"Listen. Will you just listen. I am trying to tell you that there is something else out there." Bilbo said, frustrated at the fact that the dwarves never seemed to be quiet for more than two seconds when he was trying to say something.
"What form, did they take.........?"
"They........?" Thorin interrupted, looking between the wizard and hobbit. Gandalf completely ignoring him, as he focused on Bilbo.
"Were they like bears...........?"
"Yeah.......yeah, yes.......but bigger, much bigger. One huge and black, and the other smaller and white." Bilbo replied, as he looked up at Gandalf. Not sure how the wizard knew about what he had seen.
"You knew about these beasts?" Bofur interrupted. The wizard turning to look out over the scene before them. Gandalf knowing that they only had one option.
"I say we double back........"
"And be run down by a pack of orcs.......?" The rest of the Company muttering and mumbling at Thorin's words.
"There is a house, not far from here." Gandalf said, as he turned back to look at the others.
"Where we might take refuge..........."
"Whose house? Are they friend or foe?" Thorin enquired. It obvious from his tone that he was not keen on the wizard's latest idea.
"Neither. They will help us, or they will kill us." Gandalf replied. The wizard hoping that the two bears and the people they would become, would be the lesser of two evils.
"What choice do we have......?"
"None." Gandalf simply said, as the sound of roars filled the air.

Run, that was all they could do, through stream and across the vast open expanse of grass. The Company being chased not only by Azog and his soldiers; but by the beasts that Bilbo had seen. Their only choice, to make it to the house that the wizard had spoken of and hope that the owners chose not to kill them. Gandalf leading the dwarves and their hobbit burglar through the trees, doing his best to keep them all one step ahead of the orcs and the bears. The sounds of the beasts filling the air once more, as they all pushed themselves further and faster.
"This way, quickly." Gandalf called out. The sounds of the huge animals not far behind. A house suddenly appearing, and the wizard telling them to run for it. The dwarves looking on in disbelief, as Bombur came out of nowhere, and raced passed them all. The large dwarf the first to make it to the door to the home. Bouncing off it as he ran into it. Two great bears suddenly emerging from the tree line and running at speed towards the house, as the dwarves desperately tried to open the door. Thorin moving forward and pushing up the latch, the Company quickly making their way inside; doing their best to close the huge ingress as the snouts of the two bears, as they snapped at them. A smile coming to Gandalf's lips, as he saw the pair, before the dwarves finally managed to shut the large wooden doors.
"What are those?" Ori asked, as he looked to Gandalf.
"They are our hosts. The huge black bear is named Beorn. The smaller white one is his daughter, (Y/n); and they are skin changers." The wizard explained to the Company.
"Sometimes they are huge black and white bears, sometimes Beorn is a great strong man, and (Y/n) a rather beautiful looking woman, from what I have been told. The bears are unpredictable; but in their other forms, they can be reasoned with." Gandalf continued, as he made his way further into the large home.
"However, they are not overly fond of dwarves............"
"They're leaving." Ori said, as the sounds of the beasts grew less.
"Come away from there........" Dori chastised, as he pulled his younger brother away from the door.
"Its not natural, none of it. Its obvious, they are under some dark spell......."
"Don't be a fool. They are under no enchantment, but their own." Gandalf scoffed, before turning and taking off his hat.
"Right, now, get some sleep. You'll be safe here tonight.........I hope......."
>>-----------------------------------<<
"I say we leg it and run out the back way." Nori said, as the sounds of splintering wood filled the air.
"I'm not running from anyone." Dwalin growled as his gripped onto Nori's coat.
"Beast or no................."
"There is no point in arguing. We cannot pass through the Wilderland without Beorn and (Y/n)'s help. We will be hunted down, before we even get to the forest. Bilbo........" Gandalf said, before turning to the hobbit.
"This will require some delicate handling. We must tread very carefully. The last person who startled them, was torn to shreds." Thorin and Kili looking over the top of Bilbo's head at one another at the remark.
"I will go first, and Bilbo.....you come with me." Thorin gesturing for him to move, before the hobbit reluctantly stepped forward.
"Is.....is this a good idea.........?"
"Yes. Now the rest of you just stay here, and don't come out, until I give the signal......."
"Right, wait for the signal." Bofur agreed, as he looked out of the window, to the huge man and smaller female outside the cottage. The man still chopping wood, while the female collected it in a basket.
"And no sudden moves, or loud noises. And don't over crowd them. Only come out in pairs." Gandalf continued, before he turned to leave.
"Oh, actually Bombur........." The large dwarf chomping on a carrot.
"You count as two, so you should come out alone." The wizard pointed out. Bombur thinking for a second, before nodding in agreement.
"Remember, wait for the signal." Gandalf placing his hand on Bilbo's shoulder, before leading him out of the house.
"What signal would that be..........?" Bofur asked as it was too late. The dwarves only left to wonder, as the wizard and hobbit made their way further into the sunlight.
>>------------------------------<<
Gandalf brushed his fingers over his hair, as he and Bilbo took careful steps towards the pair. Beorn picking up more wood and placing it on the stump to cut, as his daughter let her fingers tickle behind the ears of a goat that sat nearby.
"You're nervous......." Bilbo said, as Gandalf coughed uncomfortably.
"Nervous........?" Another piece of wood being chopped in two, by the skin changer's large axe.
"Nonsense........" Gandalf retorted. The wizard knowing that Bilbo was right, but not about to admit it.
"Morning." The wizard called out cheerily. Doing his best to smile. Neither of the skin changers saying a word, as they continued with their normal routine.
"Morning........" Gandalf called out again. This time catching the father and daughter's attention.
"Who are you.......?" Beorn growled. Bilbo about to take a step back; in fact, he was about to run back into the house, until the skin changer's daughter turned around. His eyes growing wide, as he saw her face, and the locks of long white hair, that fell from under the simple hood that covered his head. The hobbit not sure what to think, as she moved to her father's side. Bilbo sure that he had never seen her like, in his life.
