IN GLUTTONY...
Tex still carried Balin in his beefy arms as they arrived back at Gluttony from the elevator station. With one of his hands, he whistled for a cab and waited about 10 seconds before one pulled up for them, missing a tire on one of its wheels.
As the car drove along the yellow brick road, Balin was bouncing up and down on his seat from the bumps, even with his seatbelt wrapped tightly around him. But Tex just remained on his seat due to his muscle strength while he kept hitting the roof of the car.
Giggling at this sight, Tex soon held him down with one of his paws.
"Is that better now, Balin?" he asked him. "Uh-huh. Thank you Tex." the boy took a deep breath.
"No probs." the buff hellhound replied. "Now just to let you know, this is me and Bee's first time watching over you for the day as well as mine, but the thing is... Bee's not exactly experienced in babysitting. Yet. But I promise, we'll both take good care of you as much as we can."
"OK. I understand." smiled Balin.
"Not that I'm saying we won't do a great job, but Bee probably won't have some time to help you out on your little homework as much as I can."
"Oh, that's still okay." repeated Balin kindly. "I mean, who does homework on a Saturday."
Tex laughed again as he said that. "People who get back to school, that's who." he joked and patted his shoulders. "But, it's part of back-to-school blues. You'll get used to them."
"OK." Balin resiliently gave in with a playful tone. "So... does Bee know that I'm coming over for the day?"
"Well..." Tex showed a kitty-like smile perking up his eyebrows.
A few moments later... AT BEE'S MANSION:
The two arrived at Bee's mansion, and as Tex paid the cab driver, Balin knocked on the door excitedly, before remembering his previous experience being at one of Bee's parties. Trying to play this one safe, he stood a few feet back from the door, next to the railing down the stairway.
"Kid, you okay?" Tex chuckled as he walked up to him.
"Yeah. Just waiting for the cotton candy to flood the stairway. Or for any other hellhounds to not go feral." replied Balin.
"Don't worry Balin. I'm sure that won't happen this time."
Soon, the door burst open with a flood of cotton candy streaming down the stairs at Balin and Tex's feet.
"You were saying?" Balin looked up at Tex with a somewhat flat but smug grin.
"Okay, so I'll make sure only that one happened. I promise." Tex chuckled rubbing the back of his head, and soon, Bee appeared from the cotton candy. Her head peered through the mess in a cute way, like a dog or a submarine.
"Holy shit, TEX!" she exclaimed, squeezing him a hug by his neck. "Now isn't that ironic you'd be home from work early."
"Like I said I would babe." replied Tex.
"Even so, the place could use our little... TLC again... if you know what I mean."
"And... I brought some help." Tex replied to her, and moved his leg out of the way to present Balin.
"Aww hello Balin!" Bee knelt down to him, gave him her soft hug with all four of her arms, and then an even softer kiss on the cheek. "It's so good to see you again, sweetie-pie."
"I'm so excited to be here as well, Bee." Balin replied with his usual kindness and warm smile, making her rub his other cheek affectionately.
"Why? What brings you back here so fast after last night?" she asked him.
