"I am Gandalf. Gandalf the Grey." Gandalf introduced, bowing slightly. Beorn turning and lowering his axe in front of him, before pulling his daughter behind him. The smaller women, who was still as tall as Gandalf, peering around her father, as the visitors looked at them.

"Never heard of him." Beorn replied. His voice deep and rumbling. Menacing, as far as Bilbo was concerned. Yet the look of his daughter was still keeping the hobbit behind the wizards back. Bilbo occasionally looking around Gandalf to get a better glimpse of her.

It was hard for Bilbo to believe that this Beorn and (Y/n) were father and daughter. Beorn was........well, scary; he was huge, and his hair and eyebrows were wild; the hobbit able to believe that he had been the bear from the night before. Yet his daughter, his daughter appeared to be even more beautiful than the elves of Rivendell. Though why such a young-looking female would have hair that was pale as Balin's, he didn't know; not that it diminished her looks any, in fact, it actually accentuated them.

"I'm a wizard." Gandalf replied, still appearing rather uncomfortable.

"Perhaps you've heard of my colleague, Radagast the Brown. He resides in the southern borders of Mirkwood..........."

"What do you want..........?" Beorn interrupted. It obvious that the charms of the wizard were not working on him.

"Father, please. Let this.......wizard, speak........." (Y/n) suddenly said, as she placed her hand on her father's arm and moved more to his side. The large man looking down at his child and nodding reluctantly.

"Speak.......Gandalf........."

"Thank you, my lady. Well, I would simply like to thank you for your hospitality. You may have noticed we took refuge in your lodgings here last night." The wizard told them, gesturing to the cottage behind him. His movement revealing a very hesitant looking Bilbo. Beorn once more pushing his daughter behind him, as he saw the new face.

"Who is this little fellow........?" Beorn demanded to know. Bilbo reluctantly moving to Gandalf's side. The hobbit smiling slightly, as he saw the skin changers daughter look around her father's arm at him.

"Ah, well, this would be Mister Baggins; from the Shire." Gandalf introduced. Beorn suddenly picking up his axe.

"He's not a dwarf is he...........?"

"Father, dwarves don't come from the Shire. Hobbits come from the Shire. The little man is a halfling." (Y/n) said quietly, as she looked down at Bilbo.

"You are quite correct my dear lady. Mister Baggins......Bilbo, is indeed a hobbit. He is from a good family, with an unimpeachable reputation." Gandalf smiling at the pale haired female. It obvious that if anyone was going to stop the big man from using that axe on them, then it would be his daughter. Though whether this seemingly good will would extend to the rest of the Company........

"A halfling and a wizard, how come you here...?"

"Oh, well, the fact is that we've had a bad time of it, from goblins in the mountains..........."

"Goblins.......what did ya go near goblins for? Stupid thing to do. Foul creatures they are, wicked and cruel. Their kind and those like them, like nothing more than hurting others, destroying things that are beautiful. Anything that has a good heart." (Y/n) scoffed. Her sudden mood change proving that she appreciated the creatures that lived in the Misty Mountains, no more than they did.

"You are absolutely right...." Gandalf agreed. Beorn suddenly raising his axe as he saw movement behind the odd pair. Bilbo turning to see that Dwalin and Balin had come out from the cottage. The huge skin changer growling, as he looked at the newcomers. Once more pushing his daughter back, so that he could protect her.

"Dwalin, and Balin.........." Dwalin introduced, as he and his older brother got to the bottom of the few steps that lead to the door.

"And I...I...I must confess that several of our group, are in fact........dwarves." Gandalf explained. Bilbo sure that the wizard looked more nervous now, than he had done before.

"Do you call two, several.........?"

"Well, er......now you put it that way......." Gandalf stuttering and stammering.

"Yes, there could be more than two......." The wizard staring to count on his fingers, only to roll his eyes when he heard the sound of more dwarves come from behind him.

"Ah, and here are some more of our happy troupe." Glóin and Óin bowing to the large man. Muttering something to one another, and then to Dwalin and Balin, as they saw the woman behind him.

"Do you call six, a troupe? What are you.......a travelling circus......?" Beorn asked. It obvious that the sight of dwarves was not pleasing him. Gandalf only able to nervously chuckle at the remark. Beorn growling, as Dori and Ori came outside, and Dori introduced them both. The older Ri, stating that they were at the skin changers, service.

"I don't want your service........."

"Absolutely understandable." Gandalf agreed, as Fili and Kili appeared.

"Oh, Fili and Kili, I had quite forgotten......." The wizard, doing his best to keep the smile on his face. Wishing that the dwarves behind him would stop muttering and looking at the female that appeared to be far more amused by the dwarves than her father did. His brows furrowing slightly, as he saw her smile getting a little brighter, as the two princes joined the others. Gandalf looking to see Fili winking at her.

"Oh, yes, and Nori, Bofur, Bifur and Bombur........" The other dwarves nearly falling over themselves and one another, as they came tumbling down the stairs.

"Is that it....?" Beorn enquired, as he looked at the assembled dwarves. Drawing himself to his full height, in order to conceal his daughter from all the prying eyes of the little men.

"Are there any more........?" Thorin slowly appearing at the doorway, at the skin changers question. The son of Thráin looking at the large man, before turning his gaze to the beautiful woman behind him.
