"Are you sure about it? We already have plenty of things to be resolved. If you forgot we are going to The Other Country, and that demands training, Gavin." Isaac said in reluctance, but he was almost 100% bought by the idea.
"We will fly to the other side only two months from now, Isaac. The trainings will only take place after we have a marked day to launch, which is still being decided. Zarkobretch wants it done in two months but it could be more than that."
Isaac took a deep breath and directed his eyes to the little figure in front of him. "I feel I am going to regret this."
"You don't need to do it if you don't want to. I didn't want to go by myself but if that is the only way to go I wouldn't mind." Gavin also crossed his arms, imitating his lover and his thoughtful pout.
"And I do not want you to go inside a minefield by yourself. When we will start?"
"Not now. I gave Weyheimee a week for him to gather other informations that could be useful to us. Let's take advantage of this time and search into Kyedoth's personal file. It is somewhere in the Central Base of the Opus, as Alexei said. We'll go there sometime next week and find something valuable."
"Alexei could not keep its mouth shut today, huh?"
"Can you believe that? I wonder what's gotten into him today, but I won't complain because he is all about throwing enigmas at us and letting us discover by ourselves and I am sick of it. However, we don't need to do it alone, not entirely at least. If the things Weyheimee said are not true, we can get anyone involved and it would be much easier."
"I do not think it will be simple as you make it sound, Gavin." Isaac sat by his side and look directly in his eyes. "Money runs this country. Literally. Kyedoth placed a cultural stamp that works this way, and anyone can be bought. The people involved inside the Thinnest Web are not mid rich individuals. They are the definition of wealth. That is why they are well hidden. Everything works on their favor."
"You sound like you know it well."
"It is not the first time a group of people are mentioned in such disturbing activities. We all have seen it before. They just innovated in the ways of persuading the victims."
"Can I ask you a very honest question?" Isaac nodded positively. "Has anyone ever tried to change how this place works? I don't know the entire history of this country, but the more I learn the more in unbelief I get. How can you live in such a sophisticated society and have these inhuman things happening like it is normal?" Gavin showed his displeasure with the way Qorjal happened.
"You still did not understand that there were no one above Kyedoth until you arrived. If he wanted to put ten thousand people on fire in the middle of the Square of the State Union he would do it and nothing would happen to him. Chemeris and Kyedoth were above anyone, because this country belongs to their surname."
"They were two children inside old men's bodies. Everything was made out of rivalry, ego and power. It irritates me a lot."
"I noticed. You have to understand that everyone just accepts the faiths they were born into. I believe that you and I were the only ones that ran out of that line. I tried to murder Kyedoth to get him out of presidency. You killed him and became the President. Those are the most serious acts of rebellion against him that ever happened. I believe billions of people wanted to change Qorjal for better, but the power above their heads was bigger and stronger than the force they had in all their hands. Besides the need to change, we need to be sure of our survival before doing anything, you understand?" Isaac opened a smile, explaining why people in the country just accepted the machiavellian oppression from their superior. "You will change how things work here. Thats is why you will enter history."
