The first three schools that Kara and Lena had an interviews with was nice, however not exactly what they were looking for. Now at the last school Kara and Lena hoped this would be the better of the schools. "Tell me about your daughter, what is she interested in?" The principal asked. "She's your typical five year old. She likes everything from coloring, to playing outside with her friends. Alura is a very gifted child. She's had private tutoring since she could talk properly, and as you can see she went to a well known school for the academically gifted in Ireland. So instead of asking us what our daughter lies to do, how about you tell us what your school has to offer her." Kara stated. The teacher quite taken aback by the blonde's statement.
"Our school can offer Alura a wide variety of opportunities to grow and thrive as a student. However we only offer four languages in her grade. Spanish, French, German and Italian. We also have a top of the line physical education program that includes swimming, rowing, gymnastics and equestrian sports. We also have a farm to lunch room program so everything the children eat here is locally grown." The principal explained. "Can we tour the buildings while we continue this conversation? I'd like to see where our daughter will be if we decide on this school." Lena said. "Of course! Follow me." The principal said as she walked towards the front doors of the building.
"This is the main school building where most of the academics will take place. Each classroom has one teacher, and one assistant." The principal explained. "And where is the class room where our daughter will be? And is it possible to speak to the teacher?" Kara asked. "Of course Mrs. Luthor-Danvers. Miss Hughes is one of our top teachers here. I think you will like her." The principal stated. Kara and Lena followed the principal down the long hallway. They soon stopped at a brightly colored door. "This is Miss Hughes classroom. She teaches kindergartners. Miss Hughes, I have a Mrs. And Mrs. Luthor-Danvers here. They'd like a moment of your time to talk to you about your teaching experience." The principal explained. "Of course Mr. Jackson, please come in." Miss Hughes greeted.
"Pleasure to meet you Miss Hughes, I'm Kara and this is my wife Lena. Now, tell us about your experience with gifted students." Kara said. "Oh well, I have six years experience teaching gifted students in this school alone and four years experience while I was in college." Miss Hughes explained. "And are you the language teacher too?" Lena asked. "Oh no. That would be Mr. Peters. He is in the room just across the hall. He teaches languages to all our students in grade kindergarten through fifth grade. Those classes are two days a week for the kindergarten students." Miss Hughes explained.
"I see. How many teachers are there for the kindergarten students?" Kara asked. "There are four all together. The main one, the language teacher, the physical education teacher, and the equestrian instructor." The principal explained. "I see. Well I believe that we should see the rest of these teachers before we make a final decision." Kara said. "Of course." The principal said. "It was nice meeting you Mrs. And Mrs Luthor-Danvers. I look forward to hearing your decision." Miss Hughes said with a smile.
After getting introduced to all the teachers for kindergarten Lena and Kara took their leave. "Let's go get some food before going home. We have much to discuss." Kara said with a smile. "I agree." Lena replied. Once they arrived at the restaurant they were quickly seated and ordered beverages. "So? What do you think?" Lena asked as she sipped her lemonade. "I like this school best. The teachers are well educated, and knowledgeable of different subjects. And out of all of them this school has the best food program we've seen since Ireland. I think Alura will flourish there." Kara replied. "I agree. She'll do wonders there." Lena replied as their food arrived.
