, the latter grumbled "No." She pushed herself up, spun around for momentum, and used the extra strength to block her mother's next attack, but the Goddess still pushed her daughter against the wall "No matter what you have done, or what you have clearly become..." Beth kicked Athena back and then jumped at her, using her sword to push Athena's into the floor "I know you have it in you to be better. I know you can change!"
"Your hopefulness will be your downfall!" Athena snapped at her as she pulled her sword back up, spun, and hook kicked Beth across the jaw, sending her spiraling to the floor "People cannot change." She stepped toward Beth and kicked her in the stomach as she got to her hands and knees, which threw her onto her back again "We only reveal who we truly are!"
Beth got back up and Athena wasted no time, using a blast from her sword to send Beth flying. She tumbled through Zeus's throne and almost tumbled off the mountain itself. Athena used her telekinesis to stop Beth in the air, then ripped her toward the pillar to the right of the doors. Beth yelled in pain as her back slammed against the pillar and she fell on her stomach. Beth struggled to get back up to her feet as her mother walked toward her. She finally managed to get up, only to be thrown away by a roundhouse kick from Athena.
Beth was gasping for breath as Athena walked toward her, then she got an idea, looked up at her mother, and told her "You know, Noah once told me the same thing. Maybe you two are not as different as you like to believe."
"I am nothing like an Aesir!" Athena told her daughter as she swung down at her head, but Beth rolled out of the way, and got back up.
Athena swung at Beth's head, but she blocked the attack, and with much effort, pushed her mother back. Athena pulled back, then swung her blade at Beth's head again. She jumped to the side, then rolled behind Athena. The Goddess turned around and swung her sword down at Beth's head. Her daughter tried to block the attack, but the strike was too powerful. Beth was pushed back by the attack and fell to one knee as she panted for breath. She got up and blocked another slash to her head, but she had to jump back to avoid being thrown back again. Athena glared at her, then stabbed at Beth's head, but she ducked under the attack. Beth jumped back up and swung her blade up at her mother's throat. Athena used Aegis to block the attack and threw Beth backwards with a sheild bash. Beth did a back handspring when she got close to the floor and landed on her feet. The two ran toward each other again and Athena spun to generate power for her next strike. Beth jumped over her and swung down at her mother's head, but Athena blocked the attack. Beth landed behind Athena, stabbed her sword into the floor, and spun around on it, giving her an opening to kick her mother in the back. For once, she actually knocked Athena onto her stomach, but she was only down for half a second. Beth hadn't even touched back down on the floor before Athena got up and turned toward her.
"Impressive," Athena admitted while wiping some ichor from her mouth "But not good enough."
Beth ran toward her daughter again and stabbed at her, but just before her heart was pierced, the Demigoddess dove to the side. She turned toward her, flipped her blade into her underhand, and stabbed down at her head. Beth blocked the attack, and while Athena pushed down at her daughter, she decided to use a move Noah had taught her. She twisted the blade of her sword to get inside her mother's guard, then kneed her in the stomach. Athena took a step back and Beth spun around, then side kicked her mother in the nose. Athena was largely unharmed by the attack, but that did not mean she was not irritated. She ran at her daughter again and swung down at her head, but Beth blocked the attack. The strike's power threw her back and Beth landed two or three feet away. She landed and they both did the same flourish before stabbing at each other. Against all odds, the tips of their blades clashed and they ended up behind one another. They tuirned to face each other again and Beth stabbed at her mother's chest. Athena side stepped the attack and palm checked the flat side of Beth's blade. She moved behind her daughter and struck her in the back. The only reason the attack didn't kill her was because of the armor Beth had been given by the Dwarves in Svartlfheim. She staggered forward and looked down at the red liquid with golden sparkles in it running down her thigh. Beth turned to face her mother again, they both spun, and when their blades collided, they were thrown backwards. Beth's back slammed against the massive throne room doors where as Athena fell through her eldest aunt's fire. As athena got back up, her toga had been set aflame and while it caused her no pain in her true form, it was very annoying. She gripped it and ripped it off, now her midriff and arms were completely exposed. As Beth pushed herself back up to her knees, she noticed her mother's new exposed areas and decided to focus those.
"Bit of a wardrobe change?" Beth asked.
