Rae woke up to the sound of pots and pans clanking on the stove. The smell of ham and cheese hashbrowns filled her nostrils. Rae's mouth watered as she envisioned the orange rolls she knew her mom was baking, and she immediately became excited to have her traditional Christmas breakfast.

Rae looked out her window at the slow-falling snow, and her heart burned with gratitude that she was home for Christmas, with Min in the next room. Rae couldn't have dreamed of anything better.

Rae quietly hurried to make herself presentable, adding extra makeup to her face and curling her hair. She put on her family's matching Christmas Eve pajamas, taking in the buffalo plaid button-up flannel pattern reflecting back at her in the mirror.

Rae exhaled and quietly opened the door, worried to wake Min from his needed sleep. But to Rae's surprise, the door to Miles's room was wide open.

Rae peeked her head in and noticed the bed was perfectly made, and Min's bag was neatly closed at the edge of the mattress.

Rae cautiously approached the kitchen and quietly watched the scene before her.

Min was wearing a festive Christmas sweater and tan trousers, his hair smoothly laid back against the base of his neck. Min was holding a whisk, thoroughly mixing scrambled eggs as Lorena hummed while making icing for the rolls.

Rae quietly stayed back in the hallway, smiling like a love-sick fool as she admired the little interactions between her boyfriend and mother. Min was effortlessly confident as he moved around the kitchen and Lorena was obviously impressed. Min wasn't timid or stern, intimidating or cold. He was warm, self-assured, and observant. Lorena had clearly already melted over Min, and her large and happy grin was an indication of her sincere approval of him.

Rae was enjoying her little slice of heaven on Christmas when suddenly her nervous system was sent into complete fight-or-flight, her arms coming up to defend herself as she processed a sudden loud intrusion.

"Boo!" Miles's shouted, poking at Rae's side as she jumped.

Rae put her hand over her chest, her heart racing as she swatted in annoyance at her brother.

The outburst had gathered Lorena and Min's attention, and both of them stopped to watch Miles and Rae.

"Merry Christmas, Rae Rae! Merry Christmas, Hyung!" Miles said enthusiastically, dancing over to give Lorena a kiss on the forehead. "Merry Christmas, Ma. This is going to be the best Christmas yet," Miles said assuredly.

Min smiled at Rae, waving his whisk in a greeting as Rae got her bearings. Rae smiled back and jumped in to help with the breakfast preparations, squeezing past Miles to stand next to Min. Miles grunted and huffed, but gave up the space to help Lorena with the rolls.

Min nudged Rae with his elbow. "Merry Christmas, sunshine," Min said quietly.

"Merry Christmas," Rae said.

Min shook his head to try and move a stray strand of hair that had fallen into his eyes, and Rae pushed his silky hair out of the way, tucking it behind his ear. Rae couldn't believe how different Min looked in his Christmas attire, but she loved every bit of it.

"You look cute today," Rae teased but meant every word.

Min laughed. "It's a gift from Hobi, actually. He bought all the members matching Christmas sweaters this year," Min explained away his unusual choice of attire.

Rae nodded. "You'll have to tell Hobi that I appreciate his gift because honestly, I love it," Rae admitted quietly, holding back a smile.

"You can tell him yourself later today," Min said.
