For the remainder of the morning and afternoon, Min was in his room, working on a song that had a deadline approaching. Thankfully Nim had stopped by shortly after breakfast, returning Rae's phone, which gave her some outlet to focus on since she still didn't need to return to work until the following week.

Rae's phone looked the same, but Nim had assured her they had installed software to protect her and her social media from being targeted. With full access again to her phone, and avoiding the news like Nim asked her to, Rae settled on a video call to Ji-Sun.

"You are meeting the enigmatic Min family?" Ji-Sun's jaw was nearly on the floor, her hair wrapped tightly back in a towel as she had just finished a spa treatment at the hotel. Ji-Sun truly was being pampered and she had already told Rae how it had been the most amazing twenty-four hours of her life. Rae was glad she was enjoying her mandatory lockdown from the world.

Rae nodded. "I am, and I feel terrified."

Ji-Sun let out a tisk sound. "You should be, where do you think Yoongi gets his hard exterior from?"

"Min doesn't have a hard exterior," Rae snapped.

Ji-Sun rolled her eyes. "You're seeing through rose-colored glasses. Do you not recall your first few encounters with him? You wanted to switch routes, remember? Because you said he was moody and rude?"

Rae opened her mouth to speak but struggled to find the right words. Ji-Sun barreled on anyway. "Look, obviously he isn't that way because you've managed to wrap him around your finger, and you are equally wrapped around his, but to the rest of the world, he's the hardest member to crack and a lot of ARMY think it stems from his daddy issues."

Rae put up her hand to stop Ji-Sun. "I don't want to hear what the internet or ARMY's have said. If I am going to hear it, I will hear it straight from the source. I have never wanted to make prejudgments about any part of Min."

Ji-Sun offered a slow clap. "As always, Ms. Rae, the Saint. No wonder he's so obsessed with you."

"Do you have anything to say that would actually be helpful right now?" Rae countered.

Ji-Sun popped a piece of chocolate in her mouth and reclined on her oversized bed. "Hmm, well, if I were meeting one of the world's biggest popstars family, I would probably be most focused on what to wear. What all did you pack?"

Rae turned around her phone so Ji-Sun could see all of Rae's wardrobe options, and her reaction was anything but comforting.

"Eww, Rae Bae, why is half your wardrobe plaids or collared shirts?" Ji-Sun whined.

"I packed for Montana, remember? Not meet the parents," Rae defended.

"It shows. Did you even pack a dress? Or some business-looking pants? Or a blouse?"

Rae felt her face go pale and her body beginning to panic. "Ji-Sun, I'm totally screwed."

"It's not a big deal! Everything will work out. As long as you knock it out of the park with your hair and makeup, then they won't even notice what you are wearing."

Rae groaned. "I can't believe this is happening."

Ji-Sun's face suddenly became serious as she looked intensely at the phone to give Rae a pep talk. "You'll win them over, Rae. You won over the heart of their son. Trust me, you'll be just fine, and your hair, makeup, and wardrobe aren't going to show them what really matters - and that's your pure, amazing heart. They're the lucky ones that you are dating their son, don't forget that."

Rae shook her head, scoffing through a smile. "That is the cheesiest thing you have ever said to me."

Ji-Sun burst out in uncontrollable laughter. "I know, if I am being honest, I may be feeling a little extra mushy this morning from all the champagne."

Rae couldn't even chuckle as her friend continued with her giggling. "Enjoy your champagne and chocolates, I'm going to go now," Rae said, offering a short wave as she hung up the phone and threw it across the bed, her hands pulling at her hair as she looked at the few options in her closet.

Rae didn't know how long she had been standing there until Min knocked at the door.

"You OK, sunshine?" Min took a few slow strides, wrapping Rae into his arms as he studied the closet that Rae had been stuck looking at.

"I don't have anything appropriate to wear for meeting your family," Rae explained her predicament.

Min hummed. "It's a BBQ, Rae, not a formal dinner. Anything you brought will be great."

Rae bit back her nerves. "But this is their first impression of me."

"No, their first impression of you is probably the photo of us circulating the internet," Min teased.

Rae's eyes went wide as she realized he was right. Rae's hands went to her face, her cheeks going pale as she thought of the severity of the situation. "Min, I don't think I can do this," she admitted her feelings of absolute fear.

Min pulled Rae to the side, sitting next to her on the bed and taking her hands in his. "I won't make you meet them if you aren't ready. You don't have to leave this room if you don't want to. I will never put you in a situation you aren't comfortable being in, you know that," Min reminded her, his acceptance easing her worries.

Rae sighed. "I want to meet them, I really do. I am just worried about being a disappointment to them, and if I disappoint them...then I disappoint you."

Min's eyes became stern as he looked at Rae. "That is not true. I mean it when I say I could care less what the world's opinions are of me, or of you, and the same is true for the opinions of my family. All that matters is what I think, and my thoughts are made up. There isn't another soul in this world I'd rather be with, and there isn't a single woman greater than you. To hell with what anyone else thinks," Min stated matter-of-factly.

Rae couldn't contain the smile that was spreading wide across her lips, her hand holding the M initial around her neck. "Do you ever take a break from saying just the right things?"

Min smiled. "Not when it comes to you. I can't have you feeling anything less than perfect, and I will always be here when you need the reminder." Min placed a soft kiss on Rae's cheek.

Rae sighed, the heaviness in her chest slowly lifting as she looked at Min. "I know you were probably stressed about meeting my family but meeting yours...the weight of it feels different. I don't have any idea what to expect."

Min leaned back on his left arm, calmly looking up at Rae. "Would it help if I told you a bit about them before they arrive?"

Rae's curiosity was peaked, but she quickly shut down her interest. "I don't want to interrupt the project you were working on."

"I'm finished with work for today," Min said, fully lying down on the bed now, crossing his hands over his chest and closing his eyes. "They'll arrive in an hour. In the meantime, what do you want to know? I'm an open book."

Rae paused, debating how to approach the subject. Min had suggested on a few occasions that he had a more tense relationship with his parents, but Rae didn't want to pry. Rae had to remind herself that Min was offering to share, and Rae felt this was the opportunity to get to know another side of Min - a deeper, darker side of Min - a side she hoped she was prepared for.

A/N: This is a part of Yoongi that I have been eager to write about. I feel like this life story has so much to do with who he is and I have looked forward to capturing that to share with you all. I hope you enjoy these next few chapters with meeting the family and diving a bit deeper into Yoongi's past! Thank you for the comments, votes and support! - E
