The magnificent two-story house had a unique design, discreet colors and innovative composition, at least from the time it was built. The exterior facade of the house was adorned with a combination of glossy white and metallic silver panels, that created a striking contrast, where the windows and doors were seamlessly integrated into the facade, featuring energy-efficient, floor-to-ceiling glass panels with a subtle tint, which frames were made of polished chrome, reflecting everything that passed by it.
The house did not have fences or anything limiting people to reach out. Every tourist could walk in the entire field that surrounded the place, but the windows weren't visible from the outside and were bulletproof, just like the front door, that couldn't be broken at any point. In general, the house was not big as a mansion, but it had its majesty for sure. The trio approached the front facade breathing hard, where a camera discreetly stood in the middle of the tall door, a height that was a bit higher than Isaac was.
"Alright. We have to put on a password somewhere. My mother said it could he related to you, Gavin. She firstly suggested it was your birthday. Do you know the date?" Isaac took the lead of the talk. Lola watched their backs to see if someone dangerous was coming in. They knew the Government Guard did patrols all day but in different shifts, so they would have to do it quickly no matter what, even more when the cameras on the streets already pictured them. It was just a matter of time before it was analyzed further in.
There was a panel on the door that allowed them to choose a way to put on the code. It could be typed in letters and numbers, a fingerprint could be scanned, just like the eyes retina and the entire face of an authorized person.
"I have no idea." Gavin answered towards his birth date, then he stood by Isaac's side and analyzed the options. "Face, retina, fingerprint. Let's try all of them."
"Could work. Your eyes and your fingerprints are the same since you were born."
Gavin took the helmet off and landed to Isaac. He couldn't use his fingerprints because he would have to take the entire suit off to use it, so he was trusting his father to have added his eyes to the retina scanner of the door. Gavin pressed the button to select the option, and the holographic lightning came out and slowed down a bit so it could reach his eyes. When it got in contact with his face, the blue light turned red, signaling that the scan had begun. While it happened, a car passed behind them in high speed, but still Isaac felt uneasy about it.
Gavin had his eyes wide open for the scanner. The brown irises of him felt the strong light hit the retinas instantly, but the scan only finished when the red light reached Gavin's nose. The light quickly went off and the digital screen went black, then the sounds of unlocking were heard, making Gavin quickly push the door to open it. "You are welcome to my house." He said to Lola and Isaac behind him when they did not notice the door was open. When they noticed Gavin accomplished their current goal, both of them ran inside the place with him, who closed the main entrance of the house as quickly as he opened.
"Welcome, Gavin Brandon Malone." An electronic voice said after the door as locked again, and they faced a wide and tall living room. They were greeted by a vibrant, illuminated walkway, which the big grey tiles of the floor emitted a soft ambient glow, accentuating the illumination of the room, that was turned on automatically when the sensors realized people were inside after 22 years.
They faced a spacious and open layout, designed to maximize comfort and functionality. The walls, reaching six meters long, were adorned with smart glass panels that can adjust transparency and display stunning visual effects or panoramic views of their choice, just like they had in the bunker, while the lightning they were currently seeing was bathed in soft, customizable colors that can adapt to the need or activities taking place. The wide space is filled with sleek and minimalist furniture, exuding elegance with simplicity. Plush, contoured couches and chairs designed the living room, the first place they encountered.
