The snow fell gently outside as Rae drove to work. She admired the softness of the flakes, as their shape dissipated when they landed on her windshield. Rae loved the winter. She loved feeling cozy inside a toasty house, snuggled up with a book and hot tea. It was an introvert's dream season.

On top of that, Rae's favorite holiday was Christmas. The twinkling lights, roaring fires, thoughtful gift giving, time with close friends and loved ones, delicious food filled with sugar and happiness. She felt it was the perfect holiday, and despite the pandemic, she was grateful to see people still adding holiday cheer with Christmas displays adorning her drive.

Rae's mom, Lorena, video-called Rae as she got ready for work that morning. She told Rae how much they were looking forward to their annual Clark family Christmas party. They would rent out the local church and have a potluck of food, sing Christmas carols, exchange gifts, and always end with a visit from Santa for the kids. It was a night filled with good food, good people, and good memories.

Rae hadn't been able to attend the party for the last two years. She wished so badly she could see her family. Being away from them was difficult, but it felt even harder when the holidays came around. She was homesick, and she hoped next year she would be there.

Lorena asked Rae about her holiday plans. Christmas was next week. Rae had a long weekend with the holiday, but she had no plans. Ji-Sun was headed to her uncle's house outside the city, and she had invited Rae to come with her. Ji-Sun's entire extended family was getting together to celebrate. Rae had attended last year with Ji-Sun, and it was a pleasant time, except for the fact that she was still haunted by the cringy things Ji-Sun's cousin had said to her while he was wasted. It wasn't exactly Rae's preferred way to celebrate her favorite holiday.

The morning with Rae's first two patients went incredibly slow. Rae found her focus wandering from the anticipation of seeing Min. She knew she was distracted, and she reprimanded herself for not being able to separate her work life from her personal feelings. She prided herself in being professional, and being absent-minded with other patients was not how she worked, but she couldn't deny how eager and excited she was to see Min.

Rae tried to not walk too quickly to the elevator when she arrived, and she tried not to have her heart beat too fast when he opened the door, but one look at his face was it all it took for him to be her undoing.

His face was always so stoic and composed. She was certain others may take Min as ornery or rude, but Rae saw past it. Min was so much more under the surface. His composure came from silent confidence, not arrogance. His lack of exaggerated facial expressions came from his attentive eye, always watching, always observing. His quiet intelligence was insanely attractive. He only spoke if his words had relevance, and his thoughts were deep and meaningful. He had such an all-encompassing view of the world around him, and he portrayed it so well in his art of producing and songwriting. He had a beautiful way of articulating his mind. He was cautious and reserved, but loyal and pensive. Rae was obsessed with all of it. Rae was starting to feel obsessed with him.

Min bowed and casually ushered Rae into the apartment, taking a seat on the couch.

"How are you feeling today?" Rae asked right away, trying her best to remain focused on the real reason she was assigned to be with Min.

He seemed nervous as he rubbed his left arm gently in its sling. "Mmm, I'm alright."

"Are you sure you're OK?" Rae inquired with concern.

Min pushed his loose hair back with his free hand and let out a deep exhale, a half-side smile showing on his lips. "I'm more concerned if you're OK. I need to apologize again for Jin yesterday. I was mortified you had to be here to witness worldwide handsome in his fullest."
