The front door was a light tone of wood, having its composition eaten by insects in some specific parts. Gavin weakly touched the door to open it, and that creaking sound came in the environment as well when he first stepped inside the house. It was revealed a place that didn't have air circulating around for some time, dust covering the furniture, bugs and insects walking around corners and hiding from the hard daylight coming from outside and probably had some rotten food stored somewhere. It smelled awful.
When they got inside, the first places they spotted was the kitchen in their left, living room in the right and in front of them had a door that lead to a garden they had in the middle of the house. It was a one-story house with social rooms in the front and private rooms in the back. The light yellow painted walls were falling off at this point and when Gavin touched part of it the painting fell even more. "Thankfully it is not a big house." Isaac said still looking around, entering the kitchen later and regretting instantly. The smell of rotten food was stronger there. He went back to the hall he was to meet Gavin still there. "Let's go by the living room."
"She didn't lie when she said the place was untouched." Gavin walked towards the living room with Isaac behind him. The floor made creaky noises every time they took a step. Probably 90% of the wood in that house was already rotten. "What are these?" He asked when got closer to a shelf. Isaac came up behind him to look closer.
"Oh, I think I know the name but I cannot remember." Isaac grabbed a square paper box and took off a golden disk from inside of it. "I remembered. This is a vinyl." Isaac put the disk back inside and it's cover back on the shelf. "This is old. Like, too old. They probably liked collecting old stuff."
"I liked the cover." Gavin said before taking a last look over the black and white picture of somebody in the woods at the cover of the vinyl. They started walking around again. The couple didn't have anything electronic inside the house. Gavin and Isaac spotted numerous melted candles around the room by the way.
"Oh!" Gavin remembered something he wanted to comment with Isaac the moment he arrived at the house. "That woman said you shouldn't leave the motorcycle alone. She said something about her people hating technology and destroying it when having a chance."
"I will take a look quickly. Go find an office or something." Gavin nodded at his response, continuing his slow pace. He was paying attention on the details in this house. It was like his first time in a museum because everything there resembled the past of the humanity somehow. Probably his old self did that know much about it because every thing he saw there was a surprise.
At the end of the house he found three doors separated almost symmetrically. The first door door was half opened, so Gavin touched it slightly to give him more space to peek inside. It was revealed to be a bedroom, the couple's bedroom actually. A bed in the middle, nightstands on the sides with pictures on top of it, rug on the floor, a big floral curtain hanging over the window. It was nothing like he was used to see at the bunker. Over there he only saw neutral and serious colors with no stamps. He opened their drawers to see clothes folded perfectly, he saw shoes in front of the bed ready to be worn and jewels and perfumes to be used. It almost made him feel sad to see that somebody wouldn't be able to use all the things they had anymore.
When he heard Isaac's steps back, he rushed out of the room to pretend he wasn't almost daydreaming inside that place. Isaac arrived back at the hall seeing Gavin opening the second door. "Did you find anything?"
"No, not yet. That first was just their bedroom."
"The motor is fine. No one is around."
"I think it's an storage room here." Gavin said, making Isaac get inside the little room. They were too close to each other right now. Gavin could easily feel Isaac perfume emanating from his neck. Inside of it there were a lot of boxes placed on top of shelves, each one with a tag in front of it.
