The bright sunlight flooded the room, and Rae wanted to dive deeper into the sheets. Her body was exceptionally warm and her mind was in a groggy state as she tried to arise from the deep haze of her dreams. She moaned in protest as her body chose not to fall back asleep. Rae had desperately wanted to wander back into her dreams to find Min once again until she was reminded her reality was far better than her dreams.
Rae suddenly felt Min's hand tracing her upper back, his fingers moving back and forth over the clip of her bra, while occasionally brushing Rae's hair over her shoulder. Rae could feel the heat radiating through her, Min's body contoured perfectly to hers, his bare chest pressed into her lower back and shoulder. The events of the night before flashed through Rae's mind - the reliving of each scene caused knots in her stomach all over again.
Min had been intense but remained a gentleman, not pushing the boundaries past what Rae had encouraged. She felt flustered and embarrassed remembering how she tried to take off his shirt, and when that failed, how Min seamlessly handled it himself, and how it took every shred of control that she had left to try to not rip off the rest of the clothing on his body. Rae hated to admit how much further she wanted to let last night go. The fire Min lit inside of Rae felt masochistically out of her control.
Rae felt herself get nervous as she dared to turn just enough to catch a glimpse of the dark angel lying next to her. Min's version of bedhead only added volume to his luscious, black locks. His dark eyes were alert and focused as he stared at Rae's back, studying her skin. She felt herself shiver as his featherlight touch tickled around her shoulder, and he displayed his lethal smile, biting his rosy lips.
Rae felt her outburst of courage last night quickly weaning under the brightness of the day. She felt self-conscious that she was half-naked next to the most gorgeous man she had ever seen, or been with, in her life. She had a surge of imposter syndrome and tugged at the comforter to shield her raw form. Before she could hide away entirely, Min caught her hand, pulling the sheets back in the opposite direction, exposing her even more than before.
"Don't hide from me," he demanded, nuzzling his body deeper into hers. "Now that you've given me a taste of you, you can't take it back." Min's arm wrapped around Rae's waist, pulling at the waistband of the borrowed sweatpants as he drew her in closer and placed a soft, long kiss on her bare shoulder. "Unless you're trying to torture me," he suggested in his husky voice, which was even deeper in the morning hours.
Rae's body shuddered and she could feel his lips twist into a smile. Min lightly bit her shoulder and pulled back, studying her face. His longing expression made Rae's insecurities immediately fade away. He had an uncanny ability to make her feel worthy of all the magnificence that he was, even if it wasn't true. Rae couldn't contain the pleasure that he elicited inside of her, and she knew he could see it.
"I don't plan to take it back," Rae bit her lip, holding in a smile.
Min hummed as he leaned his head down to place a slow, perfect kiss on Rae's lips, and Rae melted deeper into the bed. She never wanted to move, and she never wanted him to stop. She secretly hoped whatever he had planned for today could somehow fit in a few more hours of being like this.
Ring. Ring. Ring.
Rae's body tensed at the sound that was now taking over the room. Min paused, and looked behind him, spotting Rae's cell phone ringing on the floor near his bed.
Min didn't seem even slightly fazed as he scooped up the phone and looked at the caller's I.D.
"It's your brother," Min said, turning the phone for Rae to see.
Rae cursed in her mind, and snagged back her phone, muting her brother immediately.
"You're not going to answer?" Min inquired, raising an eyebrow at her.
Rae felt like she had done something wrong. "I can call him back later," she rebuttled.
Min shook his head, stood up, and walked over to his closet. He came back with a hoodie that he tossed to Rae and a long-sleeved shirt for himself, pulling the fabric over his head to cover his chest. He held out his hand, motioning for Rae to give him the phone. Rae's face went white.
"Let me answer," he pressed.
Rae panicked. "I can answer, I just need to get this on..." Rae fumbled to put the hoodie on that Min had tossed to her. Min smiled, gently prying the phone away from Rae.
Rae felt helpless and frantic as Min slid the button to answer. She heard the line crackle and the screen began to echo her brother's voice. Rae barely got the hoodie on in time as she popped up in front of Min's face, tackling him to retrieve her phone. Just in time and out of breath, Rae angled the phone enough to miss Min's face.
Miles was wearing his favorite tan Carhartt beanie covering his red, wind-whipped cheeks. Rae observed that Miles was out in the forest, and she knew immediately where he was - they were cutting down the Clark family Christmas tree.
Miles squinted at the screen, his face displaying pure confusion. "Rae Rae? Where are you right now?" Miles leaned in closer to his phone as if it would provide more clarity on the receiving screen. "What are you wearing?" he asked, his voice concerned.
Rae felt her mouth go dry as she tried to formulate an answer, but before she could, Min casually forced himself into the view of the camera.
"Annyeonghaseyo," Min said innocently, waving a hand at Miles and giving a small bow.
Miles gave a double-blink as his eyes flitted back and forth between Rae and Min, his mouth slowly gaping wider and wider the longer he stared.
"Wait a minute..." Miles said, his finger now pointing at the screen. "Your...no, that's not right," Miles said, shaking his head.
Rae felt her stomach drop as Miles's eyes lit up. She knew that look, and she cringed as she awaited what was next.
Miles covered his mouth with his hand, his eyes wide in astonishment, stifling a scream.
"AGUST D?!"
