Rae was proud of herself. She hadn't thought of Min since last night. She had been disciplined by not typing in her questions on the internet, not contacting her brother to talk more about Agust D, and resisting the small temptation to open up to Ji-Sun about it. She had withstood them all, and done a decent job staying focused with her first two patients of the day. But it all changed when she looked at her schedule which had Min Yoongi's name listed as her next visit.
Approaching the door to the apartment, Rae told herself she would have no expectations. What happened the night before could have been from sleep deprivation, it could have been side effects of the medication, or it could have been her imagination. Whatever it was, she had convinced herself it wasn't real, and that it didn't mean anything significant.
She would treat today like any ordinary day, with an ordinary patient, even though she knew Min was anything but ordinary. However, she couldn't admit that to herself, because what kind of a nurse would she be labeled as if she got involved with a patient? A scandalous one, and Rae was not synonymous with such a description.
Rae was predictable. Rae was a rule follower. Rae was safe. Rae was a goody two shoes, and Rae didn't intend to change her ways.
Rae straightened out her black scrubs and ruffled her hair, adding a bit of volume and life back to the curls she wore down before she rang the doorbell. It didn't take long for Min to open the door.
The top portion of Min's hair was pulled back from his face and tied into a tiny ponytail that curled at the top of his head. His sleek forehead was exposed, emphasizing his smooth, pale skin, and his lips almost looked glossed, their hue a rose pink. He was wearing a satin pair of button-up black pajamas. Holly peeked through his legs, getting a good look at Rae.
Rae bent down to greet him. "Good morning, Holly," she stood up to take in the dark angel standing in front of her. "Good morning," she said softly, bowing to him.
His eyes were set on hers, his facial expression stoic and stern as he bowed in return. "Good morning. You're here early," he said, motioning her to follow him in.
"My appointments went faster than usual. I can come back this afternoon if now is a bad time," Rae offered, watching Min make his way to the living room, the familiar scenery of last night immediately reminding her of her nerves.
He shook his head. "No, this is good. I was hoping my stitches could be taken out today, the sooner the better."
Rae nodded. "Sure, I can take a look and see if they're ready," she said as she set her supplies on the table. With her laptop in hand, she turned around and couldn't help but gasp in surprise at the sight she saw.
Min stood in the center of the living room, indifferently unbuttoning his silk shirt one-handed, and Rae immediately felt her face flush red. Hearing Rae's gasp, Min displayed a wide smirk, his eyes peeking up from his pajama top to look at her embarrassed face. His hand had stopped halfway through his progress, and Rae subconsciously felt her hand go to her eyes and turn away in a panic.
"Uwa," he said in a raspy voice. "I know I am no Jungkook but am I that horrible that you have to look away?"
Rae's felt her words catch in her throat as she immediately turned back around to face him, her hands-free from her eyes and daring herself to look at him. She was not trying to offend him, and she could sense his comment was a lighthearted joke, but she felt awful if her reaction had been misinterpreted. She was flustered, and surprised, and didn't want to be disrespectful by seeing something she shouldn't. But Min was the one who started stripping in the middle of the living room of his own free will, so she wasn't certain what he had expected her reaction to be.
