When the Immediate Murder Professionals (I.M.P) are called in to kill a target from Hell, Loona the hellhound finds a lost human boy snooping on them.
Suddenly guilty of harming him, she brings him to their home in Hell to patch him up, and later on...
Balin wakes up in bed still in his PJ's, but in another room. He looks around to see where he is, as he sees Loona isn't there snuggling with him. But he then yawns, showing that he woke up in the right place.
He hopped out of the bed to open the curtains which showed a shit-ton of buildings through the window, along with a morning sky that was blue instead of bright red. He could also see a beach in the far background, showing he was in a hotel of some kind.
That's right, he was back in the mortal realm. And in a massive city called the Gold Coast.
He walked into the kitchen of the hotel room to see his parents Raven and Elton were quietly making lattes and prepping breakfast. Balin sat at the table seeing his already prepped for him. It was toasted bread with a strange but nationally-loved condiment called... uh... Vegemite!
In Australia, Vegemite is not only considered a spread, but a cultural icon. Just ask the jingle, it's as bonkers as I.M.P's.
After the breakfast, the three all set out for a day of adventure. They left the room and exited the hotel through a shortcut that lead to the shopping mall next door.
A mall interconnected with a hotel; What would you think of next?
Then, they walked out of the mall and started walking along what was believed to be a massive promenade. A street full of shops, restaurants, entertainment parlours galore. As if it was yet another mall.

The Johnson family went to all kinds of cool places along this 'pedestrian mall': An ice-cream parlour that served a revolutionary range of 31 flavours. An arcade filled with tons of fun games (including Dance Dance Revolution which he won a contest to), a donut shop where Raven blowed bubbles in Balin's milkshake making him laugh (though she was against sugar), a beer-garden where Elton watched a game of football on the big screen whilst drinking a glass of beer,
And finally, a local store selling movies and balloons. ...Which Raven & Elton quickly steered him away from with nervous smiles on their faces. And just in time too, for good reason.