"Shut up and fight."
They ran towards each other and swung their blades at each other's head, their blades clashing, and showering them in quartz white sparks. Beth kept her blade pushed against her mother's so she couldn't lethally attack again... forgetting about the immense power Athena held. The Goddess finally got bored of this and threw her daughter's blade up. She swung her sword at Beth's neck, but she missed, spun, and stabbed at her daughter's chest. Beth turned her body to avoid the attack and when Athena swung again, her daughter swung her own into her mother's hand. She struck the cross guard on her mother's blade and managed to knoc it out of her hand. It clattered to the floor and Beth ran to grab it. She turned and threw her sword at her mother to distract her. Athena simply slapped it out of the air and Beth grabbed her mother's weapon.
"Woah... what power..." Beth said to herself as she looked down at the weapon and felt its power.
Its was made of quartz and silver with the hilt being made of hardened rubber, likely to help with gripping. While Beth was distracted, Athena plunged her hand into Hestia's hearth. She pulled her flaming hand out of the hearth, then launched the fire as her daughter! Beth noticed at the last second and held the sword up in front of her. The blade cut the fireball in two and they both flew just to the sides of Beth's head.
"Huh? Oh..." Beth got into a long point guard "Come at me."
Cratus let out a yell as he kicked Marc in the chest, sending him flying backwards. He bounced off the now broken and cracked floor and slid to a stop with the aid of his weapon. When he got back up, he cracked his neck, and supercharged himself with lightning. As Cratus raised his sword, Marc looked down at his mace, and cast it aside... but that didn't mean he was done fighting, not even close. He charged toward Cratus, the lightning helping his movement be almost invisible to the eye. When Cratus finally did swing at him, he found it was nothing more than an afterimage. The real Marc uppercut him in the chin, showing how long he has been standing in front of him. While Cratus was stunned by the attack, Marc cracked his knuckles, and hook punched the Minor God across the jaw. Cratus fell onto his stomach and Marc waited for him to get back up to his hands and knees before kicking him in the rib cage. With the power of the lightning giving his already inhuman strength an even greater boost. Cratus was thrown to the edge of the mountain, only being stopped by the railing and Zelus looked back at his brother.
"He needs my help. I will deal with you soon enough, Aesir half breed." He pushed Nate back and flew over to his brother "It is time, Cratus." He looked over and nodded, then in unison, the two Minor God brothers took lightning bolts out of... somewhere.
They threw the godly weapons at each other and created a deffening boom with a blinding golden light. Nate and Marc got back to back with one another... with a little bit of effort because neither could hear and Nate was the only one who could see even a little bit. It got to the point where Heimdallr's son got so irritated that he just grabbed Thrud's by the shoulder and pulled their backs together.
"Wow kids, your mothers must have been truly despeate to mate with weaklings like your fathers," Zelus taunted as Cratus attacked Marc.
"Well... actually, my mom's the God...!" Marc told Cratus as he used all the strength he had left to keep his massive sword away from his head.
"Okay... nobody, and I mean no fucking body! Insults my God damn mother!!" Nate roared as Bifrost power enveloped him.
"What is this... stop this! Stop!!" Zelus exclaimed, but it was too late for either brother.
When Cratus looked back at Nate, Marc saw an opening as his focus was divided. Marc let out a yell and pushed Cratus' sword away, then threw his mace into his arm. The mace went flying behind him and Cratus' arm was broken, rendering it completely useless. Cratus sword fell from his unusable hand and Marc grabbed it, using his lightning to help him wield it. He spun around and swung it through Cratus' legs! Cratus let out a yell and began to fall to the floor, but oh no, Marc wasn't done. He called his mace back to his hand and it slammed into the back of Cratus. He face planted to the floor and Marc brought the mace down onto his head, crushing it like a cannon ball flying through a watermelon.
Zelus was still trying to stop Nate, but was momentarily distracted by his brother's grizzly demise. When he looked back, a storm of crimson Bifrost power had begun to swirl around Nate. Zelus was terrified by this new development and flew away before firing a blast at him. The energy sphere was stopped and... assimilated into the storm!? With this new power, the swirling Bifrost turned into a mighty crimson tornado. The rapid growth in size and strength of the storm threw Zelus backwards again. As Nate rose up into the air from the power coursing through him, Zelus was pulled back into the storm. Nate grabbed him by the throat and dragged him through the Bifrost, Zelus' golden ichor being burnt from the inside out. When they got to the top of the storm, Nate threw him back down to the ground within the storm. Zelus let out a final scream as he was blown into golden ichor stained pieces.
