"I think that you might just have some competition for my sister's hand." Aragorn chuckled, as he watched the hobbits, Merry and Pippin in particular, walking with (Y/n). The four halflings bombarding her with all manner of questions, about not only herself; but also, Strider and Legolas too.
Legolas was not surprised that the little ones had taken an instant liking to (Y/n). She had a way about her, a way of enchanting those around her. And despite Gimli's previous night's interaction with her, it was obvious from the way that he closely trailed behind her and the hobbits, that he too had fallen under her spell. Legolas finding himself smiling as the dwarf did his best to interject as often as he possibly could into the female Ranger's and hobbit's conversation; telling her about Erebor and Moria, that he hoped she would get to see them, and experience the hospitality of his kin. The dwarf continuing that it was far better than anything you would find in an elvish realm. Yet the looks from the man of Gondor, were certainly not making him smile.
"You have nothing to fear, Legolas; my sister only has eyes for you. No matter what Boromir may say or do, nothing will turn her heart from you." The male Ranger assured, placing his hand on his old friend's shoulder. The elf prince of Mirkwood slowly nodding.
He knew, that just like Aragorn and Arwen, he and (Y/n) shared a connection that would last, for as long as he was alive. That even though one day, he was aware that she would pass, just like her brother, his love for her would not. She was his, and he was hers. His body and soul belonged to her, and there was no one else for him; there never would be. And if they both survived this, he would spend every day of whatever time they had left together, proving that to her. (Y/n) the only reason that he had ever wished that he was not immortal; that just like Arwen, he could choose a mortal life. Yet he knew that (Y/n) would have him no other way; that she knew what giving her heart to him meant. And still, she loved him.
"Though it would appear that Merry and Pippin are doing their best to try......" Legolas shaking the thoughts from his mind, at the sound of the Dúnedain's chuckle. The elven prince looking up to see that the two hobbits in question, had pulled (Y/n) to the front of the group away from the others; the cousins now regaling her with their escapades, and how they, Frodo and Sam, had come to be there. Their interruption at the end of Lord Elrond's council meeting, seeming to cause (Y/n) the most amusement.

Gandalf stayed back from the others, watching as (Y/n) and the hobbits interacted. Once the introductions and pledges had been made the night before; once she had been able to spend some time with Legolas, the Istar had made his way over to greet her; (Y/n) just as happy to see the old wizard as she had been her brother and the ellon that she loved. Yet other than that, Gandalf had been strangely quiet towards her; it not that he did not wish to converse with the female Ranger after so long, no; he considered her to be a dear child and was glad to once more be in her company. It more that he knew some of what was to come. That eventually the only other surviving heir of Isildur would be sent on her own quest; a quest that would take her away from friends, old and new, and from those she loved most dearly. The old wizard only hoping that by the end, they would see her returned to them. So, for now, he would allow Aragorn and Legolas to enjoy these moments with her; he would allow her to spend time with the sibling and ellon who loved her. Gandalf knowing that when the time came, the split would not be easy for any of them; that it would anger Aragorn and Legolas who both wanted nothing more than to protect her, even though they knew that she did not need protecting. Her unusual skills and abilities taking her away from the path that both the male Dúnedain and Mirkwood prince, would tread. So, he would let them have their peace for now. He would smile as they enjoyed their time together; as the hobbit came to know someone that would be just as important to the successful completion of journey, as any other.

Merry and Pippin cheered as Aragorn announced that he believed that it was time to make camp for the night. Sam unpacking his pots and pans from Bill's packs, as Gimli and Boromir scouted around for the best firewood. The cousins pulling (Y/n) over to the nice piece of ground, they had found.
"(Y/n), what's that........?" Pippin asked, as she took a seat on the thankfully rock free grass. The son of Paladin Took and Eglantine Banks, gesturing to the harsh looking scare that he could see on the top part of her chest, as she bent down. The Ranger quickly covering it.
"Pippin, don't ask questions you shouldn't." Merry scolded, as he took a seat next to her, despite the fact that he had to admit that he too would like to know what could have caused such and ugly scar on one so beautiful. (Y/n) looking to her brother; Aragorn reply with a simple shrug. The two siblings never having to really speak to know what the other was thinking.
"It is alright, Merry. The scar.......well, it came from a morgul blade........"
"The one like Frodo.............."
"Yes, I am afraid so..........." (Y/n) interrupted. A soft sigh leaving her lips as Pippin sat by her other side and he and Merry took her hands. Frodo coming to join them and smiling softly at her. The Ranger knowing that she would have to explain everything, now.
"When Aragorn and I were young, we were taken to live in Rivendell with Lord Elrond. I was always a little, well........."
"Wild............" Aragorn called out. Chuckling as his sister shook her head.
"Adventurous.......and one day, I managed to roam beyond the safe borders of Rivendell, without anyone knowing. I wanted to see the world, to know what lay beyond the safety of Lord Elrond's realm. But what I found that day was no adventure, what I came across was a creature darker than any I had seen. A creature that I will never forget. As much as I tried to defend myself, a small girl was no match for that odious being, and he pierced me, near through the heart with his blade. I do not know how I came to find myself back in Rivendell, Aragorn may be able to tell you better; but all I do know is that if it were not for the fact that Gandalf as well as Lord Elrond had been there to help me, I would have been a wraith. Though no matter their skills in healing me, the blade left me with more than just a scare, it left me with the ability to sense the Witch-king and the Nazgûl, to see and sense the world as they do; to do some of the things that they can..............." (Y/n) explained, noticing that poor Frodo had his hand gripped tightly around the ring. It obvious that anyone that had not known her story, had become a little concerned with the information.
"But I swear that I have no desire for the Ring. In fact, I have spent most of my life doing all I could to eradicate the creatures of darkness from this world. And I will continue to do so. I just hope that now you know, you will allow me to remain with you.........to remain with all of you......" The female Ranger added. Frodo looking between her, Aragorn, Legolas and Gandalf. Looking to Merry, Pippin and then Sam; the hobbit ignoring the grumblings of Gimli and Boromir, as he slowly let go of the Ring and smiled at her again.
"I would like you to stay.............."
