As quickly as he could, Bilbo caught up with his sister. He knew that perhaps he should give her a little more time to calm down; it the first time, despite the fact that she could get angry, he had ever seen her like that. Even when she had shouted at Thorin in Bag End, it had been nothing to what he had just witnessed. Yet if there was anyone that he wanted to spend this moment with, it was his sister. He and (Y/n) always having talked about meeting elves. About travelling to the realms of the immortals.
"(Y/n)..........?" He said quietly, as his sister stopped at a bridge that spanned a river some distance below.
"Are you..........?"
"I don't know, Bilbo. I don't know if I'm alright. I know you might think that I have lost my mind.......I think I have lost my mind; but something is happening to me. I have been having dreams, visions; of people and places that I have never been and do not know. Yet I do know them, deep in my heart, I know I know them. And what is even stranger.........I know of this place too......"
"But (Y/n), we have never........."
"I know...........I know we have never been here before." (Y/n) interrupted, as she turned to look at her brother.
"Yet something..........something is telling me that a part of me belongs here. Its calling out my name, Bilbo, and I don't know what to do........." She confessed. (Y/n) shaking her head as she tried to settle her emotions, the confusion that she felt. The dwarrowdam, between her visions, her anger and annoyance at Thorin, and now this pull toward an elven realm; coming to believe that she was losing her mind. The moment between the brother and sister lost though, as the dwarves came to join them. Thorin just ignoring her and Gandalf placing his hand on her shoulder for a moment, before he, (Y/n) and Bilbo, joined the others as they crossed the bridge. Their grip on each other's hands only getting tighter, as they reached the other side, passing the pair of stone guardians, before coming to a halt in front of a long staircase. Each sure that with every step they took, Rivendell became more beautiful. The dwarrowdam just shaking her head, as she saw Thorin and Dwalin, mutter to one another.
"Mithrandir..........." A voice suddenly came. (Y/n) turning to see a male elf making his way down the staircase. The dwarrowdam having to admit that he was quite handsome.
"Ah, Lindir......." Gandalf replied, as he too turned. (Y/n) and Bilbo looking at one another, as the elf began to speak to the wizard in a language that neither could understand.
"I must speak with Lord Elrond........." The wizard explained in turn. (Y/n) feeling glad that at least one of the Company could understand what the elf had said.
"My Lord Elrond is not here." Lindir continued, his eyes moving over Gandalf's shoulder and coming to rest on her. (Y/n) feeling her cheeks become warm under his gaze.
"Not here......? Where is he.........?" Gandalf enquired, calling back the elf's attention. The sound of a horn suddenly filling the air. All of them turning to see horses and their riders making their way across the bridge, at speed, to where they stood.
"Close ranks......" (Y/n) heard Thorin shout out above the clatter of hoof falls. The dwarrowdam and Bilbo finding themselves pushed into the middle, as the dwarves surrounded them. (Y/n) doing her best to shield Bilbo, as the elves on horseback rode around them. And then.........then they stopped. Her eyes focusing on a dark-haired elf, as he addressed Gandalf. (Y/n) sure that if she had thought that the one called Lindir was handsome, then this one had a beauty that could only be rivelled by the realm around them.
"Lord Elrond......" The wizard replied cheerily. The two continuing to speak in elvish, as the Company eyed them suspiciously. (Y/n) finding herself wishing that she knew what Gandalf and the elf lord were saying. The dwarves only seeming to become more agitated as the lord dismounted and embraced the wizard.
"Strange for orcs to come so close to our borders.........Something.....or someone, must have drawn them near............"
"Ah. That may have been us." Gandalf explained, as he turned to look at his travelling companions. Her cheeks once more beginning to glow, as the lord caught her eye and smiled warmly. His attention though soon turning to Thorin, as he moved to the front of the group.
"Welcome Thorin. Son of Thráin." Elrond greeted the prince.
"I do not believe that we have met." Thorin curtly retorted. (Y/n) wishing she could go up and slap him around the back of the head for sounding so rude.
"You have your grandfather's bearing. I knew Thrór when he ruled under the Mountain............"
"Indeed, he made no mention of you.........." Another curt response. Elrond seeming to fight back a smile, when he heard the growl that left her lips, without (Y/n) meaning it to. The elf lord still looking at Thorin, as more elvish was spoken. The dwarrowdam sure that it must be the most wonderful language that she had ever heard.
"What is he saying..........? Does he offer us insult........?" Glóin demanded to know. (Y/n) rolling her eyes, having to wonder which of the dwarves was currently in the possession of the Company's lonely braincell.
"No, Master Glóin. He is offering you food.........." Gandalf told him. The dwarves all huddling together and muttering to one another.
"Aye, well. In that case, lead on........." Glóin said. (Y/n) letting out a sigh of relief; thankful that she and Bilbo were not going to find themselves in a pitch battle between dwarves and elves. The dwarrowdam about to follow after her brother and the other, until she felt a hand being place gently on her shoulder.
"Not you my dear........" (Y/n) looking up to see Gandalf and the elf lord gazing down at her.
"I believe that you and Lord Elrond should speak............"
