The sound of a despondent call echoed in her ear as she was drown in the melancholy of losing a dear person again. Angelina was outside the State Union, in a private square near the main entrance where photographers and journalists gathered themselves because of the election. The square was almost empty, having a few people walking around, smoking or taking a seat and enjoying the sunlight and the momentary peace after such chaotic events during the day and month were over. Angelina had her eyes sore from crying and she felt the need to talk to somebody away from the political scenario and away from that place. She dried her face with the back of her hand and put her cellphone by the side of her ear, waiting for a response on the other side. Eventually, the called picked up and Angelina left the device floating next to her ear.

"It cannot be true, Angie. It just can't." Lysandra Pyotr said with her eyes glued on the TV. The result was just announced and the entire room was kneeling for Kyedoth. "We have to do something, Angie. We can't let Gavin die."

"There is nothing to be done, Lola. Kyedoth is invincible." Angelina said. "I feel so guilty. My son is heartbroken, Gavin is about to be murdered and we are all sad... everything because 22 years ago I agreed with Chemeris' stupid ideas of sacrificing the youth of our children." Remorse was evident in her voice.

"You always did the right thing, Angie. Taking that rat out of the presidency was the best thing this world could ever see." Lola's voice was defined by anger, but also by sorrow. "I didn't even say goodbye for him. Our little Gavin... oh Gods." She felt like crying again after remembering the good memories she had with Gavin over these months.

"Honestly, Lola, it is better this way. Just turn off your television and spare yourself. I am creating courage to call Isaac. I presume he is feeling miserable-" She stopped her sentence when she heard a blasting sound of explosion coming from inside the State Union. It was like the barrier of sound was surpassed right in front of her. Angelina turned back to look at the building and she saw that a lot of people were running out of the place in desperation and hurry. "Did you hear that, Lola?"

"I did. What was that?" Lola looked at the television and the images were gone. The broadcast channel said they didn't have signal for the cameras inside the Cube Room. "The streaming is off. What happened over there, Angie?"

"Honey, I don't know..." Angelina narrowed her eyes, trying to see better the view of people running away from the entrance. She grabbed her glasses over her purse and zoomed the view to the main staircase of the building, and she saw people screaming like there was a serial killer inside the place - and indeed, a killer was present in the State Union, but it was not a person, it was not a machine or an animal. It was simply a noncrystalline solid having its resistance tested to the highest limits. "People are running out of the building. Something is going on."

"You better leave, Angie. If anything happens, Gavin can take care of himself."

"I will talk to you later, Lysandra." Angelina turned the call off and started walking to the entrance again. The curiosity took the best of herself, and when she was in the middle of the way, another earsplitting sound echoed in the environment, but this time, louder and more aggressive. The power was so strong that it blew all the windows of the building and also the ceiling, throwing pieces of thick glass and metallic structures everywhere. A wave of strength threw Angelina's body away in almost five meters, making her fall to the ground and hit her back in a tree.

She gathered forces to get up and understand what just happened. With a dizzy view, she saw that people were running everywhere in desperation and some fell mysteriously to the ground. What she didn't realize quickly was that sharp pieces of glass were falling from the sky, and a giant one just hit the floor next to her. That made Angelina run as well, seeking for somewhere with a ceiling to protect her from the thick glass the Cube was made of.
