Ji-Sun was sprawled out on the couch, eating popcorn and enjoying the newest episode of her latest k-drama.

"You're finally back," Ji-Sun said, her eyes still glued to the television. "I had a timer set to call the police if you weren't back by 9."

Rae peered at the clock on the microwave. 08:55. She had been gone for almost 3 hours?

"Well thank you for looking out for me," Rae said in a mocking tone.

Ji-Sun's face remained motionless as she watched her show, extending her arm up to give Rae a thumbs up. "You know I'm your ride or die, Rae Bae. Your chocolate is on the table."

Rae spotted her promised reward and took a seat on the floor next to Ji-Sun, catching the tail end of her show as she munched on the treat. When it was over, Ji-Sun groaned and let out a stretch, taking a seat next to Rae on the rug.

"Well, on a scale of 1-10, how weird was the situation with your patient? I have been dying to know what his deal was. Was I right? Was it alcohol? Or drugs?" Ji-Sun leaned over, taking a big bite out of the chocolate bar in Rae's hand.
No, it's a complex, moody, very attractive, candid idol. But she couldn't tell Ji-Sun that, so Rae didn't know how to reply to her question. Rae's thoughts were still a tornado in her head trying to be sorted.

The evening with Min had ended well. They enjoyed the steak, Rae checked his stitches, left him with his pain medication, and they parted ways, but Rae had a million questions after she left and had finally snapped out of trance-like state he had put her in.

She was still trying to understand what had happened tonight. Ji-Sun had been right about Rae's lack of experience with men, she wasn't an expert in reading them, and Min was a different level of complicated. The way Min had approached her, some of the things he said, the contrast of his personality from today compared to even three days ago, it was giving her whiplash.
What was even more confusing was realizing who Min was. He was Min Yoongi. Suga of BTS. Agust D. He was a world famous singer, rapper, song writer and producer. He was wanted and adored by literally millions of women throughout the planet. What made Rae special enough to catch his interest? Or what if it wasn't interest, what if he was playing her?

Maybe it was a habit of his as an idol, assuming all the girls would fall for his charms. Maybe him saying he was intrigued by her was meant only as a temporary intrigue. Maybe he said it to every woman whose heart skipped a beat at the sight of him. Maybe his persona of knowing everything came from experience - lots and lots of experience.

Maybe Min didn't find Rae special at all, but saw her as another target for his playboy lifestyle. Isn't that what idols were known for anyway?

Rae hated to admit that the thought of just being a temporary interest hurt her, but she knew it was most likely the case. He was stuck inside his apartment, and she was one of the few people allowed to see him as he healed. He was probably missing the excitement and attention, and she just happened to be the one person he could tease.

She didn't know much of the idol side of him, she hadn't been a fan, and only learned about him a few days ago. She hadn't even researched much information about him, or his past relationships, and she was certain after digging deeper, that she would discover parts of him that weren't what she expected, and maybe parts of him she wouldn't like.

Part of her hadn't researched into him too much, because she wanted to develop an opinion of him that was free of bias, but she couldn't deny the curiosity she had to dive into the internet that likely had information and answers that she wouldn't ever get the chance to explore. The debate of whether or not to go down a Min Yoongi rabbit hole was still eating away at her.

Both possibilities scared her. The possibility of what she hoped he would be, and the possibility of who he actually was. She wanted them to be the same, but she knew the likelihood of it was unrealistic.

Ji-Sun snapped her fingers in front of Rae's face.

"Yoo-hoo! Earth to Rae! What are you thinking about that has you so zoned out?"

Rae shook her head. "Nothing, I'm just tired."

"No, no, that's your contemplation face. I know it well. You're overthinking something right now, and my gut says it has something to do with your patient. Did he offend you?"

Rae cursed in her head. She hated that Ji-Sun knew her so well sometimes.

"No...well maybe at first, but not anymore. He just confuses me, and you know I hate being confused."

Ji-Sun's eyebrows shot up in concern. "Whoa," was all she said.

"Whoa, what?"

Ji-Sun's eyes went wide and her lips sealed tightly together like she was trying to keep herself from bursting, but in the end, she couldn't. "You're totally into the psycho patient!" she squealed, hitting Rae's arms excitedly.

"He's not psycho!" Rae defended, grabbing Ji-Sun's flailing hands.

"Oh. My. Gosh. You're totally into him!" she squealed again. "Gosh, now it all makes sense why he only wanted to see you. You totally have a fling going on with a patient! So what was with today? Were you trying to play hard to get by not seeing him today? Rae Clark, who are you right now!?" Ji-Sun looked into Rae's eyes, acting like she was in complete disbelief. "This is the biggest deal since COVID."

Rae rolled her eyes. "Will you stop being so dramatic?"

"I will not down play the magnitude of this, Rae Bae. For you to fall for someone for the first time in years, he must be a knock out. He's hot, isn't he? Why are the crazy ones always hot..." Ji-Sun's voice trailed off.

Rae shoved her friends shoulder. "Will you stop it. I am not having a fling, I am not into him, I am not playing hard to get, and he's not crazy."

"But he is hot?"

Rae let out a long sigh. There was no winning in this type of conversation with Ji-Sun. It was almost always better to let her think what she wanted to think then to dig herself into a deeper hole. Rae decided it was time to bail.

"Alright, Ji-Sun, I am going to sleep now."

Ji-Sun hung onto Rae's arm, trying to pull her back down to her side.

"Wait, no, please! I need all the juicy details! That is what I am here for, Rae! As your best friend it is my duty to help you navigate this. Let me help! I have dreamed of this day since forever," she pleaded on her hands and knees.

"It's not happening, Ji-Sun. Nothing is going on between us. It is strictly professional."

"Fine, lie to yourself all you want. I'll be here when you're ready to wake up to reality." Ji-Sun gave Rae a tight hug before heading into her room, and Rae's anxiety settled down just in time for her to fall asleep and dream of Min Yoongi.
