CHAPTER 43: PART OF THE PROCESS

Isaac sat in his bed with his cellphone in hands. hoping his mother would pick up his call even though it was late in the night. He knew she took a while to answer because she needed to be in quiet and empty places to talk with her son and she did not hesitate before answering because she thought it could be an emergency, and it was in a certain way.

"Isaac, what's wrong? Did something happen?" She said low.

"Mother, I need you to pack your things. When I say you, I mean everyone in the house."

"What? Is someone going to attack us?"

"No, no. Stay calm. Mother, the bunker is surrounded by federals. Gavin and I cannot exit the place. We are going to do something about it, but first we need to assure you all will be safe. Call Nikola so he can stay with you."

"Isaac, where do you want us to go? I don't get it."

"You will stay in a bunker in Weglinnic. It is Chemeris' and Gavin has the access to it, but you need to pack, get Nikola and drive over to the city as fast as possible."

"Why, Isaac? I am not doing anything without answers."

"We are... look, I know you will not approve what I am saying next so spare me from the early judgment. We are killing the federals that are trying to ambush us and after that we believe others soldiers will come and they will find out this bunker is under yours and dad's names. It is just a precaution measurement, mother. We will knock them out and fly to Debleou Cursfee quickly, then we will head to Weglinnic, but we will only do it once you are an hour from the city or already in it. Our jet travels very fast."

Angelina took a long exhale and closed her eyes before responding, rubbing the back of her neck while lost in mind. "I think I know the location of this bunker. Chemeris' and I once visited a lot of bunkers on sale thirty years ago, that was when I bought the one you live in. If I remember well, the one in Weglinnic was one of the last we saw and the entrance is located inside of an underground cavern." She opened her eyes again, looking out the window and seeing the high mountains illuminated by the light of the moon. "You know, Weglinnic is home for the biggest forests Qorjal has, and the bunker is inside a Mincesuit biome." She said in an uncertain tone, feeling the weight of something while mentioning the forest and Isaac noticed.

"What is it? You sound weird."

"I see that you didn't pay much attention to your classes in school. Mincesuit forests are home for giant arthropods. The amount of oxygen on the biome is huge, that is the reason why they're big, which means they're more dangerous, more poisonous."

"The surroundings of the entrance must have protection properties, right? It is a basic need of every survival facility, even more in woods like that one." Isaac got up and transferred the call to his Lenses. He was going to switch clothes so he and Gavin could prepare to leave.

"It may have, I don't remember exactly, but Isaac, we are not surviving it inside a car. The first insect that hears the engine will attack us without thinking twice. Chemeris and I used a Korav undergroud tunnel. The floating shuttle goes quick and has a station in downtown Weglinnic."

"Can you go there? It works 36 hours a day? Gavin and I can unlock the underground doors and meet you there."

"Meet us?" She sounded uncertain again, not feeling sure if it was the time to show her family he was not dead.

"I think it is time to end up with the lies and secrets, mother. I will show up with Gavin... it will be quick we cannot take long."

"It's settled then. We will drive to Weglinnic and take the Korav. And oh, I will text you the coordinates, just going to check the map."
