Kili continued to glare, as his brother made his way further into the shoppe; a broad smile spreading across Fili's lips, as he looked between his younger sibling and the rather beautiful young woman that had come to greet him.

"Good morning, sir." (Y/n) said graciously, as she curtsied to the blonde-haired dwarf. Fili puffing out his chest and raising himself to his full height; the older prince's smile growing and growing, as the annoyance in his brother's eyes also grew.

"If you are here to enquire about a bow being made, I am afraid that my father is with Master Bard at the moment. Though I am sure that if you come back in a little while he will be able to assist you. Or if you wish for one to be carved and have illustrations with you, you could leave them with me, and we could talk about them after I have finished with Master Kili." (Y/n) continued, as she gestured towards a rather disgruntled appearing Kili.

"Fili, what are you doing here........?" The dark prince enquired sharply, as she finished speaking. The bowmaker's daughter looking between the two dwarves, as Kili moved to stand in front of the new customer. A little taken aback by the interaction.

"What, am I not allowed to come and look at these beautiful, in fact quite exquisite bows.........? That is rather selfish of you brother......." Fili replied. His eyes not leaving (Y/n) as he used the words beautiful and exquisite. Kili grabbing his brother's arm before pulling him into the corner of the shoppe, and continuing the conversation......well, argument.

(Y/n) watched as the two dwarves squabbled. A little part of her chuckling to herself as the duo seemed to remind her of children, despite them being grown dwarves. Brother.......? The blonde dwarf had called Kili, brother; the young woman not sure whether that was just how dwarves called one another, or whether the pair were brothers by blood. The two appearing very different, yet there was still something; something in the eyes and the smile that she could see had similarities. But then, something else hit her. Something that was far more important than the question as to whether they had the same blood or not. Kili had called his brother, Fili. (Y/n)'s mind going to the stories that she had heard of the dwarf king's Company, of their time in Lake-town and of the ensuing battle that came after the reclaiming of the Mountain from the dragon. Two names entering her thoughts. Two names that were so closely connected to the king. Kili and Fili turning to look at her, as she let out a shocked gasp.

"(Y/n)..............?"

"I.....oh goodness. I......I didn't know. Please, please forgive me, prince Kili, prince Fili.........." The young woman spluttered, as she looked at the two males before curtsying deeply. An embarrassed blush coming to her cheeks, as the pair took a step closer to her.

"(Y/n)........it..........."

"What......what I told you earlier, about what my great grandfather said, and about your own grandfather, I meant nothing by it. Had I realised that you were.......oh.......I swear that I would never have said a word. I meant no disrespect at all, to you, your family, or to dwarves........" (Y/n) continued to babble. Kili glaring at his older brother before stepping forward and taking her hand, as he saw tears prick at the corners of her eyes.

"You said nothing wrong............."

"But I did. I told you it was the king that had banished Brifan. That my family left Dale because Thrór would not allow his marriage. And then......oh dear, I spoke about my name being written into the dwarven histories. Please don't tell the king about what I said. My father has a fine reputation, and I would not have that ruined because I am so foolish. He has worked too long and too hard for what little we have; and if King Thorin knew..........Oh.........." (Y/n) interrupted. The tears now making her way down her cheeks. The young woman quickly pulling her hand from Kili's, before making her way back into her workshop; locking the door behind her.

"(Y/n)........(Y/n) please, it's alright. You didn't do anything wrong; you said nothing wrong. If I am to tell my uncle anything, it will be that your work is wonderful.........." Kili called through the door. His shoulders slumping as all he could hear in reply, were her sobs. This not how he had wanted the trip to the shoppe to go.

"I will come back tomorrow, (Y/n). I hope you will talk to me. And please don't worry, your father's business is safe....." The dark-haired prince continued, placing his hand on the workshop door for a moment, before he made his way to the door of the shoppe and left without saying a word to his brother. Fili looking to the where the beautiful girl had disappeared to, before quickly going to catch up with Kili.

                                                      >>----------------------------------<<

"Kili............." The younger prince finally stopping, after his brother had called out his name for the tenth time.

"What did you do that for...........?" Kili demanded to know. It obvious that he really was angry.

"I didn't mean anything by it. I just.........."

"You just wanted to ruin my life. I meet the most perfect girl in the whole of Middle-Earth, and what's more, she just happens to be the great granddaughter of the famed Brifan the bowman; but you have to come along and spoil everything. I would have told her who I was when I had had the chance to get to know her better. I got those drawing from Ori, so that she could craft a bow, just for me; and when she had, I was going to show you and uncle and see if I could persuade you both to commission one too. Yet now I will be lucky if she even wants to speak to me again, never mind anything else; given she has got it into her head that because I am a prince, I will tell uncle about what her great grandfather said. That Thorin will somehow ruin her father's business, because Brifan proclaimed that she would aid the dwarves of the Mountain. Now, if you will excuse me, I want to be alone............" Kili replied angrily, before turning and leaving a shocked Fili, who was sure that he had never seen or heard his brother so angry before, all alone in the middle of Dale.
