Rae felt like she was in a different dimension as she sat at her kitchen table. Miles seemed to be in shock, Lorena looked twitter-patted, and Steve looked like he was zoning in on a kill.

After an abrupt introduction to her father, Rae rushed Min into the living room to meet Miles and Lorena. They were all equally as surprised to see Min, and Lorena's first instinct in any awkward or tense situation was to try and remedy it with food. Lorena had ushered everyone to the kitchen for a late-night drink of tea and Min graciously accepted her thrown-together offering, sipping out of Miles's extra large cowboy boot mug.

"Thank you, Mrs. Clark," Min said as Lorena placed the mug in front of him.

"Agust D...is sitting at our kitchen table, drinking out of my mug," Miles blubbered.

"Do you want this mug?" Min asked, putting down the drink before he took a sip. "And you can call me Hyung, remember?" Min replied smiling.

Miles nervously chuckled and nodded his head, waving his hands. "No, no, please, I would be honored if you use my mug. I am happy with this one," Miles said timidly, lifting up the snowflake mug proudly that contained his evening tea.

Rae felt herself cringe at the level of awkwardness her whole family was displaying. She wished she could have prepared them all to meet Min, however, she wasn't convinced it actually would have made it better even if she had the warning ahead of time. Her family was awkward in general, so adding in a boyfriend, and one that was a superstar, only escalated their weirdness.

Min took it in stride and politely smiled, sipping his tea and perfectly making casual conversation. "How are you feeling, Miles?"

"Oh, you mean from this?" Miles shamelessly lifted up his shirt, showing off his bandage. "It's just a scratch, there was nothing to make a fuss about, I was totally fine," Miles laughed.

Rae couldn't help but roll her eyes at Miles's acting when just yesterday he almost cried when she had applied the ointment to the stitches because it "looked so gross". He was overdoing it trying to appear cool, but Rae let him do as he wanted. Min had already witnessed the oddness of her family rather quickly, so she didn't feel there was much left to shield him from. Any damage that would be done had already happened, so Rae chose to grin and bear it.

"I am happy to hear you are OK," Min said. "I know Rae is too," Min smiled at Rae, and she felt herself instantly relax at the exchange.

Lorena cleared her throat and turned expectantly to Steve, giving him a suggestive look. "Steve, is there anything you would like to say to Min?"

Steve had been completely silent since Min's arrival, only offering a few grunts and nods. Steve's unimpressed glare hadn't melted off his face, his eyes evaluating Min. "Mm. Yeah. Where are you planning on sleeping?" Steve finally piped up.

Lorena smacked Steve's arm. "Here, Steve, he is staying here," Lorena inserted.

Min shook his head. "I arranged for a hotel in town, I didn't want to be a burden, but I wanted to see Rae as soon as I arrived so I came here first. I apologize that my visit to you all is so late in the evening," Min replied cooly, not fazed by Steve's response.

Lorena shook her hands in refusal. "Nonsense. Town is over thirty minutes away. The snow is heavy and there is a winter storm warning tonight. I won't let you be stuck in a hotel room by yourself on Christmas because of the weather. You'll stay here," Lorena shot a warning glance at Steve. "Won't he, Steve?"

"Where is he going to sleep?" Steve replied.

"Hyung can sleep in my room!" Miles immediately offered. "The recliner is more comfortable for me to sleep in any way right now, I got used to the elevated hospital bed, and sleeping flat puts a lot of pressure on my stitches."

Lorena nodded. "That works perfectly." Lorena raised an eyebrow at Steve, nudging his elbow. "Anything else you wanted to say, Steve?"

Steve barely coughed out the words but was forced into submission by Lorena's intense warning glares. "Thank you for flying my daughter home," he muttered under his breath.

Min respectfully nodded, noting how uncomfortable Steve was. "You're welcome. Rae's well-being and happiness are my priority, and family comes first. I couldn't watch her worry in Korea. I am glad she could come here and be welcomed with good news."

Lorena clasped her hands, her face beaming. "Min, you may be the greatest gentleman I have ever met. We are so pleased to have you stay with us for Christmas and to get to know you better." Lorena looked to Rae, finally giving her the escape she had desperately wanted from the start. "Sweetheart, why don't you show Min to his room? I'm sure he's exhausted from his flight."

Rae jumped at the opportunity, encouraging Min to follow her, and led him away from the circus for the night.
