Isaac was now in the Malone's mansion after the episode inside the Central Base of the Federal Opus. The things he saw were eating his conscience. There were too many whys to be answered, too many situations to be explained. After he left the room with the file, Isaac went to his office to do the reports, and once he finished and sent to his students, he ran back home. He was making dinner for him and Gavin. Isaac left the stove on and went to the living room wait for time to pass. The heat would turn itself off once the food was cooked so Isaac was not worried about burning anything nor the house. He got comfortable in the couch and turned the television on, watching a random series he spotted because he read about it on the Realm once.
Within minutes, the front door was unlocked and revealed the figure of a tired Gavin. It was 25 in the evening. Cold was there once again. The boy even had some little snowflakes over his hair and clothes. Gavin heard the noise coming from the living room and directed himself there, seeing Isaac laying on the couch with his back touching the arm of it. Gavin didn't say nothing, just took off his shoes and laid on top of his sun, hiding his head in the space between his chest and arm. Isaac looked dumbfounded at the scene, but he caressed the back of his lover. He knew Gavin didn't do these things constantly so he thought something maybe happened. "What is wrong with you, huh?"
"I don't want to work anymore." His voice was muffled. Isaac laughed at him.
"Sorry, but you are the person who cannot do that at all. Sit right Gavin and look at me." Isaac said and he did so, sitting in front of his sun. The expressions of the Malone boy represented tiredness and it was the first day of the week. "What happened?"
"Nothing happened. It's just that doing this is tiring and stressful. Today at the conference a journalist tried to ambush me with questions about yesterday and it was the great point of my day. Then, your grandmother proposed a very good idea to me, but I feel she wants to make a Kyedoth version out of myself."
"I did not get what she wants to do exactly."
"She wants to help me out in being more respected by the public, but I presume she wants to do it the rough way from what I have seen about her in the last day. What do you think I should do?"
"I think it is worth trying." Isaac caressed the boy's thigh with ease, trying to pass him comfort. "Grand Olezska is a smart person, however, her presence comes with high prices of patience." He said. "Set your own boundaries with her. Maybe she will accept it."
"I will see what I will do with her." Gavin got comfortable in the couch, touching his back on it. "But what about you? What did you do today Mr. Teacher?" Gavin smiled once mentioning Isaac's position at the Federal Opus. He liked the idea of him sharing his expertise to other people.
"The same, basically. They are good trainees but need to pay more attention to little details." Isaac fixed his position on the couch and decided to speak up about what he saw deep down in the central base. "There is something else I wanted to talk with you." Gavin nodded, signaling Isaac could continue. "I found something really weird at the underground levels of the Base. Seventh to be exact."
"What were you doing there? I thought the levels below 6 were forbidden for most people to enter."
"I will sound insane, but hear me out first. Something whispered in my ear and lead me to that floor, Gavin." The Malone's expression went skeptical. He believed in Isaac for sure. After everything they lived, it was easy to trust in unrealistic things like that one. "I entered a room called Home of Experimental Capsules and I saw a dark mascarade monster locked in an oval shaped glass capsule."
"Pardon me? I thought we were over that chapter." Gavin tilted his head to the side, focusing on his memories of months ago. "Didn't we kill one in a researching camp and another on that rooftop in downtown Qorjal?"
