CHAPTER 19: IDIOSYNCRATIC

He felt the relief of being released from that grip. It felt like heavy tons were placed over his body and he could do nothing about it. When Isaac came back to reality, he saw Gavin sitting on the floor leaning against a log breathing hard, and having a lot of saliva coming out of his mouth. He walked with difficulty towards the boy, and sat in front of him next, analyzing what the hell just happened to him. But it was clear that the poison was already doing its effect. He grabbed Gavin's arm to see the holes again, and they were horrific. His skin was slowly turning black getting ready to die.

"We have to get t-that poison out of you." He said desperately. Isaac was going to suck the poison out of Gavin's wounds if still had time to do so.

"Stop, Isaac." Gavin said slowly, trying to push his arm away from Isaac, but he didn't have much strength in that arm. It felt like the poison was killing that part of his body first.

"Gavin, you cannot die. Let me do this." Isaac said in gritted teeth.

"So you will die instead. Is that it? Come on, Isaac. You say I'm stupid but look at you." He tried to get his arm away again, but Isaac was still holding it.

"You are the most important person to this country right now. I will not let you die." He prepared to put his mouth around the wound when a bullet brushed against his shoulder, making him scream in pain instantly.

Gavin just shot Isaac in an attempt to save his life. While he was busy thinking about the pain, Gavin himself sucked the wounds and spit the remaining red poison that had over there. The taste was terrible like he was just drinking acid that came out of a sewage pipe. Gavin screamed after putting the poison inside his mouth because it burned a lot, and after he spilled it, the sensation remained. He didn't acknowledge it, but his face was getting redder, just like his eyes, and the veins inside of it were intensely visible. The poison was turning his organism upside down.

When Isaac got back to his senses, he went mad at Gavin, screaming in his face. "WHY THE FUCK DID YOU DO THAT?"

"I spared you from..." His breath was still hard, and this time he coughed a bit. "From doing something incredibly stupid." Isaac held his shoulder where the bullet hit him. Gavin gave a good shot. It didn't pass through his shoulder but slightly touched on the side, enough to keep him busy for three minutes.

"And you just condemned my country to eternal hell."

"I am not dying today." His voice was still weak, but had confidence enough to convince Isaac that it was true. "Neither are you." Gavin closed his eyes and tried to control his breath, taking it back to normal. "Just give me a break."

Isaac stood there quietly, sitting in front of Gavin waiting for him to die or get back to normal. He was afraid he could die, but when his breathing came back to normal and he stopped salivating like a dog, Isaac realized that maybe he was out of danger. The holes were still open and black, but it was not spreading anymore. Gavin opened his eyes and took a deep breath. His mouth was completely red because he sucked the blood out of his arm so he cleaned his lips over his clothes.

"See? I a-am fine." He still had some difficulty talking, but it was coming back to normal. "I thought you may like this." Gavin opened his other hand to reveal several dark purple seeds in his hand, but he wasn't a bit hurt by touching them. The snake itself felt the power of getting in physical contact with those seeds, but Gavin remained normal.

Isaac saw it with wide eyes, but he rushed to grab the sealing recipients over his backpack to store as much as they could find. "I found it here in this plant. It grows a lot by its roots." Gavin explained and grabbed a few more seeds to put inside the recipient. Isaac never got into contact either the seeds because he fear that he would end up just like the snake. So when Gavin finished putting the seeds in, Isaac just locked, sealed, and put them back in the backpack.
