(Y/n) quickly made her way down to the river. As much as she had wanted to stay with Haldir by the fire; as much as she had wanted to place her hands on his skin, to give in to the urge to kiss him, she knew that she could not. The realisation that she was in love with her rival, had hit her harder than any troll with a club ever could. The realisation that she wanted to give herself to him, body and spirit, had shocked her. But how could she? Not only were they on their way to Imladris so that she could start the rituals towards marriage with Lindir; but she doubted that Haldir would ever, could ever feel the same for her. Yet the feeling inside of her was so strong that she could not deny it. The Marchwarden of the southern borders, looking out over the slowly moving river.

"Why?" She asked, her voice barely above a whisper, hoping that someone or something would explain to her why all this, why these feelings had to come now. Why these feelings had to be for Haldir, and not Lindir. Yet as she prayed to the Valar to speak to her of their plans for her; to tell her why she seemed to be being punished for something she was not aware of, nothing came. The elleth wiping a tear away from her cheek, before beginning to remove her tunic and trousers. (Y/n) slowly stepping down into the cool water, hoping that while she washed away the dirt and blood from the orcs, the slowly moving waters, might also wash away her feelings for her handsome rival; but she doubted it.........she doubted it.

Haldir made his way down to the river. Never before had he been so determined. He had to tell (Y/n) how he felt; he had to tell her that they were meant to be together, no matter what Lady Galadriel or Lord Elrond had decided. That even if she laughed at him, he had to let her know that he believed that she was his one. That the Valar had made her just for him, and he for her. That Lindir could never love her as much as he could. The Marchwarden of the northern borders, stopping as he saw a familiar figure stood on the bank of the river. His heart hammering against his ribcage, as his rival began to remove her dirtied and blooded clothes. The light of the moon that now hung low in the night sky, giving her naked flesh an ethereal glow as she slowly made her way down into the river. Haldir not ignorant to the way that his body reacted to the sight of her. How he could feel something pull him towards her. The male Marchwarden removing what was left of his own clothing, before making his way to the river.

                                                               >>---------------------------------<<

(Y/n) quickly turned, as she felt the water around her move. Her eyes growing wide, as she saw a naked Haldir making his way down into the river. She couldn't help but feel how her body reacted, as the beautiful ellon made his way into the water; couldn't help but feel herself drawn to him. She knew that she should cover herself, that she should immerse herself into the cool river; she was promised to another, and he should rightfully be the only one that should see her in this way; but she could not bring herself to do it. She wanted Haldir to see her. She wanted him to know her.

"Tell me that you feel it too.........." Haldir said, as he came to stand with her in the water. The ellon hesitating for a moment, before reaching out his hand and placing it on her cheek.

"Tell me that you don't believe that we are meant to be together. That you do not feel that I am your one." The ellon continued, as he moved a little closer. (Y/n) closing her eyes as she nuzzled her cheek into his palm.

"I love you, (Y/n). You cannot marry Lindir. You belong with me, to me, as I belong to you. I know you feel it as strongly as I do. I know you want this as much as I do. I know that your move to Imladris, your betrothal to Lindir is the wish of both the Lady Galadriel and Lord Elrond; that you wish to do your duty and obey their wishes. But you cannot deny this; for I can no longer deny the way I feel............." Haldir continued, as he closed the gap that was between them. His body now pressed up against hers.

"No Haldir, I cannot deny it, nor will I. Lindir is a good and kind ellon. I know that he would care for me and treat me well; but I do not love him, I will never love him. I know that my heart, my body and my spirit belong to you, and only you. I love you too, Haldir; I do not want to fight you, fight this. I will be wedded to you here and now if that is what you want, for I have no desire to leave your side. No desire to be anyone else's........." (Y/n) replied, before placing her hand around the back of his neck, and pulling him down so that she could kiss his lips. The ellon placing his hands on her thighs and carefully picking her up. Her legs instinctively wrapping themselves around his waist; before the once quiet night air, was filled with the sound of elves becoming one.