The storm faded and when Nate landed, Marc asked "So... is this over?"
"Eh, almost... but now... we should help Beth deal with Athena."
Athena leapt up into the air, spun, and thrust a flying side kick at Beth's nose. Athena's daughter was flung backwards and turned in the air. She rolled over her shoulder and leapt back up to her feet before turning, and running at her mother. She swung her blade up at Athena's throat, but she blocked the attack with Aegis. She grabbed Beth by the throat and pushed her back, then spun, and side kicked the younger divine warrior in the stomach. Beth stumbled backwards and held her stomach, the closed wound still slowing her down just a bit.
"Ugh... you really are like the Aesir..." Beth told her mother, then she ran at her, and stabbed at her chest, but Athena stopped the blade between her palms "The longer a battle goes on, the more into it you get!"
"Do not... compare me... to Asgardians!" Athena yelled as she pushed Beth back to the other side of the room.
She stomped toward the hearth again and plunged her hands into it. Beth got back up and when Athena threw two fireballs at her, she cut one in half, and blocked the next with the flat of the blade. Athena threw another fireball at her and Beth jumped away from the attack. She landed and Athena continued barraging her with fireballs, so Beth had to think fast. She side rolled away from two more projectile flames, then got up, and cut another in half. Athena lobbed another infernal sphere at Beth, but she spun around, and reflected it back at her mother. She used another fire blast to stop her first, then when Beth tried to run to the side, Athena threw another fireball at her. Beth did an arial over the flame, then when she landed she spun, and slashed through another spherical ember.
"Come on, throwing fire? Is this all you have left?" Beth asked.
"Oh... how about I show you... what I have left...?" Athena asked, very clearly losing her patience and composure.
The two launched themselves at each other and when they clashed, Athena was blocking the sword using Aegis. As Beth tried to push the blade down to her mother's head, Athena had other ideas. She summoned Aphrodite's cestus and punched down at her daughter's head. They were both thrown backwards and Beth used the blade to stop herself. When Athena landed, shelooked down at the armored gauntlet, but deemed it useless, so she tossed it aside. She began to run at her daughter again, who grimaced at this, then returned in kind.
"You know, I grew up afraid of you!" Beth told her mother as she swung the sword at her, but she blocked with Aegis "But the older I got, the more I realized something..." Athena pushed her back and summoned a few spears, then launched them at Beth "Every time we have confronted you or your forces..." Athena swung the sword through them all, letting the ruined weapons fall harmlessly to the floor "We either beat them, or you let us escape!" Beth jumped up and swung her sword down at Athena, but she summoned another shield, and let the blade be stopped by it "So that would mean only one thing, that you have grown arrogant." Beth landed and spun around, slashing at her mother's chest, then at her head, but she stepped away from both "And that would lead to only one thing... you know that." Athena summoned another sword and threw it down at Beth, but she jumped back, landing on what was left of Zeus's throne "It will lead to your death!"
Athena put her left hand behind her back and retorted with "You are a fool. You have no chance to win..." Using her left hand, she slowly began to summon a few daggers from Hephaestus' workshop "All you can do is fight until your exhaust yourself, and that will be the fate off all your friends." She launched the weapons at Beth's back, but without looking, she stopped the weapons just long enough to bat them away with a spinning sword slash "You only are only prolonging what is inevitable." Beth snarled and jumped at her mother, but when she swung at her neck, she just jumped away, and landed at the doors to the throne room "And now that your end is upon you, you see our powers' divides..." Beth jumped at her mother and swung down at her mother, but she just blocked the attack with Aegis "We are not equals!!!" Athena used her free hand to send a beam of white energy up at Beth, but she jumped away from the attack, letting the beam cut straight through the ceiling of the throne room.
