"Ahh! You're the best, Rae Bae!" Ji-Sun squealed from the front door.

Rae could hear Ji-Sun's footsteps as she charged to Rae's room, grandly opening the door and plopping herself on Rae's bed, interrupting Rae's reading time. She hugged tightly the bag of Orion Poco chips that Rae had snagged for her on her grocery run.

"I needed a pick me up after my day at work. You know me so well," Ji-Sun hummed, shamelessly opening the bag of chips to enjoy them on Rae's bed. Rae did her best not to turn up her nose at the potent smell.

Before Rae could even reply to her gratitude, Ji-Sun's eyes grew wide as she immediately spotted the shopping bags on Rae's desk.

"Is that my Christmas present?" she hurriedly asked between bites of chips.

Rae shook her head in disbelief. Ji-Sun was the queen of spoiling surprises.

"Even if it was, I wouldn't tell you, Christmas is a week away and it's supposed to be a surprise," Rae pointed out.

Ji-Sun laughed. "You never surprise me, Rae Bae. I know you got me some new cosmetics. You should gift it to me now because I would love some new makeup to have before all my Christmas parties!" she said, snatching up the bag off of Rae's desk and peeking inside at the contents.

"You have no shame," Rae huffed not wanting to protest, and sat up on her bed as she watched Ji-Sun open her Christmas gift a week early.

Her greedy hands were eager as she pulled out the new liquid blush.

"Ahh! I have been wanting to try this! Best Christmas gift ever!" she squealed, clapping her hands and giving Rae an enormous hug. "Thank you for letting my impatient self open it early," she winked at Rae.

"You didn't really give me a choice," Rae chuckled.

Ji-Sun gave a mischievous smirk and realized the bag wasn't entirely empty. She paused and peered in to then pull out the perfume Rae had purchased.

"Who is this for?" Ji-Sun asked, confused.

"For me," Rae replied, pulling the perfume bottle from Ji-Sun's grubby chip fingers.

Ji-Sun was still, which was a rare occurrence, and her eyes were studying Rae in complete suspicion. "Why did you buy yourself perfume?" Her eyes narrowed at Rae like laser beams, like she was scanning her up and down to reveal Rae's hidden secrets.

"What happened to saying that I don't ever surprise you?" Rae accused, placing the expensive perfume bottle on the top shelf above her desk.

Ji-Sun maintained a skeptical facial expression as she sat down on Rae's desk chair.

"Something is different about you, I can sense it," Ji-Sun claimed, her eyebrows furrowed. "I will figure it out."

"Go ahead, take a few guesses," Rae teased her.

Ji-Sun crossed her legs and leaned on her elbows, her stare searching for answers.

"You're not sick?" She asked.

Rae shook her head.

"You didn't secretly get another degree, did you?"

Rae laughed. "No, when would I have fit that into my schedule?"

Ji-Sun raised her arms in defense. "Your studying ability is uncanny, you could have finished another degree right under my nose and waited to tell me to be a show-off." Ji-Sun summarized her made-up scenario.

Rae rolled her eyes. "I'm not a dramatic person, Ji-Sun. You think that sounds like me?"

Ji-Sun shrugged before moving on to her next guess. "You aren't moving back to the U.S. are you?"
