I wake up in a sweat. Another nightmare or reality. I don't think I've fully accepted this. The thing I call my life. Why did both of my parents have to die? It's not fair.
My cellphone buzzes.
Unknown: hey, honey.
Me: who is this?
Unknown: Your mother, sweetie.
I feel my heart thumping, my whole body is shaking and sweating. A tear hits my phone screen. Who would do something like this?
I set my phone down without answering. But I can't sleep. I'm still struggling to breathe, and I'm still shaking.
