Isaac kept calling Gavin several times during his flight back to Debleou Cursfee, but he denied every request of talking coming from the Bethervan. Gavin felt destroyed by doing it. Isaac didn't deserve that type of suffering but it was for his own good, and Gavin would keep doing it to keep him safe.
When the plane landed on the launching platform of his house, Gavin put the armor back on the suitcase and left the laboratory, heading to the front facade of the house, where an automatic car waited for him so he could go to the airport and get back to Qorjal in time to prepare for the voting. He was planning on staying in Angelina's house for the night. Gavin was going to talk to her and clarify somethings about this sensitive situation they were going through.
Already in Qorjal, on the way to Angelina's place, he texted her so she was aware that he was coming. The lady thought Gavin was accompanied by his son, like he always is, but when she heard the front door being unlocked and didn't see the tall frame of her son, Angelina frowned. "What's with that face, Gavin?" The misery in Gavin's features was the first thing she noticed. "Where is Isaac?" Gavin didn't respond. "Where is Isaac, Gavin?" Then he exploded in tears again, froze in space and sobbing like a child. Angelina was dumbfounded, thinking that something happened to her son.
"Isaac... he is fine. I left him in the bunker with your family, Angelina. I couldn't let him go with me tomorrow... I couldn't..." Gavin dried his tears but more came from his eyes. "He wanted to be with me during the voting but when I lose Kyedoth will kill both of us."
"Oh, dear..." Angelina hugged Gavin strongly and the boy returned the act. Angelina was always like a mother to Gavin, and in that moment he needed the comfort that only her could provide. "Don't say things like that. We don't know what the destiny reserved for us tomorrow."
"I know, Angelina, and it is terrible things. I know I am not going to make it tomorrow. I know Kyedoth will kill me tomorrow... and Isaac doesn't deserve that." He recomposed himself and let go of her. "You should be with them, Angelina."
"Don't you want me to go with you on the voting?"
"No, no. It is fine. You should be with your family. Isaac needs you now."
"Dear, don't be defeated in advance. The Gods praise the love, and what you and Isaac have are the purest type of love. They will not let you away from each other."
"I hope you are right, Angelina... but I mean it. Go to Weglinnic, stay with your family, and please, do not mention me to Isaac. I think it will only make things worse for him."
"Alright. I will go. Are you ready for tomorrow?"
"I am. I was never afraid of the voting. What gets me crying is because I don't want to lose all of you."
"Why don't you go upstairs and I prepare something for you to drink and sleep peacefully? It will do good for you now."
"Alright. I will take a bath." Gavin dried his tears with the back of his hand and walked up the stairs. Angelina watched the scene with her heart broken. Anguish was settled in her mind when she thought about the way Isaac must be in the moment. Things were so sensitive now. She was feeling lost in the desert, because even though she wanted to do something to help them, she didn't know what she could put up to.
Angelina decided to make a dense lopilla tea for Gavin, so he would sleep quick and in peace. When she walked up the stairs with the drink in hands, she saw Gavin lying on Isaac's bed in fetal position while he held the pillow Isaac sleeps in. He had his back turned to Angelina, but he knew when she entered the room. She didn't want to bother Gavin so she just left the tea on the bedside table and left the room, going for her own bedroom to gather her stuff to go to Weglinnic once again.
