Thirty-Three.

Rae sat with Lorena on the couch, sipping homemade hot chocolate with a dash of cinnamon and ginger spice, her favorite holiday drink in her old red mug. Rae and Lorena watched Steve put up the new artificial Christmas tree in the corner of the living room, muttering curses under his breath as he shoved the metal components together, while Miles sat zoned out in the recliner watching a basketball game.

With Christmas day being tomorrow, Rae was grateful to spend the unexpected time with her family, and she was overwhelmed with relief that Miles was OK, but she couldn't deny how much it hurt her that she hadn't seen Min in almost a week.

She tried to focus on the positives, and not feel bitter about her holiday plans derailing. She was ecstatic to spend Christmas with her loved ones, but she had been looking forward to celebrating Christmas with Min too.

Rae was happy that Min had found other plans. He decided to join Namjoon and his family for the holidays. Rae had heard from Min sparsely, and she was glad that his time was being consumed with friends, but she missed him.

Rae was counting down the days until she returned to Korea. She planned to stay only a few days after Christmas and be back in Korea for New Year's.

A ring at the door made everyone perk up. It was past 9 P.M. and it wasn't often they would get visitors.

"Who is that?" Miles asked first, turning to Lorena.

Lorena shrugged. "Maybe a neighbor bringing by a last-minute Christmas gift? Maybe it's Joan," she suggested.

Rae smiled. She knew if it was Joan then that meant homemade Christmas rocky mountain fudge, and she insisted on getting the first bite. Rae jumped off the couch and ran to the door.

"I'll get it!" she said, not hesitating as she turned the knob and opened the door to be stunned by a gorgeous Christmas angel on her doorstep.

"Annyeonghaseyo, sunshine," the angel's deep voice whispered, and Rae felt like she was going into shock.

Min was casually standing on Rae's porch, and Rae couldn't believe what she was seeing. Min's silky hair was hidden under a black beanie. He had a black, thick scarf wrapped around his porcelain neck, the edge of it hiding his lips and nose. His eyes sparkled under the red and white Christmas lights that flashed on the roof above Min. He wore a black turtle neck and black trousers, with black Chelsea-style pointed-toe boots and a caramel-colored wool coat, and held an oversized black leather tote. He looked like a model who took a very wrong turn and someone had landed at Rae's door.

Rae couldn't hold back her excitement, she rushed at Min, throwing her arms around his neck, and burying her head into his smooth cashmere scarf.

"Am I dreaming right now?" she asked.

Min laughed and wrapped his free arm around Rae, squeezing her tightly. "This is as real as ever," he confirmed, pulling back and placing a soft kiss on Rae's cheek.

Rae beamed at Min. "How did you know where I live? How did you get here? I thought you had plans with Namjoon?"

Min shook his head, deliberately answering each question. "Ji-Sun helped me with getting your address. I took an airplane. I had plans with you, and I never intended to break them. Namjoon was just my cover so I could surprise you, and it looks like it worked," he answered simply.

Rae felt her mouth fall open, completely flabbergasted by how perfect Min was. "I unexpectedly came to the States, and you're still recovering from surgery, you would have been completely valid in breaking our Christmas plans," Rae pointed out.

"I didn't want to," he whispered, pressing his forehead into Rae's. "And I want to show you that I am a man of my word. I told you I would spend Christmas with you, so here I am," he smiled.

Rae felt completely speechless, and then reality was setting in. Min was here in person. Min would be meeting her family. Min would be seeing her humble home and life. Min would be celebrating an American Christmas, and Rae didn't know if it would meet his expectations. Rae also realized that she was standing in her freezing doorway in her old, grey sweater and no makeup, with her hair down and messy, and she suddenly felt embarrassed.

Before Rae could plan her next steps, Steve rounded the corner, his eyes dead set on Min, and Rae's mind raced in fear for what was about to happen next.

A/N: I hope this was a pleasant surprise for you all! I know we all missed Min, but I felt the story needed a change of scenery. I can't wait to dive into the dynamic of Min with her family and being at her home. Stay tuned! - E
