(Y/n) had been relieved to find Frodo. The hobbit not appearing completely himself, the princes putting it down to him perhaps being a little tired. But as he took her hand and led her to the balcony, he still seemed to be the same sweet Frodo that she knew; though something told her not to ask about what Bilbo had spoken of; of a ring and her looking after Frodo. The princess instead, gripping at the dark-haired hobbit's hand, while he told her about what had happened on the way to Rivendell, as they camped for the night at Amon Sûl; how he and his fellow hobbits had been attacked by Nazgûl. He stuck by a Morgul blade, only to be saved by a Ranger that she had heard her uncle Legolas mention before; a mysterious man that went by the name of Strider. Frodo doing his best to assure her that Lord Elrond had been able to save him; that he was fine, and just happy to see her again. The two beginning one of their usual conversations; that unbeknownst to the other, had eased their minds of the concerns that hung over them. Of how being so far from their homes, might change their lives.
During her time with Frodo, three other hobbits had entered the room. Well, she would say entered, but what she actually meant, was that they had burst into the room; one with a tall vase in his hands, seemingly intending to use it as some kind of a weapon. Frodo shaking his head, before introducing the trio as cousins Merry Brandybuck and Pippin Took, and then Samwise Gamgee, who Frodo said was his gardener. The slightly larger hobbit eyeing her suspiciously, until Frodo explained who his visitor was, and telling him to drop the vase. And since that moment she seemed to have become quite an object of fascination; especially for Pippin, whom, from what she knew of Tooks, was definitely every inch, one. The trio taking to asking her all about her family and the Company. Asking if she really was the daughter of Thorin Oakenshield; if she really was a princess, before telling her that on the way to Rivendell, they had seen the stone trolls that had tried to cook her father's Company. Then going on to ask whether Bilbo's stories were also right about her being the granddaughter of the elvenking of Mirkwood; before the question had turned to what it was like to be half dwarf and half elf, given that dwarves and elves were known too not particularly like one another. (Y/n) only able to say that that was true; but that the birth of Throndir and herself, had brought the two races to point where they could mostly coexist, once more. Though that did not mean that her father had stopped reminding her grandfather that he had imprisoned them, and his own daughter in the Mirkwood dungeons, as they tried to pass through his realm; nor that Thranduil would not reply that at least he had not tried to kill the elleth that he claimed to love, while taken by dragon sickness.
"I really should be going........" (Y/n) said, as she looked out over Imladris and realised that the sun had begun to set; and that even though she, Glóin and Gimli had arrived that morning, she was still dressed in her travelling clothes, and was yet to wash and change so that she could attend the evening meal. It not done that she should appear in such a fashion, before Lord Elrond. The peredhel having been good to her and her brother over the years. (Y/n) sometimes believing that he understood Throndir and her, better than any other, given that he too had been born of two worlds.
"You will be at dinner tonight, won't you........?" Merry asked, as he and Pippin got to their feet.
"Of course, it will be expected. And that is why I have to go. I need to find my uncle Glóin and his son Gimli, afore I can bathe and change......" (Y/n) explained, before she leant over and places a kiss to Frodo's cheek.
"Can I sit next to you..........?" The cousins then ask in unison. The two looking at one another, before turning their attention to the giggling princess. The pair smiling broadly back at her.
"Well, I should imagine that Lord Elrond will have me sitting between my uncle Legolas and Glóin and Gimli, just in case. Dwarves can get quite boisterous and outspoken when they have a little ale in them. And I still don't think that Glóin has completely forgiven Legolas for capturing the Company in Mirkwood forest. Nor for having described his son as a goblin mutant.........But, if not, then you can both sit next to me. I promise........" (Y/n) explained, before kissing Merry and Pippin on the cheek too, then nodding to Sam, who just smiled at her.
"We could always walk you back to your uncle, if you like. Wouldn't want anything happening to such a pretty lady between here and there. You never know what might be lurking around the corner." Pippin continued. Merry nodding in agreement, as they followed (Y/n) to the door.
"That is very nice of you both, and I am sure that if I needed to be protected, there would be no one better to do so, than you two. I am well aware of how brave hobbits can be. But, and as I am sure Frodo will tell you, I am more than capable of looking after myself. That, and given that many who are here, I see as part of my family, I doubt that I need fear anything that might be lurking." (Y/n) replied, kissing the cousins again, before turning her attention back to Frodo.
"I will see you at the meal..........." The dark-haired hobbit simply nodding; before (Y/n) slipped out of the room and made her way to find her dwarven kin.