"Shut up!" Beth yelled as she landed next to Hestia's hearth, putting the blade in to take in more power "I will never let you hurt my friends again!" Athena began to barrage her with weapons again "As long as I can still beathe, I will always stand in your way!" Athena continued psycially sending weapons at her daughter while slowly walking toward her, slamming her fists together to generate more power, then she leapt at her daughter "Huh?" As she got close to Beth, she thought back to something Noah had said "Do not fight the way she expects you too, at least not always," Beth muttered "He's right... then how about we try this?" Beth held her hand out and when Athena was about to strike her with Aegis... it stopped in mid air.
"What!?" Athena growled, becoming more and more angry as the fight progressed.
"I am fighting a new way," Beth explained.
Athena had no choice but to unlatch Aegis from her arm and swing a punch at Beth. She leaned back to dodge the attack, but ducked under another punch, and rolled under the next. Athena was confused at what she was doing for a moment... until she thought back to her and Zelus' conversation about his fight with Noah. Beth front flipped over her mother and landed on her throne.
"This seem familiar?" Beth asked, trying to sound as much like Noah as she could to really piss Athena off.
"No...!" Athena jumped at her and tried to stomp down on Beth's head, but she jumped away at the last moment "Do not mimic him!" She swung a punch at her again, but Beth just jumped to Dionysus' throne "Stop that!"
Beth jumped off of the throne and Athena swung another punch at her head. Beth ducked under the attack and fell to one knee, struggling to keep this style up as she wasn't used to it. Athena growled and punched down at her, but Beth rolled away from her. She got up and used Poseidon's throne to hold herself up as she caught her breath. Athena was getting more enraged and since she held no love toward her brother, she ripped his throne out of the floor. Beth watched as she tore it in half, then threw it at her, but Beth just ducked under the first half, then side stepped the second. Athena was breathing heavily now, but not like Beth. Beth was exhausted where as Athena was just angry. She let out a yell and ran at her daughter again. When she got too close, Beth jumped up onto Poseidon's throne, then backflipped over her mother. She did a back handspring over the hearth and landed shakily on her feet. Athena walked toward her daughter, plunged her hand into the slame again, and hurled another fire ball at her. Beth twisted her body in a way that would be sed to absorb a punch, but instead it let the fireball pass by her harmlessly. This constant dodging and mimicking the person she hated the most as he had been one of the first mortals to actually give her trouble in a fight seemed to send Athena over the edge. She let out a massive scream and another powerful explosion erupted from every part of her body. Beth was thrown backwards and stumbled for a moment before falling over the balcony Aiden had tackled her down earlier.
"Well... maybe that was a bad idea..." Beth groaned as she hung on for dear life, but then she heard what sounded like footsteps coming toward her "Wait... what is... oh no."
"Hello, daughter..." Athena greeted her as she looked down at her daughter "And fair well." She reached down and grabbed Beth by the throat and held her out over the edge "Hm... no... no, you have humiliated me far too much to let a simple fall take your life." Athena turned and hurled Beth back into the throne room "You... and all of your friends have earned a long and painful death!!!" Athena watched as Beth pushed herself back up to her feet, but the fatigue from the fight was clearly starting to get to her "I wonder how long you can endure..." She suddenly leapt up into the air and when she was in range, kicked Beth in the chest, sending her flying down onto her back.
Nike limped toward Kenneth and tried to punch him, but in less than half a second, he went from standing, to next to her. Before the momentum disappeared, Kenneth slammed his heel into her side. Nike went flying to the side and Kenneth ran ten circles around her before kicking her again while she was in the air. He let her hit the ground, ran after her, and lifted her up. He punched her in the nose and watched her go flying into a wall. He ran at her again and kicked her in the ribs. He flipped her onto her back and began punching her in the face over and over. He picked her up and ran just enough to rattle her before dropping her onto her stomach. Kenneth kicked her in the ribs again, breaking two, and grabbed her by the ankle. He began to run while holding her ankle, grinding her across the ground. With the speed they were going, Nike was forced to stay awake for the entirity of her grusome fate. First her skin was ground away, then the flesh tore off. As Kenneth continued running around the mountain, Nike's muscle was slowly shredded to reveal her bones. Nike's bottom jaw finally flew off and Kenneth had worked himself too hard. He dropped her... whatever was left of her and stopped. He panted for breath and fell onto his back, just deciding to wait until his friends came to find him, it wouldn't take them too long.
