CHAPTER 88: GET TOGETHER

"My primary objective upon assuming the role of President was to eradicate corruption within our workplace. Today, I express my deep appreciation to the former Lieutenant Giant 1 of the Tactical Flying Forces, Addunand Borhez, for his bravery and unwavering dedication in uncovering, examining and safeguarding sensitive information from falling into the wrong hands. Addunand Borhez identified around 300 cases of illicit activities inside the Federal Opus and the State Union. Subsequently, two of my aides were tasked with covertly scrutinizing the documents and disseminating it through appropriate media channels following authorization from the Public Data Security department."

"With the hard work of Adunnand Borhez and the huge efforts of Kita Palovizzei and Leonid Routhrekliv, I am pleased to announce that all cases of corruption, abuse, violence, violations, adulterations and espionages are all published to the country, being further investigated and judged by the Governmental Guard. This is not the end of corruption in the country yet, but sure is the crucial first step of its eradication."

Isaac walked away from the living room once the speech of his lover was successfully delivered to the press. He was holding a glass cup and since it was empty, Isaac was going to fill it up again. Inside the house, he was graced by the presence of Cameron, Yiulynna, Phelly, Addhament and Methorio. Cameron wanted to host something bigger with more guests, but Isaac said he was not allowed to turn the President's house into a college dormitory, so he decided to invite the same as always. Lola was also coming over for the drink night at the Malone's, but since she was in another state during the afternoon, she would take a bit longer.

They were all in the living room watching the live broadcast of the Symposium Room. A few journalistic channels were streaming it to the country like they usually do with important political announcements and discussions over the State Union. When Isaac returned to the living room, the first thing he heard was a loud WHAT? coming from Methorio, who abruptly stood up from the couch. They all had their eyes glued to the screen, wondering if what they heard was right or they were having hallucinations.

Isaac stopped by the side of the couch, being next to Cameron. Apparently, Gavin just announced his plan to discover The Other Country alongside the BHDM. The little man had a splendid smile splattered on his face as he watched the press conference turn into a mess in front of him. Journalists got up from their seats and talked loud, demanding explanations of how it would work, who was going to perform it, why he was doing that. Now, Gavin had another speech to show them.

"What happened?" Isaac asked casually like he was not aware of Gavin's words.

"Did you hear what he just said, Isaac?" Cameron said exasperated. "The man announced a mission to discover The Other Country! The Forbidden Land, Isaac! Do you remember how the stories about the place would scare us to death when we were kids?"

"No, I did not hear it. Rewind the video." As he said, Cameron grabbed the controller and went back a few minutes back where Gavin silently stared at the quiet crowd, taking courage to unveil to them. There were sixty journalists from different channels and online vehicles of news.

"You all know I appeared on the borders of the country out of nowhere, prompting speculations that I may have emanated from what is commonly referred to as The Other Country, situated on the opposite facet of Nix. I have contemplated the veracity of these assertions made by the population. The quest to ascertain one's origins, the formative influences, and the factors that have shaped one's existence is an essential aspect of human nature. My curiosity regarding the place is not only a personal pursuit but also a commitment to provide you with the truth you are entitled to. We have been here in this land for 2.500 years and so far we do not have a clue of how the other side looks. Are there inhabitants resembling us? The answer eludes us. Do monsters visit monthly? The question remains unanswered. Are the denizens rational entities akin to ourselves? The mystery persists."
